I never thought I would fall in love with palace court dramas, especially 2 of them in the same year, but then this and Raven of the Inner Palace happened and I was so wrapped up in their stories and cast.
Considering you liked this one, I will try the other one, as i actually LIKE Palace Intrigues, as long as they aren't TOO cliché. Thank you for mentioning this, will try to return here to give my opinion on the other because i fricking love this one, tho the characters have alot to do with it too, obviously.

But they had no way to prove it, so they instead pretended that she just thought she was being picky, informed her that yes, she really is allergic, and feeding her that stuff was equivalent to poisoning her, and gave her some boards with instructions how to deal with it in the future. Next time it happens, they know she knows, and will be punished accordingly.

You're correct, the nervous lady sitting on the right of Maomao is the emperor's food taster. The one on the left of Maomao is Lishu's food taster, and the two other main concubine's food tasters are on the other side of the Emperor compared to Maomao, so further away and not visible on those shots except when the camera zoom out a lot.

Her ladies in waiting being petty and bullies decided to swap the concubines respective dishes , The one with jelly fish substitute was supposed to be for Lishu , and so was the soup, but as mentioned Lishus lady in waiting swapped them before the party officially started . But in doing that she saved herself and Lishu from being poisoned because someone had laced her soup, now everyone thinks someone was trying to poison concubine Gyokuyou

You're correct, the nervous lady sitting on the right of Maomao is the emperor's food taster. The one on the left of Maomao is Lishu's food taster, and the two other main concubine's food tasters are on the other side of the Emperor compared to Maomao, so further away and not visible on those shots except when the camera zoom out a lot.

@@Nabee_H so basically, Lishu is young and to any outsider (mostly her own ladies in waiting) think she’s a picky eater , when in actuality she’s just allergic to fish and this is a time period were that sort of thing isn’t well understood .
Her ladies in waiting being petty and bullies decided to swap the concubines respective dishes , The one with jelly fish substitute was supposed to be for Lishu , and so was the soup, but as mentioned Lishus lady in waiting swapped them before the party officially started . But in doing that she saved herself and Lishu from being poisoned because someone had laced her soup, now everyone thinks someone was trying to poison concubine Gyokuyou
I am somewhat terrified and intrigued at the same time.
I mean why would she think it's nonchalant? She could have been doing the sensible thing and rushing to the infirmary (she wasn't) or to go puke it up away from the Royal Family (which she tried to do).
