Your new dresses are beautiful and I really admire the fact that you know exactly what you like. I am an avid reader as well and love that you include books in your videos. The garage looks great and just shows what can be done in a short amount of time if we just take the first step. Keep on inspiring us Hilary!!
Good morning Hilary. I enjoyed the video 😊. The garage looks so good, nice job ☺️. Also, I love the two dresses you’re keeping. Hope you have a good day today.🕊️
Hi Hilary, i love your dress collection, I am a sucker for tiny floral print. I stopped buying polyester, I always feel warm and uncomfortable, if I see something I love and the label says polyester or a mix with polyester I put it right back on the rack… I love cotton, and linen especially for the warmer months.i just bought my slip on shoes on Amazon and received them two days ago, also a neutral and a black…😉
@@rosannasauereisen2827 I know it’s crazy everything in the stores is polyester, to be honest I find the nicest tops at thrift stores, all good name brands that are cotton, it makes such a difference But sometimes I go thrifting and walk out with nothing, and sometimes I find the best bargains….
Beautiful dresses Hillary - love the small floral prints too. Your a great example for your daughters & sons. The size or duration of the task doesn’t matter - you get it done! Have a great blessed weekend. 🙏🏼💕😊
Tied the zuke lasagna and it did not disappoint! Amber hit it out of the park. Not soggy as with other veggie lasagnas. Did not top with extra cheese and still it was delish. 😋
Thank you!!! I was looking for the best cheap AND WIDE WIDTH! summer sandals, and I am very happy these Amazon Essentials you're showing are all of that!
I have always been a voracious reader but almost a year ago I got a TV and became a couch potato for months. I finally got reading again this week and chose one of my favourite writers for the first book -- Sophie Hannah. This one is called Woman with a Secret. I wanted to mention it since I know you like Sophie too. :)
We definitely have had the winds here in the Bay Area in California. They were 60 miles per hour last week, and amazingly they were 100 miles per hour last month. Lots of trees down and power out for many people. I loved your recipe and have bought the ingredients to make the lasagna.
HAPPY THURSDAY Hillary, family, and fur baby Finn. Absolutely putting on a timer to clean helps so much. Thanks for reminder, I need to go get new sandles, and new sneakers, we walk our little dogs about 2 miles a day. I like the dresses. Enjoy your week. STTB
Hi Hilary, here some books: Carlos Zafon "The shadow of the wind"; James Herriot books (would definitely be fun for your daughters as well); Betty McDonald "The egg and I"; everything from Agatha Christie
Don’t be embarrassed about your garage! We too have been working in projects lately and the garage is a mess! Painting the house, building new library bookcases etc. thank for the reminder that just one hour clean up a week makes a difference. Hopefully we can get to that this week.
I just have to say that the Lost + Wander dress was so pretty that i immediately paused your video to search for it! I found three prints on ThredUp of that exact dress that i love and now have 3 dresses on their way to me! Thanks so much for telling the brand of each item.
We for sure have been going through the sheds the same way as you went through your garage. They were a mess after winter lol. Your garage looks so amazing after just that one hour. So great! Will definitely be trying that recipe. It looks amazing!
Love your style so much, your home and your clothes ❤. You’ve inspired me to wear dresses. The two dresses you’re keeping are so sweet. I’m also loving your book recommendations.
We all have areas like your garage that fall apart! I have found like you, to just set a timer and work hard for that amount of time, it is amazing what all you can accomplish!! Great job! Loved the dresses, and the bread looks so yummy! Thank you!
If you can find Birkenstocks in a style you like, they’re so much more comfortable and last years. I’m a convert and picked a strappier pair that are now my go to.
My feet are somewhat narrow and I always feel like Birks look too clunky on me personally, but I do think they look lovely on others and you can't deny the quality!
Have you read Louise Penny’s Detective Gamache series? I really love the whole premise of these books. I am up to the 4th book in the series. Looking forward to more!
This was so refreshing! Watched it on my lunch break at work. I did the same thing over the winter to my garage. Just throw it in the garage and clean it out in the spring. Love the dresses! And the bread looks so yummy! Thanks for making my Thursday!
I always look forward to your videos and seeing your lovely home. I enjoy my Thursday morning coffee with you. I like the dresses, cute! I would like to see a garage organization or the renovation into a room. I change my AC filters every 2-3 months, depending on the season. My heat and AC are both on the same system; being in Florida, clean filters are a must for AC season.
Ok, you just gave me some motivation and a goal. I have a room in my basement that I call the Jar Room. It is an absolute mess, has spider webs, hundreds of mason jars and other jars. Jars need to be washed, gone through, organized, boxed and labelled for easy access. My goal is to tackle it in 1 hour increments. I am going to start today. Thanks, Hilary!
I do 1 hour cleaning as well it just helps the procrastination ( mentally) I set my phone timer….it’s works for me ….. love your outfits love your video I just love you sister. Lol I have the same dollar tree duster
You certainly got a lot accomplished in that garage in the one hour that you allotted to it. Great job! The dressers are adorable and look lovely on you. I do have a book recommendation for you. It's not a murder mystery, but suspenseful In its own right. "The Great Alone" by Kristen Hannah. Enjoy your day 😉
Hillary you are so sensible. I tend to be an impulse shopper and buy what I like. Than I get home and find things don't necessarily go with one another. I just finished getting rid of some clothes that are in such good shape but, I find I just don't wear them anymore. Im trying to be more mindful when I shop now.
Our garage looks the same this time of year especially when three seasons of weather happen in the same week or even the same day. Book recommendation for you: The Rook by Daniel O’Malley, released in 2012. It’s a mystery set in England about an obscure and mostly unknown British government agency that protects the humans from non-humans. It’s not science fiction nor is it paranormal and it’s not scary. There is cursing but there is a lot of tongue in cheek humor. I’ve read it and listened to it several times. The author has written two other follow up type books which I don’t think are nearly as good.
I do make a similar layered "lasagna" with zucchini, polenta slices and mushrooms with the meat and cheese layers. I am a huge fan of sun dried tomatoes. Their flavor is over the top delicious. And yes, I have used eggplant, and its just as good. Whenever I clean my garage .. I just do one wall at a time. If I have extra energy , I continue. But by saying one wall... I feel so accomplished when its done. Plus its a real motivator to continue. Before you know it.. the entire garage is done.
If your kids are old enough, I highly recommend having them read “Wonder” I actually loved reading it myself. The shack and unbroken are amazing books. And I’ve heard great things about the light between two oceans. I saw the movie which was good.
The Light Between Oceans is probably in my top 5 favorite books, I don't think I would be able to make it through the movie without sobbing so I've never tried to watch!
This video is packed full! I saw the 2 dresses you ended up keeping and the minute you showed them, I thought. "Those are her". I love making bread but sometimes the bread machine is just fun. And easy. Great video Hilary. xoxTXDeb I may have to get All Sinners Bleed from the library. Sounds good.

Good morning! Happy Thursday! I wait for your vlogs honestly. Have missed a few either when I am sick or on breaks or sometimes life happens and I never get to you tube. Just want to say that after I am done watching your vlogs I feel energised and motivated either to clean or organize, I do read a lot so that's added bonus with book recs and then cooking of course! Love doing that so finding new recipes is added bonus. I do not eat meat but I can always replace it with veg components. Overall you are the best. Aah..forgot to mention the dresses...the ones you kept are what I would keep too, I also loved the orange one but wish the lining was cotton, I don't do polyester either. The problem with me I have dresses as old as 10 years that still fit me and look as new, I don't wear them as often and I don't want to donate them as yet but that doesn't stop me from buying more. I have never tried ThreadUp , maybe will look into it. About the books right now I am reading Angels on the clothesline, a memoir by Ani Tuzman..on the 3rd chapter but it's really good.I also have The Second Husband by Kate White which I plan to read once I am done with this one. Will try to get All the sinners bleed next, Thanks much
The zucchini lasagna looks kinda like melanzane alla parmigiana. Although that’s a vegetarian dish I make it with ground beef and sometimes with tuna. Both delicious 😋 btw melanzane is eggeplant.
OMG - All the Sinners Bleed was my favourite books of 2023 and made my all time list. Voracious reader here too! Also loved Razorblade Tears by him. Not nearly as much but worth it.
I have tried to shop on thred up multiple times but I am always disappointed in their prices. Locally I can thrift quite a bit cheaper. But toddlers and babies make it harder to thrift right now so I decided it’s better to thrift for just a few dollars more than spend even more buying new. I did a few specific searches and found a few good deals on thred up! Thanks for the inspiration!
I relate 💯 to this! Yes the prices are often higher than a thrift store, but I can search specific terms, from a seemingly endless stock, from my home, have them delivered, and easily return what doesn’t work. I’m willing to pay a bit more for the convenience and selection! Hope yours work out!
