Two major improvements that aren’t getting enough hype:
    1) Lets you customize the front command dial! I set mine to ISO
    2) Separate settings are saved just for video mode, so you dont have to dive into the Q menu every time you switch between photo/video modes
One concern that maybe you could test:
The audio preamp seems noisier and weaker than the previous generation.

I just got mine from Adorama last week, and this thing is a beast. I've wanted to migrate my street camera to Fuji for years but the AF was slow and there were some serious problems that prevented me from moving away from my Nikon Full-frame. Those days are now officially over. With this, paired with the 16 f/2.8 and the 23 f/2 this is the perfect street rig. Amazing AF, good low light performance, tilt screen, light, completely customizable. I won't be taking my D810 out anymore. Thanks for the video. FYI, for those wondering about the 16 f/2.8. In a word, amazing. Sharp, compact, etc etc

The leather straps are to protect the camera. So the iron won't damage the body. This includes the side effect, that it won't make any sound.

Dear Omar, my name is Fabio and I decide move for Fujifilm (old passion) after use Canon, Panasonic, Sony, Pentax. I am just enthusiastic but to be honestly I don't know which camera I should buy. I use for travel, family and casual situations, more shoots them videos and now I have in mind X-E3, T20 or T30. The 2 first are in very good price, manly T20 that is very good.... Regards Fabio

Went to the Fujifilm store with cash to buy the Fujifilm xt30 but returned without it
    Why?
    1) The electronic viewfinder is BAD...blurry and grainy.
    2) There is lot of lag if you move the camera viewing through the EVF
    3) Its too small for even medium sized ladies hands
    4) You are bound to click on the buttons on the back accidentally.
    5) The diopter correction dial is too small to use
    6) It was a total disappointment for me
I checked Sony A6400 and it was leaps and bound ahead of Fujifilm XT30, it will certainly be a better buy!

If you are a left eye photographer be careful as the narrowness of the body means when I tried one, my right thumb and my nose clashed. Makes it very uncomfortable to use through the eye-piece. The XT3 has just that much more width to the body to avoid this.

Hey! Awesome videos man, came across them fairly recently and loving it. Question tho! Been in the market for a travel camera (DSLR is just too bulky lol) and have been heavily considering the XT4 or the XT30 (XT40 if that comes out before i buy a camera) Have you had the opportunity to carry around the XT4 with a small prime? Would you consider it too heavy for a relatively compact travel camera set up? i know the XT30 is much smaller and has the same sensor, and i don't currently own a weather sealed camera. However, i wanted something weather sealed so i don't have to ever worry about rain or anything of that sort. I'd say my hands are on the medium-large size and i generally prefer having something that fits well in the hand.

When comparing which camera to buy today, the X-T1 is also an interesting contender. Here you get them in good or very good shape for around 300 Euros. I paid 325 for one like new, inluding the excellent large grip (MHG-XT). X-T1 is still being able to make stunnishing photos like when the camera was released and hyped. I'm now considering a X-T2 or X-T30 or X-T3 as a "second" body for my X-T1 (or likely make the X-T1 then the "second" ;-) ) What I don't like about the T2 and T3 is that they got heavier and bigger. The T30 would be interesting, but with glasses I will likely much prefer the EVF from the T2/T3 I guess. Haven't had a chance so far to test any of these in real life.

The only thing makes X-T30 users dissappointed is about its lack of tethering feature. Yes, you absolutely can't connect X-T30 to any laptop/desktop for tethering shoot neither by wire nor wirelessly. You can only connect it with Fuji smartphone app with super slow bluetooth connection.
Why Fuji only gives PC/laptop tethering feature for XT-3, X-Pro, & X-H series when other brands like Canon give their users tethering feature even for its cheapest camera under 700$?
This is my only dissappointment about my X-T30.

  • @btpaulen
    @btpaulen 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Just got mine last night. It's tiny coming from EOS (then I didn't drag my EOS around anymore..) - but MAN is there something this beauty CANNOT do? I went for the kit (18-55) and an extra 50 f/2 for portraits. Some say that one is the best for b/w because of some micro contrast. Which I don't know what is - but it really sounded cool... :)
I do bump the Q-button. And I think the menu is veery extensive and a bit hard to navigate (where did I adjust....). I went for a quite large (20.000mAh) USB-C battery pack, so I can charge when using it. Don't know if it replaces the need for another battery, but we'll see.
Another thing: what do you use for grabbing your screen when making the videos? You process it in Premiere or something?

Was so happy to hear that the XT-20 was one of Fuji best sellers and I can totally see why. This particular line just hits that sweet spot.
As far as after market batteries, I used some before and they were fine and definitely much cheaper. But for some reason, after some time, they expanded somehow and when I put them in the camera, they get stuck in there. It's hard to get them out. Decided to stick to the Fuji batteries now.

Hey Omar...I am actually thinking of replacing my xt3 with xt30 as prefer a smaller kit. I know you prefer these smaller models over XT3, so much so that you haven't got a grip :-)
However, when I tried xt30 in a shop, that Q button kept getting pressed all the time! Maybe after a long use, the muscle memory will avoid that being pressed.

I want to get this but in future I know I will be rigging it up, with USB powerbank, Microphone and HDMI output to something like the Atomos Ninja V. I kept hearing that you couldn't build it into a rig very well, so I was wondering if you could try doing that, build this tiny thing into a full rig.
Edit: to make it clear, some reviewers have said that you can't insert adjacent plugs at the same time. I want to see if you agree.

Akshay Anand will get to that in a future video. But yes. Ports are crowded.

Can you please do a low light test? Also, I'm torn between the Sony A7II vs the X-T30. I'm coming from the Canon T3i. Mostly going to use it for stills. Any recommendation?

Hey Omar, with the new joystick, have the direct access buttons been lost or are they still in the joystick?
