JD, do you really think Eiserman goes Top 10 or do we gotta chance at grabbing him at 14? I really like Eiserman, and him and celebrini would have instant chemistry.
Would be very happy with Sennecke, or Eiserman at 14. If available, Stolberg would be a great second round pick. I'd also throw EJ Emery in there for that first second round pick. But I wonder if he will get picked in the first round since his stock has been rising. I think it's a good move though to go with the best available player at 14 and try to solidify the Top 6. We are missing that blue chip d man, but we can add in free agency or draft down the road. Lot of mock drafts have us taking Jiricek. It's obviously a concern with the two knee injuries. I saw an interview with his agent who also represents his brother who is in Columbus, and apparently even his brother had a knee injury and surgery fixed it no problem. His brother also claims Adam is better than he is. But I am too worried about knee injuries, especially two.
I'd be happy if it played out like this, I wouldn't package our seconds to move up, I think we'll be happy with who's still available back there. All for getting another late first another way though.
Excellent choice for Sennecke, he's such a big upside guy, maybe too much to be available at 14 comes draft day (but would cause someone nice to fall to the Sharks). For 33, my priority list would be Luchanko (such a stud, no brainer but he's 100% gone in the 1st round) > Stolberg > Freij > Badinka > Hemming > Mews > Kiviharju > Artamonov Really really good draft otherwise, hopefully GMMG does as well in 2 weeks
Did u consider Nygard? I'm curious what you thought of the benefits of Sennecke over Nygard. I think both guys have a good motor, very hard working/fore-checking puck retrievers. Call them Teal retrievers, a prettier more fun version of Golden (Knight) retriever :)
If the sharks don’t get a higher end defender with 14 how alarming would that be? Considering we have a pretty stacked forward group but a bunch of mid level Defensive prospects
Thinking the Sharks are almost catching up to the Ducks who have been in a perpetual rebuild since the Sharks eliminated them in Round 1 of the playoffs in 2018. You would think they would take a massive leap at some point but GM Verbeek can’t get his young guys surrounded with quality vets. Not super high on Sennecke, have seen other models that have him in the mid to late 20s, his performance this year was slow then picked up in the last third of the season but him being slightly older with his ok performance put him in the 20’s. The model had Parascak, Hage and Surin in the #14 spot. Keep in mind the Sharks interviewed Micheal Hage at the combine so there’s some interest.
Wouldn’t mind seeing the Sharks reach for Emery at #14 if the top guys are gone and go with another defenseman at 33. Especially with all this talk about Ferraro being shopped. Mukhamadullin and Thrun strike zero fear in anyone😂 At this point the Sharks will need to reach into free agency to expedite this rebuild. Can’t not wonder what Mitch Marner is going to explore next season and his connection to Marleau 🤔 Hard to imagine the Sharks having a top 6 all being under the age of 23 after next season, they’re going to need veteran leaders/producers.
Sharks will probably have a better chance at getting one of Hensler, Schaefer, or Boumedienne with their pick from their spot in the standings next year then using all their 2 round draft capital to try and get one of the top guys this year. Plus there is really good potential second pairing D that should be available in the second. Personally I think the team should just sit and pick. There will be a solid player at 14
@@James-kk4jm Is it though? Sharks will still likely be a bottom five team next season. Just because they have Celebrini they shouldn't magically shoot up the standings
@@James-kk4jm Why? Next year's draft has 3 defenseman ranked in the top 15 per some rankings. The Sharks will also be a lottery team for the next 2, perhaps 3 seasons. They need to start thinking about how to get some blue chip blue liners as they are thin in that department.
You really butchered Aron Kiviharju’s name. In your defense, you aren’t living in Finland. I have lived in Finland for 21 years, so I can do a decent job on pronouncing Finnish first and last names. My very good friend Teemu Selänne still has those that cannot properly pronounce his first name. As it should be pronounced Taaymu. 😉
I don’t understand trying to get what might be the final piece to your top6/9 when there is no sure thing on the backend outside of Mukhamadulin who is realistically a #4. Just in the last year they added Edstrom, Graf, Musty, Smith, Haltunen to a young core of Eklund, Bystedt, Bordeleau, Lund then in this draft Celebrini there is no need to use a lottery pick on another forward. Hell if you want another forward so bad next years top 5 is likely gonna be all forwards take one to round out the top 6 then.
No. You take best player there. If sennecke is there you take that. Going d at 14 is prolly getting you a 2A which is what you can get at 33. This whole process gonna take a few more years. Don’t pass on upside forwards.
Man, if the Sharks could end up with Celebrini, Sennecke, and Stolberg…we’re laughing!!
A+ draft
I like Sennecke, and Stolberg. I wish Catton was in our range though
Solberg will go in the first round no doubt. I'd actually really like Celebrini at 1 and Solberg at 14.
🎶It’s the most wonderful time of the yearrrr🎶
Respect your choice at 14th and I wouldn’t be mad but I would rather go for Nygard. But still hoping that Grier will try to trade up and pick Buium.
JD, do you really think Eiserman goes Top 10 or do we gotta chance at grabbing him at 14? I really like Eiserman, and him and celebrini would have instant chemistry.
There’s def. a chance, if helenius and catton are still on the board for the flyers and wild, Eiserman can potentially fall right into our lap
Easily a chance. Especially if Sennecke goes top 10.

Definitely not my strong suit
I'd be pretty happy if the sharks drafted any of those guys you listed in the top 14

I think Sennecke's ceiling is a touch higher than Nygard's.

They interviewed 70 people at the combine. So they have an interest in a lot of people.

Next years draft is lacking in the number of elite defensemen. You think it’s imperative the Sharks trade up to get one of the top 6?

I wonder if the sharks can flip Mario for pick 23+ ?
Imagine they go Celebrini Sennecke trade Mario for 23 and a prospect take emery at 23 get solberg at 33. Goalie at 42.
Michael Brandsegg-Nygard would be my pick is he's still available.
As a Flyer fan I must add I doubt Silyaev ( sp ) gets past the Flyers. Keith Jones has stated they want a large blue line.

If the Sharks take Eiserman at 14, do you think Celebrini goes back to BU to play with him?
Nope. Eiserman might need more than 1 year at BU. Celebrini will play this year and keep his seat warm.
I would prefer Jiricek to senneke, I think the only reason he’s not mocked higher is the missed time
He's coming off a knee injury and hasn't started skating yet.
SHARKS NEED TO TRADE UP FOR ZEEV BUIUM🙏🥴
I just don’t see the sharks not drafting a D at 14 the sharks D prospect pool/young players is one of the worst in the league

Better to get a forward with a high ceiling than reaching for a defenseman. But, I wouldn’t be mad if the Sharks reached for Stolberg at 14.
