You were not wrong.. I would have never guessed who Andy Jackson became. Amazing story telling.. maybe slightly better than usual. Great job! Have a good night.
Many might debate the accomplishments of Presidents Jackson, but there is no debate.....this was a great story. Paul Harvey couldn't have done it better .
Wow another amazing story. I am so honored to be Appalachian and Scotts Irish. No harder working family. We may never be hand models but boy the stories these wrinkles remember. God bless you ❤
WOW. What a story! I didn't know any of that about Andrew Jackson. I love horses, and when I was 15, I was getting in enough trouble that my dad took me out to the auction barn. He bought a Standardbred mare I thought might fall down dead before we got her out of the arena. She not only lived, but thrived and was my friend for 11 years; she'd been abandoned and left to die. She was a born racehorse, a pacer, from her heart out to her hooves - hated to be held back! I trained her to be ridden, and she was a quick study. It was a little scary riding her when her blood was up - and boy, she could outrun almost every horse we rode with and still be full of fire when they were wearing out. Heart of a champion, she had. Thanks a bunch, JD.
Gidday mate, that was seriously immersive , I didnt see that twist at all at the end, ill never understand a sore loser but to become someone of such importance years later is incredible, have an amazing rest of your weekend an week ahead.
I have just found you and fell in with the e telling of Champ Ferguson’s story. No I’m hooked and find myself binge-watching your channel. Living every minute of it!!
I always get excited whenever you release a new video! I love these pieces of history often not spoken of or well known but every one a great piece of American history!!! Thanks for all the hard work you put into your channel JD!!! Your work is much appreciated!!!
Ah JD you got me on this one. I had no idea Andy would become so famous and run our fledgling country! Thanks so much! This was filled with intrigue and anticipation for the race outcome. I had the inkling that Andy would win. Boy was I wrong! You are one of the best story tellers I’ve ever heard! Thanks for the history lesson. Been busy in the pumpkin patch so haven’t had time to watch much Utube til this morning. So happy to see the notification of this. Have a wonderful weekend! God Bless you!
Oh my stars!!! What a surprising ending to this race!! JD, as you said, I wouldn’t have guess that in millions of years!! Now folks, don’t forget JD’s amazing book which has a multitude of fine stories just for you!! Once you buy it and start reading it…… it’s impossible to put it down!! I guarantee you’ll never regret it!!! Hurry up today so you can start reading it soon!!! Thanks JD for all you do! Blessings always! ❤️😊🙏❤️🌹
Thanks so much for sharing! I absolutely love learning tales of our beautiful little spot in this huge world! And I haven't heard many who can tell 'em better'n you! God bless! ~ Scott 💙🙏🏼
Wow ! Thanks for sharing such an amazing part of history. I'm always learning something when I listen to an awesome history teacher and storyteller like you.. Many thanks. God 🙏 bless 🙏.
Oh wow my home town ❤, and I had Mrs. Love for a teacher in highschool. Thanks JD, never knew this story. The river runs right behind their homes, I think she's the only one now living in Erwin after her husband Robert Love passed.
I live just over the mountain from Erwin Tennessee and drive on the Jackson love highway often. I did not know it was named after the 7th president. Very interesting thank you
I'm 35 or so and have loved history since before the wild, wild world of endless ethernet cords and knowledge Lol had never heard this one tho!! I'm a rambler too and honestly wasn't a fan of the continuous use of excess wordage, but after watching till the end I completely understood why then. It was ALL needed for such and exquisite build-up and conclusion, always had to be proved wrong Lol thanks man, from Jessamine and Taylor counties 👍
Good morning JD! Really enjoyed this story about young Andy. I’m sure this was one of the most exciting things that happened in the area. Can you just imagine how fast and far word spread about this race, like wildfire. Great story and kept me riveted. I hope you and your family have a very blessed weekend!
Thank you Willow! BTW make sure your subscribed to my other channel which is strictly storytelling, I released videos on Sunday mornings th-cam.com/users/theappalachiachannel
I grew up in Johnson City (I’m 72 ) and I never heard that story. Thanks. Most of the stories I heard of Erwin were of hangings, of the course the biggest one of those was of the elephant.
Wow!!!!! This was good. I’m a new subscriber, So I ain’t heard all your stories yet but I love this Paul Harvey form. I loved listening to him too. (good day!!!)
I've watched a few videos now over the past 24 hours and something that I've noticed is the very high cheekbones in many of the men and in some women. Colonel Love, Andy's, The Grandma's story, Nancy Kerley, her cheekbones became most prominent as she got older, and that other man...Will Middleton. To me, regardless of their Anglo heritage, all come across as having some resemblance to indigenous traits. I know I must be far off, but it's something I did notice. I like your stories. They are very interesting and quite intriguing. I look forward to watching more. I did sub. Thank you.
I did a report on Andy Jackson as a 5th grader (1967). The old Brittanica Encyclopedia I had, had a bit of this story in it. I mentioned it in my report, so I knew right away who he was.
