As a freshwater geek just starting to hyper focus on saltwater, To help you understand just a 🤏 bit more. Our "Old Style" of doing things is almost exactly the same as saltwater from what Ive found so far. To dumb it down, Fish eat, fish poo, it goes into the sand where itd be sifted down to micro a macro critters and bugs will break that stuff down and after that cycle happens the waste from it is taken up from the plants. The plants actually send out hormones simular to either stay compact, spread out, if their on 2 ends of the tank theyll try to grow towards eachother with some species. Now thats a little cut of the deep dive & sadly not as commonly known information on freshwater for you! And itll sound craziest to you so ill say it, from what ive done with my tank the amount of simularitys with freshwater is pretty nuts. Keeping things stablr has shocks me & my LFS😂 Love the tours keep them up! Maybe visit D.N.A Aquatics!
That’s a choice though, and a niche market within the reefing hobby. In Germany people still appreciate these kinds of reef tanks. I would argue they are the ONLY ‘reef tanks’ around and what 99% of tanks are ‘random coral displays’
Woww! Added to my list when I travel to Germany soon, I have to check this out! I find shops like that fascinating! 🤩
I’ve been in the hobby for 20years so loved this video!!!
Hey, I had a little tank very similar to those in the early 90s. Damn I'm old and good to see this stuff still around.
I love Tunze but the size of that bubble algae was a show stopper. Maybe record breaking.

Even more dumbed down the way you guys use macro algae is the same as freshwater plants pretty much
more tanks = bigger space! are you moving the shop???
It looks like Tunze put all the effort in R&D, for their future products and their reef tanks have stayed in the 1990s...
