Rishe Irmgard Weitzner, a duke's daughter, has a secret: she died at the age of 20 and returned to the moment five years prior when her engagement was called off. Now, on her seventh go-around, she's determined to live to a ripe old age and spend it relaxing. I love how certain Arnold was that Rishe escaped by jumping out of the window when Theodore told him that there were windows in that room. And to be fair, I can't blame him, after all that's what she was doing when he first met her.

This also really puts into perspective how much of a monster Arnold is at combat. This is Rishe without physical conditioning. Rishe at her peak could barely cut his cheek.
Right after that Arnold had to pull her back like "Alright that's enough you're going to traumatize the poor boy."
I love this scene so much. Between the delivery of the speech, Rishe's proficiency with the dagger, and the way she didnt pull punches for anyone without killing a single one of them (might be a little skeptical of the fate for that last guy, though), it's brilliant. Also gotta love how this is the first instance we've seen where Rishe shows that she can get just as dark as her soon to be husband can be. 😂
Last note: does anyone else think its a shame that Arnold didnt get to see her skills in person? He obviously has no doubt in her skills, but imagine his face if he got to see what she can do up close. It would have been PRICELESS.
I suspect he is just as skilled. So yeah they are perfect match for each other

The moment the dainty damsel you kidnapped goes straight THROUGH your guards and starts to explain how you should sadistically cripple your hostage to prevent escape, is the moment you need to consider a career change.
Which is sort of that prince Theodore does at the end of the episode.

'So, you imprisoned her in an upper floor room with a window, in a wooden house, with a locked door, and some guards outside?'
She arrives, and his first guess is 'Did you jump out the window?', second is 'Did you punch a hole in the wall?' and she goes like 'I walked out the door like a normal person!'.
Arnold really lost this bingo, as we can see her choosing the door and the guards, instead of window or wall.
Also, the animation is super clean, and it is cool to see her only using non-lethal means.
Like a normal person😆😆 and then the flashbacks of her dominating her way to the door- taking out 1 guard after another.
Up to this point she only had used windows to exit places like jumping off of a balcony, sneaking out of the palace where she was supposedly a hostage fiance, etc,... To him she was always sneaking out so logically he would assume she would do the sneaking out method because it is technically the easiest. He doesn't know the true extent of her combat skills and that she would feel comfortable enough to take on multiple guards outside of the door. So logically speaking the window was the most logical answer, but then that's another reason why he fell for her... She isn't predictable. She doesn't take the path of least resistance.
I have a feeling that Rishe knows what "imprisoning someone" means because this happened (to her or she witnessed it) in one of her previous lives, and it's freaking me out. If I'm not mistaken, there wasn't much info about her 5th life so far, so what happened?! Also, Arnold is so used to being surprised by Rishe that he didn't even question if she could escape, he just knew she would.
I was thinking this was how she was taught/ had to imprison someone in one of her past lives

All we know is in her 5th loop she was a hunter.
It probably happend when she joined the army
I actually had to look up her 5th life again because even though she said it, I did not remember. It was the ep with the dancing and she was trying to avoid the knight recruit teacher with a sensing skill (hunter, so to detect prey I guess).
I'm also guessing it was her 5th life because not only was she a hunter, she also was somewhat like a gorilla warrior when the war broke out.
Arnold was like “good luck holding her prisoner”
"I'm not here to save her, I'm here to save you from here. There's a big difference."
She's the kind of girl you don't want to mess around
Rishe is so badass but acts humble and bashful whenever Arnold points her out. 😂
Prince Theodore: “I’ve had your fiancé captured. If you ever want to see her again, you’ll cooperate.”
Prince Arnold: “Oh I’m not worried. 😏”
Theodore: “Wha ?”
Arnold: “She’s not trapped inside with your men, your men are trapped in there with HER.”
This show continues to exceed my expectations. Especially with the following scenes after this encounter.

@@orangeapples I meant at the time, why Theodore planned to have Rishe kidnapped and imprisoned. She knew it was not just out of making Arnold give up something (his line in succession) in exchange for her freedom, plus no surprise Rishe was able to escape thanks to her past experiences and Theodore not known how to properly imprison someone
I have yet to read the LN, but I am not surprised that her knowledge on the matter came from being the one to do imprison someone and not vice versa

This scene could have been so awesome if the princes walked back to the room to see the half dozen man on the ground that she knocked out, not even killed.
I love that we get to see the animated glimpse of some of her knowledge, ruthless mentality, and skills from her 5th loop!

Uhm. Miss. I must say. That sounds a bit more like torture than just "taking someone prisoner". Unless that person has superpowers of some kind and that's really only going to slow them down.

That or she witnessed it happen, both are kind of sad though.

I like that we see her rampage in silence while she explains how the prince messed up in inprisoning her.
I've only known her for 2 minutes now and I'm already loving her attitude and best of all she makes very valid points
This clip got me to watch this show and holy cow the first 4 episodes are fantastically written and staged. I feel like it made me understand the appeal behind romance novels. A really great anime. Worth a watch if you're on the fence about it.
I really hope they continue this one for more seasons.

Honestly the unexpectedly high quality of the direction of this scene made me watch the show. Suprisingly really good even if romance isn't a genre i care for.

If anyone has any romance animes with a strong female character like Riche, please can you recommend them to me!! She was soo bad a** in this scene. If you take someone prisoner, do it properly lol. I just wish Arnold got to see her because I know he would have been even more amazed at how incredible she is. Its crazy because if you think about her 6th life, when she was fighting Arnold, even at peak strength, he was still the most skilled. Just proves how skilful and powerful he really is. Its going to be an interesting journey for them both and I really hope we get even more training sessions between Riche and Arnold. Seriously love them! Such a power couple yet each individually very interesting and strong!

This is the scene that got me to watch the anime, and that was a good decision! Hopefully a season 2 we’ll be made.
Theo never expected his prisoner to be armed (it was stupid for him or his men to not check for those) or know martial arts (that is somewhat more understandable, especially when she was able to non-lethally use a dagger when even professionals would fail at that.)
I'm wondering what that particular timeline was like where she learned to break prisoners arms and legs...
Either her 5th or 6th lives, likely her 5th.
@@Compucles id actually give more weight to 6th life or 3rd life. the Hunter/Spy life didnt have an abundance of manpower, madness, or stationary bases of operation.

Why her 3rd life? There'd be no need for that kind of knowledge when she was an alchemist.

You know what the scene did good? Alternating between present and the past so when the 2nd prince was backing away, the scene swaps to the last guard as Rishe was approaching both of them, menacingly.

Would have made more sense if she took her shoes off, all that practical prep (hiding a weapon, tearing the skirt for better movement) but staying in footwear terrible for fighting (heels)
