Catherine Stafford: Braille Keyboard

blind people can type on a normal keyboard, im pretty sure.

They can, but why not have both options? This device follows the legacy of older Braille typewritters/punches that punch holes into paper and let people write in Braille. There are even commercial devices that use either the same or a very similar layout, but they tend to be quite expensive.
