The MXL sounded better to me. Had better low end. Maybe a bit of crisper top end as well. At least that's how it sounds through my bluetooth stereo speakers. I will have to take another listen through my studio monitors to be sure. But I think that MXL will still sound better.I just took a Listen through my Studio Monitors and I still think the MXL-V67G Sounds better. The Other Mic does not sound bad though.
Listening through headphones it seemed to me that the MXL had a bit of a high end fuzz, and was picking up more room noise than the AKG - to my ears, I thought the AKG was a bit smoother.
Hello! Out of the mics listed in my opinion the V67G is the best mic and value for voice overs. Next would be the MXL 990. For recording your speaking voice you don't need a very expensive microphone. Most mics will do just fine but the 990 and v67g will pick up a more richer sound especially if your voice is in the lower registers. Good luck!
Hard to compare listening via TH-cam with its compressed and resampled audio, but I liked both mics, however the MXL seemed to have a "grainy" sound to it. Not bad, but just a little more harsher perhaps on strong, loud and nearly pure tones from your flute. But like I said, very hard to compare given the limitations of TH-cam. Making the original full bandwidth wav files available for downloading would help. But what did you think? You know the sound of your voice and flute the best. Thanks!
Hello! I usually don't put my opinions in the video because of just that reason. To my ears the MXL mic has a warmer tone at the lower end but sounds about the same as the 220 with the flute. The 220 has been my go to mic for many years but I'm liking the V67G a little better now. Cheers!
the mxl did sound a little bit harsher in the high also akg exhibit some of the same characteristics at the top but will less top end but mxl was clearer in the mid than the akg and gave off more headroom even tho they were both noisy.
hi cane major, firstly i want to say your videos are great! my reason to buy a mic is to rap, do voice overs and maybe record a friend playing guitar. i do not have a professional setup and i'm setting this up in an empty bedroom. there are some sounds from the road, so ill have to record at night. of course, i'll buy a reflection filter to cover the mic. so do you think of all the mics, mxl v67g is good for me?

They sounded similar on the instruments, some minor differences, but it was a clear win on vocals with a better low freq response in my opinion.
MXL sounded slightly more noisy. Also harsher sibilances on the MXL.
I think MXL nicely working

Hello! Yes, I think the V67G is an excellent mic for Rapping and vocals. It is one of the best deals out there! Good luck!
mxl winner.
Hey man what preamp are you using for this?
I'm using a Mixer plugged into a mini USB interface. The Mixer is a Behringer Xenyx 802.
@@CaneMajor Thanks!
