    I've owned my ZIp Navigator for over 3 years and I have over 2000 miles on my odometer. It paid for itself during the second year. It DOES have a USB port under the handle. The AT does have wider front wheels for added stability but it doesn't have a USB port or the front wheel gyro. The gyro keeps the cart on track even after hitting any bump or hidden sprinkler hear. After folding the cart, it occupies less space than my folded Sun Mountain Speed Cart. The best part is all I do now is walk, no pushing, no pulling. I don't think the STOP button being at the bottom of the remote is an issue. Since I don't have multiple remotes it doesn't matter where it is. And finally, what I've learned with a battery cart, keep your eyes on it. If you get distracted it's going to keep going where it's pointed. Just stop it before you start looking for a ball, start a conversation, etc.

    I think you made a mistake with the uphill test. The M7 went straight up the hill while the MGI was aimed up at an slight angle and as the MGI has the gyroscope it tried to stay on that path, that’s why it had to steer sometime. You should have tried the M7 at the same angle and it probably would have steered to the left considerably.

    Thank you for the review. I have had a Motocaddy M7 for a little over a year and am thinking about switching to an MGI. The main issues I've had with the Motocaddy are: 1) The arm lock mechanism on the side is very stiff and it's taken over a year for it to loosen up slightly. 2) The cart veers hard left and right without the gyroscope technology. I'm constantly having to adjust direction. 3) I've had a really difficult time adjusting to the sensitivity of the remote. If I press a turn button lightly, it only turns a little bit, if I add a little more pressure, it turns 90 degrees. This may just be me. I haven't tried remotes on other trolleys to compare. Otherwise, the Motocaddy is a well built, very sturdy piece of equipment. The battery is very easy to install and remove and it takes a couple hours to recharge after 18 holes on a moderately hilly course. MGI's are much more popular where I play, in part due to their availability at Costco.

    Pro Tip: You don't want the MGI Zip Navigator if you play on courses with lots of hills, mounds and elevation changes. You want the MGI Zip Navigator AT (All Terrain) model. Why, you may ask? The AT fixed the problem that both the regular Zip and other competitors (such as Motocaddy) have. The AT spreads out the front wheel base out wider, which makes it much less susceptible to tip over and makes it a much better balanced unit than any models with the wheel bases like the two you see in this video. If you play relatively flat courses, then the M7 and regular Zip are fine.

    • @NewNineGolf
      @NewNineGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed. Even though the motocaddy does better on hills. The AT model is still better like you said with the wide front wheel base. Keep in mind though with the wider wheel base, it makes the cart less nimble. The turning radius is bigger. So depends on what people want I guess.

    • @marlboroguy1975
      @marlboroguy1975 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I own the A/T and can confirm on hilly wet courses it still tips over when one wheel slips and buggy spins , motocaddy should be better balanced due to battery been in the center not hung of the back like MGI

  • @Blue_Dun
    @Blue_Dun ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I have the MGI Zip Navigator AT version with front wheels farther apart for stability. I play on hilly courses and it works great. It may need a little hands on to stabilize it better on really steep hills. I 100% recommend this product. Best investment I've ever made for my golf game. And this things is a tank! It's been through a lot in well over two years and it's still going strong...cart and batteries. The only negative is the accessories. They are pricey for being poorly made plastic junk. Every single accessory has broken and I'm about to go on my third drink holder under normal use. I am careful with stuff so it's a bit frustrating.

    Been looking at the M7 option bc I’ve had an M3 Pro for 5 seasons and am really impressed with the build quality. Only thing I don’t like is the accessories are junk, on the M3 I’ve taken the clips off my old clicgear to use their accessories. BUT I can’t say enough about the easy lock pins, it works amazing with the standbag. Thanks for a great review.

    Both great buggies in my opinion, I ended up getting the MGI Zip Navigator AT, only problem is the MGI accessories are terrible. I ended up finding an All In 1 accessory made by Stadium Golf, that really is a massive help when playing, it carries absolutely everything you need and has a small footprint. I'm pretty sure they make them for the Motocaddy buggies too.

    I have had a Motocaddy S7 remote for several years, and whilst it supposedly has a corrective feature to maintain a straight line on a side hill, it doesn't work well, and the gyroscope feature sounds really fantastic. I have had 2 S7's and always said I would get another if it was stolen! But this gyroscope trick could be a game changer.

    BTW, the Zip Navigator has a USB charging port underneath the handle also. The weakness with the Zip is the battery placement being behind the reader axle. That makes it tippier and you have to be careful not to dump it. This is why the new MGI moved the battery forward. The gyro that keeps it going straight is a big plus. If you ever drive on in a pond or creek, then it’s done no matter what make or model.

    Have you considered reviewing the Alphard Golf V2 e wheels? This is a great option for players who already have a push cart. I have this and absolutely love it. The main reason I would never switch is because I love the top lock technology on the bag boy carts that hold the bag in perfectly. • @melabshier5812
    @melabshier5812 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wonder if you swapped bags on the uphill challenge if the Zip might not have tipped back? It's possible your bag had more stuff in in it at the bottom of the bag to add a bit of weight.
    I also suspect that whichever brand one chooses, and gets used to, that is which one works best for that customer. You'll get used to the remote and its functions. Along with the utilization of the trolley.
    I'm considering my first battery operated trolley. So, your video helped. I think I would prefer one with the gyroscope to keep it straight. Also, you did not review how easy it is to go to manual mode in case the battery runs out or fails. Or if you hitch a ride back to the clubhouse because of rain or whatever. From reading other articles, you do not want to ruin the electronics and need to put the cart into manual mode.
    As I live in Oregon, where it can rain..lol, i'd like more information on how to maintain a trolley if it gets wet and what is the failure rate of the battery or electronics. I suspect it's very low, and one may never get the truth from the manufacturer, but it's my money and I don't want warranty hassles. 😊

    • @NewNineGolf
      @NewNineGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there. Ive used both on the course with different bags and the Zip does tend to tip back more than the motocaddy. I dont think its a deal breaker though as you want to hold the handlebars on both if you're going up or down very steep hills. The gyroscope technology is really good on the zip. In the case you do need manual mode to push, there's that button on the wheel you push and you put the wheel out of geared mode so it's easier to push. (It allows the wheels to spin freely) I do think it's probably extremely rare that rain will damage the electronics. I think you'll be happy with either. Thanks for watching and hope this helps.

    •  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the zip navigator and I’m very happy with it. My course is very hilly. I think the reason it tipped in your video might have been the gyroscope feature which is actually a positive point because on uneven terrains the trolly might just go anywhere. With the gyroscope it stays where it is supposed to go. That’s my experience at least. I think an advantage for the motocaddy would be if you also had a motocaddy bag with the quick locking mechanism.

      @@NewNineGolf Nice! That was my home course for nearly a decade. One of those houses in the background up the hill is my in-laws. I still sit and sip my coffee and watch golfers finish #8 Ridge and tee on #9. My only hole in one is at #16 at the talons. Good ol’ days.

    Didn’t go uphill at same speed not a fair comparison in my opinion of the hill test. Should be same speed during test

    Just bought the Navigator AT at Costco on their Christmas sale. Comes with full accessories including a seat. $300 off the regular price.
    I think also the resistance to turning in manual mode is probably the gyroscope working to maintain it straight, still, good observation.
    Nice review.

      @@NewNineGolf thanks !!! ... Damn, Ive never used one of these , but I think "follow" is a deal-breaker, must-have feature for me. I don't want to be distracted by fiddling with a remote control constantly during my round ?? Right? Follow would be magic 🤔🤔🤔

      @huddwah I received a couple follow ones in the Stewart golf Q follow and Axglo. Check those out.

    For this price it needs to have a seat and the ability for me to ride it all the way round.
    What an absolute rip off

    SIgh, why can't these testers use the same test conditions? Use the same damn bag on the same damn course. It takes a bit more effort, but c'mon.
