Dude keeps calling it a novelty when it's clearly not, this is not a toy which "novelties" are. But like most knife people on TH-cam they have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.
Just bought one as a brain spike for tuna. Wanted an ice pick but they don’t come with sheaths and can’t be running around a swaying boat with a loose icepick in my pocket, then found this and it’s perfect, keep it in the pocket and when I catch one grab it deploy it and put the fish out of it’s misery.
it is like a normal otf switchblade the spring is only powerful enough to extend the blade and will stop. it will not penetrate most things maybe fruit tho and maybe flesh if there is no bone in the way
is this considered a knife i live in texas where bigger dual edged blades are now legal all the way up to swords and daggers dirks poniards ect and im looking for a good hidden self defense that would be in a more dagger otf form
The Dudette. The issue with that is in Texas spike is not a weapon or tool label therefore it would have to fall under a different label lets say i get it and i go to court for defense use they won't classify it as a spike they will either say it falls under knife or baton laws the reason i asked is because the auto mechanism can possibly make this a knife which is legal however I am not certain batons are and therefore if this is seen as a baton by my states laws I can go to jail my thinking is this will be seen as an automatic dirk which is legal
raven sousa I'm not American, but I do know that Texts has passed the Knife/Gun law where you can carry and own knives and guns now. However, I think it'll be considered as a concealed weapon. But it's quite literally an ice pick, so tell your law enforcers that you use it for a tool. You can use it as a tool. I live in Australia (tight arse country about knives and guns) and I know that this is actually legal. So I'm sure, if it's legal in Australia, it'll be legal in Texas.
The Dudette. That is quite surprising actually I dated someone from there and I was always under the impression anything over 3 inches and non locking was bad i know it's not European but i figured it was of similar laws I guess for an ice pick there they see it differently and your right i looked deeper into our laws the only mention of our laws for spikes are the cop spikes that lay in roads I do believe however in my case while still legal this particular spike is considered a tactical pen just by more research knowing that I may pick one up thanks for that interesting info on Australia laws
I live in Texas. Freakin’ swords are legal to carry here now. If you seriously think you’re going to have to defend yourself, a sword or a machete will do you more good than this little novelty item.
Practical use? People have been killing things and other people with pointed sticks since the dawn of time. I think a aluminum and stainless steel spike would work pretty well lol
If it's not a knife, and only a novelty, why were you looking for "something" (a novelty) that was made in the USA and is a good price? You talk like it isn't good for anything as in "I guess you COULD use it for an ice pick" You say you were looking for an OTF, that means you were looking for an OTF knife, but bought an OTF spike that is just a novelty? I get the impression that for some reason you are trying NOT to say its a weapon and you bought it as a weapon because OTF knives are either illegal where you are or too expensive.
If only it had more traction on the outside. If you were to use this against someone when you hit bones inside someone your hand would immediately slide down so the spike wouldn’t be nearly as affected as it could be. It a shame when people put out self defense products but don’t consider human anatomy.
All depends on how ya hold it. Certain folks that study and train seriously with a folding stiletto and to a lesser extent certain Bowie styles will not have this issue. Untrained folks could have the issue you are describing…. Now a quick and cheap fix would be to add grip tape to the barrel….
I'm in California , highly illegal !!! Just purchased one in black. 🤘🤘🤘
Rock on!
Nice. Screw the government. California laws are bullshit
I bought mine from ebay for $22. it's a great edc defense tool.
LAMR0NT0N how durable is it. I actually came across it a few minutes ago

Have you looked into the winkler "pick" or the microtech tac-p
Novelty when its stuck in someone's throat or eye socket. It's definitely a self defense or last resort weapon lol
I'd like to see a comparison of this and the imported version that is half the price. The imported one is made quite well.
Ethan Walker is the same exact one just different prices brother!
I bought that exact one off blade HQ for $16
They have it on eBay and Amazon for about $25
Do a tear down video showing the internal parts.
Would this be considered a " Pok'e-Man" ??
Yes you could definitely do so with this
Yessss an ice pick.....
Does that count as a knife to the police ?is that strong enough to punch a hole through something if you press the button close to the object?
it is like a normal otf switchblade the spring is only powerful enough to extend the blade and will stop. it will not penetrate most things maybe fruit tho and maybe flesh if there is no bone in the way
But what is the difference between the normal one and the "no limit" version?
Mr. Smiley absolutely nothing. It's the same tool
Mr. Smiley One is made in the USA, in this case it really makes no difference.

Nup. It's a Spike.

The eBay versions say their made in China. Either they are clones on eBay, or the USA claimed production is false for the BladeHQ version.
It is hard to know who to believe anymore!
@@CoyoteEDC The Global Economy facilitates deception of product origin and design.
I’m guessing the ones on eBay are from a different manufacturer.
But I could be wrong.
@@censusgary no these imported pen spikes have been around for 15 years to my knowledge there are no usa made one. i believe its a falce claim
Assume the BladeHQ description is deceptive. Unless they are importing parts kits from Taiwan and assembling them in the U.S.
Practical use? People have been killing things and other people with pointed sticks since the dawn of time. I think a aluminum and stainless steel spike would work pretty well lol
I keep it in my car, if someone attacks me I'm gonna get em' right in the eye
Not a bad use for it!
Whoever came up with that idea must’ve serve prison time. SMH
What was the price$$ of that?
$40 No idea if they are still around for sale anywhere.
Its not made in the usa broski.

LOL I don't remember this was a long time ago :)
If you put that against a object and press the button will it penetrate the the object?
Most objects, no.
