A lot of good design choices. The bed lift and incinerator toilet make a lot of sense. And the propane version of the Cinderella also seems to make more sense that the power-hungry electric, and since you've got a propane tank, you may as well have a nice stove with burners. and with a good-sized H2O tank, you're set for off-grid. Happy trails.
Very nice van build! It would be wonderful if you made a short video with the details on your toilet: installation, electric and propane consumption, and overall experience using it. There are very few videos on incinerating toilets in vans.
an almost perfect van. i applaud the incinerator toilet choice and i think more vans should utilize it. my only critique is that I wish the builder incorporated the pop top roof bed so there's more separation between living quarter and sleeping quarter
That's an incredible investment: I would, also, get an incinerator toilet if I were to get a van. How wonderful not to have to empty excrement or urine tanks. I, also, love your bed lift. Great way of saving space and the cedar wood paneling is a nice touch. The only thing that is missing is a TV. I don't know how you could fit on in there, but I think a TV would make it a complete home.
Lovely looking interior... Semi adequate kitchen supply and food storage....But not my favorite because there's really not enough storage for clothes, recreation items, pet.needs, even an online business needs equipment and supplies. The elevator is cool but sacrifices the space needed for all.of the above. There really should be at keast one window in a side which would be nice to look out even when the bed is down, and ventilation on rainy days. The quality is there but the esthetics have over ruled the practical. Will look for your other builds.
The Cinderella toilet 🚽 makes your build about 99% better than all other alone. You can put all your food waist in that toilet except for grease. Don't stop now put a direct solar AC mini-split why not?
Id sacrifice some bench space for a u shaped lounge... better for dinning/lounging and fit the hob flush with the bench... otherwise it's perfect!!.❤️🇺🇲🇺🇦
I was told by Cinderella toilets that they are not designed to function in a wet bath, it has been designed to handle water drips and splashes. Continuous water and moisture would affect the display and computerized parts. How do you avoid this? Great design and build
I also spoke to Cinderella, they also told me that their product is not designed for a wet bath although it is water resistant. I ended up adding extra sealant around any area water could ingress. I never had any issues.
How often do you have to fill your propane tank? How big is your propane tank? I've been thinking of installing the Cinderella toilet in my van. Did you vent it to the roof? Do you know if I can vent it to the side wall instead? Thanks in advanced for your answer and good luck with the sale.
Not often, we have only had to fill it once since we built the van although we don't use it much these days. It is a 20lb tank. Our toilet is vented through the floor. Thanks!
Incinerating toilets are the only way I could do van life. The downside is that they are expensive. You said the van was totally electric except for the stove top and the toilet. How is an incinerating toilet not electric? A propane toilet, nice.
The electric version of the Cinderella toilet is 220V, 2000W for incineration. It needs three times more Lithium battery, 4000W of inverter, and a second alternator under the hood to charge the battery. Also, the inverter needs to be on all the time. I saw a custom rig that had the electric Cinderella toilet.
@@justin-lewis How do you have the marine engine blowers vented outside? What did you use to weather-proof them? Can you provide any details about how you did those? I'm designing a layout, and don't have enough roof space for a Maxxair fan, and your solution looks intriguing. Thanks!
@@justin-lewis Please be so kind to provide some more details on the marine engine blowers. It's a wonderful idea! Are they vented outside because I don't see any holes on the sides of the van. Please get back to our inquiries, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I know you bed is a queen but what size happijac did you go with? Queen or standard? I read that you could still get a queen bed with a standard happijac.
Overall a beautiful build, especially the toilet. 2 things I would have loved is 1) A sofa bed, that is, that sofa right there being converted into a bed at night and sofa by day. I do not like the idea of a lift bed in cases of emergencies. 2) An entertainment area like a tv on that wall above the kitchen would have been a huge plus. Sitting on the sofa and enjoying a meal while staring at an empty wall wouldn't be ideal.
Nope, the control panel is basically a big sticker. I did apply some FlexSeal to the rear of the unit as more of a precaution but the toilet is rated to get wet.
Such a nice van! I wonder if the toilet heats up the van while incinereting? I mean could it be a problem on hot summer days? And how long does the incineration take? Thanks..
The cabinetry is pretty heavy and the batteries really don't actually weigh much. The water does, and I would imagine when the tank is full the van is a bit unbalanced, but it was never an issue for us.
Having a battery bank to support the power requirements of an electric incinerating toilet is pretty cost prohibitive. This is why I opted for the propane variant.
I LOVE THIS VAN!!!! Did you build it? Can you build one for me, and what’s the price? I like everything about it….maybe more lithium for more power. Pls contact me.
@@justin-lewis Is it the Cinderella Travel? What size propane tank do you have? How long does it last with the toilet? I realize you have the stove too.
That was a last minute addition we added while traveling. We originally only had the magnetic closures but when we had heavy objects in the pantry the door would sometimes fly open round corners. I agree a more elegant solutions would have been preferable.

Why did you make the counter so long? There’s no option for people to sit opposing each other.
It would be tight with the bed lift constricting the width of the buildable area and we would sacrifice a spare bed. Everything is a compromise 🤷♂
add a vlogger mic.. audio is weak.
Neat build. Why aren't there windows and what type of fan blows air in and out through the little nodules in the walls?
We meant to add a window in the sliding door but it was back ordered when we were building out the van. The vans are marine engine blowers.

This is a 148. I believe it was 24x40.

The incinerator runs on propane.
