- Minecraft Speedrunning has been a booming subject as of recent. It seems like everyone is trying to get in on the action. The best players, Dream, Illumina, and RealBenex have been exposed to a much wider audience. A lot of TH-camrs are seeing speedrunning as a way to possibly grow. The biggest category in the spotlight has been the Random Seed Glitchless any% run in Minecraft versions 1.9+.
Just like any speedrun category, however, there have been cheaters. Cheaters are nothing new to speedrunning. Neither are they super uncommon. Usually, however, cheaters try to be smart and cautious about how they approach it--the more subtle you are, the more likely you are to get away with it.
Today, we’ll be talking about a run that attempted to be subtle, but was not subtle in the slightest.

Wanted to clarify two things:
1) NiceTwice is legit. This video is about "DREM". Not NiceTwice. NOT DREAM (though this video is mostly about Dream's comment)
2) Apparently, now everyone thinks loading screens always begin in the bottom left. That is false
The loading screen is on a seed-by-seed basis. Different seeds have different loading screens. Each seed itself will always have the same loading screen. It's seed dependent.
The issue I pointed out was how Drem’s “run” had a different loading screen from what his seed is supposed to have.

First Drem was exposed in 2020, the guy who exposed him and started the investigation being Dream.
Then, in 2021 Dream was exposed by MincrAvenger who investigated his drop rates.
And now in 2022 MinecrAvenger has been exposed for cheating.
I guess we can only assume that whoever got MincrAvenger caught will be faking speedruns in 2023

He answered a similar question on stream and he said that he was first to come up with this Dream like name. On his old Fortnite videos he was named Drem and that was before Dream was popular. Dream only had about 100-1000 subscribers at the time.

That kind of advice is futile. If Zyphon doesn’t want people to harass the guy, he wouldn’t have made the video in the first place. A video with controversy and the perpetrator’s name is bound to draw negative attention to that person.

No, that's not what I mean at all. If Zyphon wishes to call out Drem, by all means, he should go ahead and do it. In fact, I encourage it cause Dream really is an idiot.
What I am pointing out is the futile advice Zyphon gives in saying that people should not harass Drem. Saying something like that at the beginning of an exposed video is like telling people not to look at a bright neon side in a dark alley. It only achieves the opposite effect which is what happened in real time because Drem's video now has half a million views. Zyphon probably made that statement just out of kindness and just in case he receives backlash. But, as I said, other than those reasons, there is no point in giving that advice. It would be better to just be transparent about it and call it out for what it is without giving the disclaimer.

i heard about it in 2011 when someone talked about it in kindergarten, and then i started playing in 2012 back when you couldn’t explode tnt in creative in pocket edition, before cows and baby mobs and back when zombies dropped feathers. man has minecraft changed. there were also only iron tools in creative.
Edit: you also couldn’t open chests in creative either or open crafting tables. this applied in the pocket edition. i think i got it for pc in 2012-2014, but i can’t remember, as my account was deleted.

Ok Im not trying to defend Drem's actions here but Lee TG streamed his Yoshi's Island runs and it turned out they were tool assiated pre recordings. Streaming is not enough verification for a run to be proven legitimate.
