My maternal grandfather, Vincenzo Checca, was born in Pettorano Sul Gizio in 1894. He immigrated to the USA at 16 and returned to Italy to fight in the Italian army in WWI (Don't ask me why.) He then returned to the USA in 1919 never to return to Italy. I am a UK/US dual nation who speaks zero Italian. However, I visited Pettorano in 2013. Although the village is picturesque, I doubt that I could ever live there. I much prefer London.
Mr Bush Lied similar story here...my paternal grandparents lived there all their lives...their home was close to the piazza. My last visit there was in 1989 and I loved it. I would love to take my son there some day to see his ancestral village....dreams
Absolutely beautiful! ❤❤❤❤

I actually saw this guy walk by my nonni’s home at 18:30. LOL. It was amazing to see it.
Just found out my Great Great Grandfather was born here in 1884.
Beautiful sights! Is it difficult to live in such a place?
Pettorano lago?
