Hi Mike! I thoroughly enjoy your videos of you and your family. It has been an inspiration to me (and I am 78 years old) to see the things you all do and have done. Today I worked for four hours with my skidloader and my PolarisRanger and actually enjoyed it for the complete four hours so I certainly understand your desire to work and appreciate your work ethic. Mike I was watching you run the sawmill with the sawdust blowing out. Why not put a small conveyor under the spout and collect the sawdust in super sacks. I worked as a truck driver for 30 years and I hauled a lot of sawdust that they called wood flower from Wisconsin to Arkansas for use in making the curved backs for school desks. I don't know what the sawdust is worth but they paid us very well for moving it. Might be worth checking into. the dust we hauled was hardwood.

Mike - regarding the regen issue - and you and many of your viewers may already know this - what your loader is doing is cranking up the RPM’s to generate more heat so that the soot collected in the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is incinerated. Consistently running a machine at low RPM’s without a regen will clog the DPF and w/o the regen function activating the machine will shut down and the DPF will need to be either serviced or replaced. I have a Deere 320G. The machine will allow me to shut down partway thru a regen and will complete the cycle next time I start it up again. I tended to run my previous machine (a 320E) at low RPM’s and wound up having to have a Deere tech rep replace a clogged DPF at a cost of about $2600. This repair cannot be done by the owner, as the DPF’s are serial numbered and have to be registered by Deere with the EPA. Regen is the craziest thing the government ever came up with. This is why I'm never getting rid of my older non-def, non-regen pieces of equipment. If you had been a part of how much the independent trucker has been destroyed by the implementation of the government rules and regulations, you might have a different view on this. These new regen engines have destroyed trucking for the small guy. This one rule has pushed the cost of doing business as a small trucking company to unbearable costs with very little good results for the environment. This type of regulation is creepy into the small person's pocket now. There is a reason why so many who have older non-regen equipment are hanging on to it. @OutdoorsWithTheMorgans. I feel your frustration with the regen. I am sure the DPF % screen on the F350 has not been turned on but it is nice to be able to monitor how often the regen makes it back to 0%. I had to explain to the dealer how to turn that screen on in my 2019 F350.
The OWTM brand encompasses all that you do and is appealing to so many of us like minded people who love our families, our country and "the finer things in life".
That regen thing on the diesel engines drives me crazy. I have a ram 3500 and right now the fuel milage is showing 6.6 mpg. Whats even worse I had a semi truck that i used to deliver fuel locally and the milage used to be as low as 3.1 mpg. Somehow this is better for the enviroment and helps save the planet. I really miss the simpler times when a diesel would run forever, now if a sensor smells some carbon the engine will darn near give up working and actually in most case it will derate till repaired.
😁Mike, what do you do with all the bark slabs you cut off the top, sides and bottom of all your saw logs for lumber? When I was a kid on the old farm our cattle barn and our corn crib were built mostly with bark slabs.😁
That's a cool idea. Putting the IBC container under to catch the scraps. 👍 One of the first videos I've watched was when you built the wood shed. You've come along way. God bless.

I been watching Ya'll for at least 5 years. I've learned a lot from your Channel. Now enjoying the Sawmill Content. I run an lt40 SH. The Walnut is turning out nice. Wish we had more Walnut around home. Your correct on the Regen BS.
I operate a brand new cat 352 excavator ... when its in regen and its time to go home I shut it off. It just continues the burn in the morning . Also it almost never does a burn unless its been at a idle.
I think that change of title is to be attributed to this generation and life changing. But to me you and the family are in the wood business and a great operator of the equipment you show case. You provide all information on the videos and helpful to any who ask. Keep up the great work Mike. Love the channel.
One of the chip trucks that I drive has to be regened all the time. Sometimes it takes 45 minutes for it to complete its regen. Definitely is an unnecessary burning of fuel. Always enjoy your videos. Mike, give the family my best.
I don't care what you are called but please don't stop the videos. I look forward to every one. I agree with you on the Regen on the diesels. The engines use a lot more fuel so I can't see where this is better for the environment, bit it is what it is. Take care.
We’ll keep looking forward to all of your videos, no matter how often (or infrequently) they come out. You are a rare TH-camr who’s an ordinary guy doing things that I can learn from. Best wishes for a great 2024.
about 2 or three years ago I have seen several research papers that showed that even including the regen run like you just showed emissions of soot and other cancer-causing emissions were drastically lower while the effect on CO2 emissions was negligible. I do not live out in the woods like you do but in the city and monitoring programs for air quality have shown a substantial improvement since these installations were required for new machines. And yes these regen cycles are a pain in the bud and never happen at a convenient time, I know that from experience running large john deere and roberine grass mowers that also had to do regen. But I still prefer the cleaner air.
"If you're working and the conditions are met for auto regen, it will start automatically and you can continue working as normal. To meet the conditions, the tractor must be warmed up and the engine RPMs above 1800. You must keep the RPMs up during the regen, which will last about 15 minutes."
I work on transit buses and I can tell you when we do a Regen after changing a dpf it puts of a huge amount of exhaust fumes out. It will saturate your lungs so bad I've had to hold my breath until I'm clear of the vehicle. I intentionally purchased a pre emissions 44hp Kubota tractor so I would not have to deal with the horrible reliability of a dpf and def systems.
You are completely right! Since the new gas can pour spout valve design I have spilled more gas into the lake I live on than I had in the prior 40 years. I feel bad every time I fill the boat but I can't stop the excessive spillage. soooo! much distruction into the lake. How can we stop the government?
I have a large tractor and you cant see the forks past the hood, oh how easy it is to make a pack of timber go pair shaped. I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about. Being off level to the pack can cause similar dilemma. I like it how on both those forks you can see everything happening
Don't really know that it matters what you call it Mike ("TH-camr" or "firewood guy"), just glad you like taking the time to share this kind of content on here. Have a great day!
I work as a paramedic and was assigned to a interhospital transport unit: A large Ford Diesel, 1/4 through my shift the truck decided it needed to regen, or else the engine performance would tank. The solution that the company had was to take to vehicle to the nearby interstate and run it at 70mph+ until the engine regen warning went away. So the vehicle could randomly decide to remove itself from service until it got to run for a while: NOT ideal for ambulances!!
Mike: you are doing what you want to do and we are all watching. Great videos and very informative. You would think that you could plug the loader into the computer and let it do it's thing rather than waste fuel. Nice idea of the old water container to catch the bits from the splitter. Maybe put it on a pallet so you can move it when it is full. Take care and stay safe.
Most TH-camrs I follow quit what got them subscribers and just do random tool reviews these days. I feel your production of your videos is just as good as if it’s a tv show, you never know which direction life takes you.
I love the idea of being able to dump rounds in the hopper. I used my dump trailer to dump the rounds in then positioned it to the splitter to slide the rounds off to be split. Worked great ! Keep up the good fight.
Mike, you are SO GOOD at backing up your trailer....and I am SO BAD at it. Sometime, could you share your thought process? What are you thinking and doing as you backup the trailer down the long curved driveway?
Scared me for a moment. Thought you were going to stop. I watch all your videos and can't wait for the next one. Looking forward to the next one. Thanks to you and your family for doing this.
I tend to have the opposite. Just as I start, it'll go into regen. Happened once when John Malecki's guys were over to drop off some wood for drying. Tractor wanted to regen in the middle of the offload...luckily I was able to bypass it until they left.
Good morning, fellow Morgans. We have three new Kenworth dump trucks at work and all that DEF crap gives us trouble occasionally. The older trucks have the 400 Cummins engines. They just go and go!
Question for you, how much time does it take per day for to set up the cameras, contemplate the shots, editing, uploading, etc. ? Compared what you could do in that same time frame around the compound?
Mike you are right Gov. is stupid. I'm a retired firefighter and they put regens on our fire apparatus 15 or so years ago. We laughed that we were required to have it. A fire engine is either going balls to the wall or stopped, it never has any emissions to burn off because we are burning them off going to calls. CRAZY, that you have to wait for your skid loader to complete regen. Also, the neighborhood was really pleased when our fire engine would go into regen at 3 in the morning while we were stopped in doing the call.
Agree with the regen . Seems when ever i get finished with a small job on my Kubota M7060 it wants a regen, Have to bump up the RPM's to do a regen . Let it set , Burn more fuel till it gets done. STUPID !
Mike my suggestion is Rex should be a sponsor, and give you that machine as it cranks out the wood as you mentioned, especially with 1 person. Also know myself and many others look forward to every video you put out and hope you continue but if you life takes you elsewhere we wish you and the family the best.

I always enjoy your videos I don't understand why people have to bring bad vibes hate is ugly and envy is worse love it that your family orientated that way all of my family can watch it😊
Call the regen what it is... a soot cooker. Only the EPA can make sense of a system that literally shoots diesel fuel down the exhaust pipe completely bypassing the engine to burn soot. Yep, that is good for the environment...burning more diesel just so you don't have black smoke coming out of the tail pipe. That black smoke (soot) is fairly heavy and falls to the ground instead of hanging in the atmosphere, but some tree hugger somewhere didn't like the look of all that black smoke so they fixed it.
The Rex is a great machine, one person can operate it but second person could be cutting rounds and loading the hopper . That would be real production plus you have got roof overhead,so you could use your new building for other things.
Mike the bladder that you cut the top off of you can use them after you fill the ibc totes up with fire wood you can take the top or bottom and lay that back on top of the ibc tote and it will keep the rain and snow off your fire wood you may have to put a rock or peice of firewood on top of it to keep the wind from blowing it away

Mr Mike, dont leave us, you are my motivation. I love what you and Melissa and Eva do, would miss all of you and what you guys do. Thanks!
I have learned a lot about lumber. You educate us me.
To me the transition started with the original RK Tractor partnership, appreciate the content and hard work you put into making it.
One of the first videos I've watched was when you built the wood shed. You've come along way.
God bless.
We agree with you 100%. The two of you and your family are great examples of quality American citizens of our great country. Please keep making these great videos. You are appreciated. Thank you
Barroed my neighbor's tractor he warned me about re gen used it no problem returning it went it regen parked it & waited 45 minutes neighbor's not home just waited just stupid I consider u guys family also cheers 🥂 😊
I been watching Ya'll for at least 5 years. I've learned a lot from your Channel. Now enjoying the Sawmill Content. I run an lt40 SH.
The Walnut is turning out nice. Wish we had more Walnut around home. Your correct on the Regen BS.
"Government is Stupid". The best line I have ever hears from you, Mike!
I operate a brand new cat 352 excavator ... when its in regen and its time to go home I shut it off. It just continues the burn in the morning . Also it almost never does a burn unless its been at a idle.
..........G'day Mike,
I find your videos to be among the most interesting and down to earth on U-tube.
Cheers,
Malcolm.
Your DOC and DPF probably needs cleaning. I take mine out and blow the soot out with an air compressor.
Wow, what is wrong with me, I never thought of doing that. lol@@davidmorse8432
LOVE Outdoors with Morgan's ❤❤❤❤ you inspire me
I love and use that line all the time! It's okay for you to be wrong!" Thanks for all the great videos!
"It's alright to be wrong".....CLASSIC!
You are completely right! Since the new gas can pour spout valve design I have spilled more gas into the lake I live on than I had in the prior 40 years. I feel bad every time I fill the boat but I can't stop the excessive spillage. soooo! much distruction into the lake. How can we stop the government?
We still love yah no matter what you are keep doing what you love and you all be safe in all you all do God Bless
I appreciate that!
It doesn't matter what your title or job description is as long as you
are having fun and paying the bills. Have fun and stay safe!
I love the idea of being able to dump rounds in the hopper. I used my dump trailer to dump the rounds in then positioned it to the splitter to slide the rounds off to be split. Worked great ! Keep up the good fight.
Agree with you 💯 %
Mike, you are SO GOOD at backing up your trailer....and I am SO BAD at it.
Regen comment is spot-on. My regens tend to always be when I’m finished.
Mike, one of my favorite things about watching your channel is the music selections you make. Very cool stuff.. the opening song is awesome.
Just to let you know mr Morgan I never get bored of listening/watching you 👍🇬🇧
Question for you, how much time does it take per day for to set up the cameras, contemplate the shots, editing, uploading, etc.
STUPID !
Regen and having to run WOT all the time (to reduce regens) is my only pet peeve with my LX3310
Mike my suggestion is Rex should be a sponsor, and give you that machine as it cranks out the wood as you mentioned, especially with 1 person.
Also know myself and many others look forward to every video you put out and hope you continue but if you life takes you elsewhere we wish you and the family the best.
You need a removable roof on that woodshed, a few fasteners go a long way.
Regen has happened to us on several inopportune occasions. You have to pay for wasted time, especially when clocking out .
You are a property owner and maintainer that cuts wood to burn and build and have a nice family. Show and demonstrate machines and dreams.
Mike you’re also a philosopher and story teller! Enjoy the videos and visits with Mellissa and family.
Mike if i am going to classify you i would say you and your family are excellent good honest hard working human beings something that a lot of this world today is lacking but still has a lot of left never mind what people want to classify you sir are a good person keep up the good work
Gaday from down under, my name is Dale and the wife (Debra) and I gust love your posts, please keep it up as you have a different world over there yet we are more alike then we are in alike.
Alike, got a 2021 F250 Lariat Tremor, 12 months in on not quite 1000 acres of heavy timbered property in the Hunter Valley on the Great Dividing Range (from your prospective a hill even though we on a mountain lol). We have a close friend logging the property for his mill and we just started firewood processing, small operation with a new Kubota 75s2 and a Harveston 150 processor. We have a Unimog 4x4 to get the firewood off the “hill” but it all a new venture for us, tried to retire but didn’t work, no pun intended lol.
It fascinating see how you work your business. I don’t know how to TH-cam post etc maybe I can get a tech to show me.
Question- do you have hardwood like we got in Australia? Interested to know
Dale & Debra
It always happens just before you want to park it. I have a SVL90-2, and at least I don't need DEF Fluid.
Hi Mike nice to see a locally made product in your yard (REX) .🇦🇺
Whatever makes you the most money that’s what you are. Great equipment you have.
Yea I’ve had to park my farm tractor running a few times when I was done to let it finish a regin. Heck I’ve loaded on the trailer got ready to shut off and bam regin, I just drove home with it running on the trailer. So dumb I agree. ☝️
My 8 AM,s would never be the same…Have a day You definitely wear a lot of hats.
That splitter is impressive
You can disagree with me … it’s ok to be wrong … 🤣🤣🤣 … what a great line !!! … I’m gonna use that going forward in life 😎
You don’t need a title or job description with us Mike! Just keep making great videos and we will be here!
The Rex is a great machine, one person can operate it but second person could be cutting rounds and loading the hopper . That would be real production plus you have got roof overhead,so you could use your new building for other things.
I like the variety you do
Yours is one of my favorite channels, I'm going to miss you
Mike the bladder that you cut the top off of you can use them after you fill the ibc totes up with fire wood you can take the top or bottom and lay that back on top of the ibc tote and it will keep the rain and snow off your fire wood you may have to put a rock or peice of firewood on top of it to keep the wind from blowing it away
Your videos are great guys 😊
Mike I got it! I would call you a “WoodTuber”!
should that bin be on a pallet? gonna fill up with some good kindling quick
