Army deployed in London to counter-terrorism: Op Temperer

  • The British Army deploy to the streets of the UK following multiple terrorist attacks as part of Operation Temperer. 🇬🇧 🪖
Police increased armed patrols along with the deployment of the military across the United Kingdom as part of 'Operation Temperer' - the UK's response to the terrorism threat level being raised to the maximum level of critical, following the Manchester Arena bombings on the 22nd May.
The first part of the video shows how the Queen's Guard Household Cavalry - The Life Guard on horseback are escorted by armed police and soldiers away from changing of the guard. All though in parade gear, these soldiers are not purely for tourist attraction - they can be mobilised to fight battles and maintain security if necessary.
The rest of the video shows armed police and soldiers standing outside key locations such as Buckingham Palace, Scotland Yard, Westminster Palace and Horse Guards Parade in central London as well as patrolling in Armed Response Vehicles.
It's important to remember the deceased and respect the victims of the attacks. Rest In Peace.
And to thank the police/security/military and emergency services for the heroic services they provide 24/7, 365 days a year to keep us safe and protect us from harm.

My thoughts are with all those affected by last night's terrorist attack on London, last week's terrorist attack on the Manchester Arena and in March, the terrorist attack on the Westminster Bridge and inside the grounds of Westminster Palace.
May the deceased Rest In Peace. May the injur recover. And may the police, law and security services find all those responsible and serve justice!
Thank you to the brave emergency services who responded, as they do every day all year round, to keep us safe, to protect us from harm and to save/treat us when all does go wrong.
This video shows how the police, law, security and military services reacted in the awake of the previous terrorist attack on Manchester; prompting terrorist threat level Critical and Operation Temperer to be in-acted, hence the recording of this video on the bank holiday Monday.
As a result let this video be a reminder that the UK will be defiant against such attacks, and that we also must respect our amazing services for what they do to keep us safe and protected.

This made me really homesick and my thoughts are with England even in my subconscious. I'm not British born, but I've been to England 14 times and 9 years is too long. The trips there were long trips and I hope your country can heal from the horrendous tragedies that effect you everyday. It looks like you are doing a great job. Keep up the good work and stay strong and calm and carry on. Love from your American friend Benjamin.

Thank you very much too it's something sacred to me because of all the good times in England. So sad it's come to this. I'm glad the security issues are being dealt with swiftly and professionally, however. It's serious when there are up to 10 attacks in a year. Crazy. What is wrong with people.

Brilliant video as ever, Cobra. And the tribute at the end is greatly appreciated. As part of the Emergency Service family, me and my colleagues come in for a lot of criticism at times. Videos like this, which not only educate the public, but also remind us that the vast majority of you guys do support and appreciate us is humbling to say the least. Thank you my friend, and to all your subscribers. 👍👷

    • @CobraEmergency

      Thanks
I couldn't make much of a tribute video towards the Manchester attack and following the London Bridge attack as I didn't have enough footage of memorials like I did the Westminster attack, so decided to add it onto the end of this video.
I've done the same with my tribute to the Grenfell Tower disaster victims by adding a piece about it onto the end of a video of London Fire Brigade in action at another incident.
I'm glad you guys appreciate our support! I just thought a video like this would tell the public what the emergency services and forces are doing to keep us safe.

    • @Alexx120493
      @Alexx120493 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I think there are units of regular armed police that use the MP7 as well. If you ask me they are not the right choice for police use. They use a 4,6x30mm high velocity round that was originally developed to allow rear echelon soldiers (like tank crews, truck drivers etc.) to have a weapon that was capable of penetrating soft body armor. I think it is very doubtful that these police constables will ever encounter a situation where this capability would be necessary. On the other hand the projectile is very light and has a tiny crosssection, which leads to an immense decrease in stopping power on non vital hits. I think the british police would be better of just issuing 9x19mm submachine guns. That would keep cost down (procuring the weapons themselves and the ammo) and they are probably the most effective weapon system for inner city police use.
