Sick right now. Been on an incredible 8 month long fitness program. Seeing such good gains. Like guys - I have muscles now. PEOPLE TELL ME I look big now. Guys I’ve been skinny as fuck my whole entire life. I’m 37, I’ve never gotten a single compliment on my body. I am sick now and this episode brought me to tears because I’ve been so depressed and sad unable to exercise. Thank you guys so much for your podcast. Saved me from going into a dark dark place. Thank you so much.

I used to get injured all the time when I started lifting heavy and had no idea what I was doing. But learning proper form, technique, priming, recovery, and programming helped immensely. Now it's very, very rare for me to find myself injured.

@@stormrhode2330 after every push day I have pain in my right shoulder I joined gym 6 months before and maintained good diet and even I gain 5 kg weight now I'm thinking to take rest for 1 month as my pain is not going away. it's really hurts when you see yourself growing and suddenly it feels that you are stuck now. Will I lose my strength if I skip gym for one month?

Great tips. After getting back to the gym after Covid, I tweaked my left shoulder - I decided then (prior to listening to this podcast) that I will address mobility and stability of my entire body - during such a process, I started having soreness in my right hip - after listening to this podcast, I realized I need to slowdown (as trying to work at home and support my 11 yr old son in online school) and then ease back in...

Desperately needed this. Just shy of 2wks from when i ruptured my achilles. Have since had surgery but as described by Sal couldn't have come at a worse time interms of when i had began making substantial gains in the gym. A real test of patience.

Excellent advice. Sometimes we become a little too impatient and we don't see the value in working our way out from a small dose of exercise. Definitely the downside of overdoing it outweighs the upside of taking a little longer to get back in the swing of things.

For healing purposes... is it recommended to stay at maintenance calories with higher protein? Or a deficit? I just had hernia repair and can't workout for 4 weeks (per md). Hernia was small. No mesh needed.

If the dr says no heavier then 20 pounds. Is it ok to lift no more then 20 pounds a week after umbilical hernia surgery? It was small. Only 3cm. I feel fine. Doesnt hurt. Ive been doing very light workouts with little dumbells.

The medical system really needs to restrict cortisone shots to athletes that are in season and should educate those people that in off-season the problem area needs to be rehabbed/healed in some way.

I look forward to this episode. I work at a school and have been on and off sick since the end of January. My progress in the gym has declined and it's hurting my self esteem bc I just got another stomach bug and it's currently hard to eat and get my calories I'm so scared all my progress will go down the drain and I'm just trying to get well and not lose muscle and momentum and courage

Wait until you're completely healed, otherwise you'll weaken your immune system and make it worse. Worst case scenario you end up in the hospital.
