I want to say I look forward to your weekly videos. I only wish you had the time to film more of them. I have been a subscriber since your youngest was born and have watched you evolve over the years. God Bless!
At this time in my life once a week is working really well and I truly appreciate your support! Perhaps in the future things could change, but in order to not stress myself out and still offer quality content to you, one video is what I will be focusing on 💛
@mindvstongue Mrs Dan Dare here to say the same, but I understand that balancing life & work as a busy mum is tricky and we all have to try & do what works best for our family. It's definitely always a juggle.
I, too, am one who look forward to your weekly videos. Though we are in a different season of life, the basic ideas of enjoying life, making every day choices more simpler and resetting your kitchen each night are beneficial to everyone! Thank you for sharing and making content that brings peace and joy in each episode! Blessings to you and your family.
The snow looked so beautiful and how fun to slide down the porch stairs. That bread bag is a great idea. I’ll have to look into that. I don’t ever have a container tall enough to put loaves of bread I make so that’s a good reusable option. 😊
My kids would love that snow. We are in Minnesota but have had hardly any snow all winter. Yesterday was 50° and sunny and I was in heaven. I don't remember ever having a winter like this.
I love dresses too and nothing is more cozy than a well made sweater. I love your style choices. I also love midi woolen skirt and matching top sets, which can be used seperately, as well. Dresses are classic styles that are in fashion for years, so it is very savvy way to build up an affordable classic fashionable wardrobe.
Every time you share, I feel like you a a dear friend. I will say, “Good job!” When a recipe turns out. Or, “That’s cute on you!” When you show us your dress. ❤😂 Thank you for sharing with us. You are a joy to watch!
Yesterday we had beautiful heavy snow showers here in the mountains of Western North Carolina. It was beautiful. It didn’t stick since it had warmed up in the last week. Really enjoyed watching you make bagels. 😊❤😊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
You got a lot of snow. The sweaters and colors looked lovely on you. Always amazed of the meals you cook in the kitchen all look delicious. Thanks for sharing your day with us ❤
Your backyard looks like a winter wonderland, so glad the kids got to experience the fun of snow. I love to wear dresses too all year. I’ll have to try your dinner recipe. It looks yummy.
Wow 10 inches of snow is amazing! This winter has been one in Washington where we haven’t gotten more than a dusting. Thank you as always for your lovely videos! I am also a SAHM and tend to be a naturally anxious person. I love listening to your videos especially in the morning, they are so calming and help me remember to take pride and joy in my homemaking (which I do enjoy). One of my favorite channels! 🫶
We’ve definitely had an atypical amount of snow this season, maybe we got yours 😊 The peace that passes all understanding comes from Jesus Christ alone 💕
I accidentally came across, and ordered some fleece lined tights on Amazon and what a game changer. I chose different weight fleece lining ( some brands offer it) so I can wear them depending if it’s just chilly outside or very cold.
So, I was not pleased with the cost of store bought bread and went to the thrift and found a breadmaker for $10. It made a beautiful loaf and the ingredients together cost as much as one store bought loaf, of which I can make many, many loaves with! Thanks for inspiring me!
Oh how I remember wearing dresses when I was young. I would love to have a Mama who makes homemade bagels, bread and banana muffins!!!! And the meal looked amazing... especially the carrots!!! I do make a red curry chicken with fresh green beans, basil and green bell peppers with the coconut milk. Delicious. I have never tried Tahini sauce at home. Will give it a go.
I love that white wicker piece on your 'mudroom'. Isn't it funny how we are so ready for Spring and then Mother Nature decides to bring winter back with a vengeance, haha! Lovely video and the curry meal is one I will have to try!
For an even easier chicken curry dinner. Consider adding the veggies to the curry after you add your onions. I add celery, carrots , potatoes, fennel bulb, mushrooms, green peppers , peas ( or any combination of the above I have. I basically use this recipe to use any veggies I need to use up ( except for broccoli.Adding the carrots gives it enough sweetness so I don’t add any other sweetener and you won’t have to roast veggies separately. I also use coconut oil for the rice. I use the same recipe but change it up by using shrimp or adding a finely grated apple or some apple sauce and/ or changing the veggies to the curry.
I've recently been thinking about moving back up North. However, seeing everyone's snow pictures, has given me pause. At my age, I don't think I can shovel anymore. Loving these recipes. I'd like to try the curry one because my husband was allergic to curry, but I love it.
Curry chicken is one of my most favorite dishes! I decided to purchase a bread machine on marketplace after watching your videos and have been enjoying making my own bread. I have been losing weight per my doctor’s orders. I have lost 21 pounds and have 7 pounds to reach my goal. I’ve been eating far less processed foods so making my own bread helps. I will definitely be purchasing a bread bag-I’ve been using a plastic bag, but would much rather use a cloth bag. I just picked up The Housemaid by Frieda McFadden for my book club and the lady that I purchased it from, said, it was the best mystery she ever read. Love your channel, thank you for sharing your tips with us!
That's wonderful, ah, so happy for you! Yes I've had that on my reading list for a while but never seem to be able to get a copy, I'll have to look again!
Great video Hillary a little bit of everything for everyone. I loved snow days. Watching your video brought back memories including the smell of soggy snow soaked outdoor gear & fresh baked bread in the house. Using Curry cooking & coming in from the cold to warmth inside the smell is awesome & comfy. Have a great weekend. You really are an awesome wife & mother. 😊🙏🏼💕☕️ 🥯
Hey Hilary, I haven't had much chance to watch youtube recently so i'm behind on your videos. But i wanted to reach out to let you know you just saved my butt lol. I had a major senior moment recently and turned the wrong burner down with the result that there was an 1/8 inch of black burned onto a stainless steel pot. I remembered your viral video from when Evie was a baby and tried your technique. And it worked great!! I am on a budget and you saved me having to buy a new (expensive) pot so thank you!! I encourage all your viewers to check your most popular videos list once in a while. Lots of good stuff on your channel. Have a great day. Paula in Ontario ❤❤❤❤
I always look forward to Thursdays to see your latest video. You are an inspiration although I'm an empty-nester. Your bagels look delicious and I will plan to try the chicken curry. Take care.
Hillary, do you have a book list anywhere that I could print off? My 20 year old daughter, Esther, loves the same type of books that you do, and I'd love to give her a list to go through!
I love your recipes. I think your family eats so well and I think you probably saved some money by making all of your own baked goods and meals I love the carrot recipe and we'll try it.
Hi Hilary, wonderful video, I have been wanting to start baking my bread products from scratch and have really been inspired by all of your recipes. I am getting closer to actually trying a sourdough starter. The snow looks so beautiful! I live in Southern California, so I can drive to the mountains to see snow but it’s so pretty to look out your window and see that winter wonderland. Blessings to you and your family ❤.
Another lovely video. I so enjoy your recipes; in fact, I have started an Old World Home section in my file. I also love dresses (and sweaters!) year round. I would love to see a video featuring Finn, as I now have 3 pups of my own, since my precious 3 children now have littles (and pups) of their own. 🥰
Hello, Would you tell me please how you prepped the eggplant when you added it to your tahini carrot recipe? (peeled?; sticks or rounds?; precooked or raw?) Thank you.

You and I have the same style. I also wear dresses and medi skirts all year round and wear them with leggings during the cold months. But sorry Hilary, I can’t afford to drop over $100 for a sweater. Thrifting and Kohls clearance and Walmart is what I can afford. Not something from Lily Silk.
All that snow looks amazing..its on my bucket list to play in the snow..at the moment we are having a heatwave in South Africa!!Thank you for sharing the bagel recipe, I definitely want to give it a go. Have you been able to find a sourdough sandwich loaf recipe yet?Much love
Stay cool! I’ve definitely made sourdough sandwich bread that is tasty, but it doesn’t keep as well and isn’t as soft, so no I haven’t tried any others successfully
Umm the bread looks so good! I didn't grow up eating this type of bread, all my mom ever made was homemade biscuit or cornbread. It was delicious though. But do you have videos that could show me how to get started and maybe learn how to make these types of bread? I love yeast rolls but have no idea how to make them 😂❤
Hey Hillary could you link those straight leg jeans you wore with that striped shirt and also that green sweater you had on during the bagels?? Love your wardrobe!!
I was wondering if you find the homemade breads & bagels to be less expensive in the end? Obviously, fresh tastes better, but I am looking to cut costs on groceries without sacrificing too much quality. Thank you :)
I’d say definitely yes it is cheaper, but it also depends on the quality of ingredients. You can buy an inexpensive loaf of bread and make the same for cheaper. You can buy an expensive loaf of bread or make the same, maybe it’s cheaper or the same price. A big part of t is stocking up on ingredients which can seem pricier but once you’re stocked then the individual output is cheaper than the store bought high quality version
I love the shawl collar cardigan. Everything looks lovely on you. I would love to know how you find the silk pillowcase as I would like to purchase one. I am reading ‘First Lie Wins’ by Ashley Elston and really enjoying it! It’s my daughters and she has warned me there is some cursing in it!
I felt like we got zero warning for that heavy snow, it was very pretty though 😀Maybe I will try the Ruth Ware book again, it is sitting right here. I am reading A Flicker in the Dark and its ok~ I don't know if I am in a reading slump or what because its taking me forever to finish it. The carrots and curry looked really yum. Thanks for the video!!
I definitely get into slumps too when I’m not that invested in the story, so I try to set aside an hour or so to power through and if I’m still not interested then I’ll let it go
@@OldWorldHome The Ruth Ware book that is sitting here is one by one ~I started it and didn't really get into it but maybe I'll try again. I think its the one you just finished.

I’m really not brand specific and I only wash my hair about twice a week, but I do like to have a couple different options in the shower and never use the same thing twice in a row.
I made three batches of Bagels this past week, too! Same reason, hubby and son love them and requested I make more 🙂 I am happily obliged! Except I make them with Einkorn flour. I am working on filming my other einkorn flour bread items but the bagels was up for a while, if you are interested in Einkorn, please head over and check it out. 🙂
Great video. Hilary your gorgeous long hair and dress wardrobe..you look so beautifully feminine. I am impressed with all your bread recipes and meals. I’ve been a subscriber since a Evey was a baby and you have just become this expert cook in the kitchen. Too bad I haven’t grown in that area as well😬😬😬. Cooking just isn’t a love for me, but I so enjoy seeing how it has become that way for you.🥰
I saw on tv that Japan has freezing slick roads and in all their roadways, they have installed pop up sprinkler systems that shoot out a safe defreezer that melts ice...it is computerized! WHY doesnt USA do that?!
I feel that sometimes, but then I think of how good it will feel to wake up to a clean space. Generally I try to clean as I cook and have the kids help with the rest but some days it’s just a mess at the end! I have days when I only do the dishes and leave the rest but it bothers me so much in the morning it’s not worth it to me. But everyone’s different and we’re all just trying to manage our time and energy as best we can 💕
I want to say I look forward to your weekly videos. I only wish you had the time to film more of them. I have been a subscriber since your youngest was born and have watched you evolve over the years. God Bless!

I just saved the recipes to my files on my phone! So guess what I am doing tomorrow? ❤
Cooking just isn’t a love for me, but I so enjoy seeing how it has become that way for you.🥰
It’s more out of necessity but I do love to cook! Feeding 6 people well simply takes effort and I’m happy to do it 💚
I saw on tv that Japan has freezing slick roads and in all their roadways, they have installed pop up sprinkler systems that shoot out a safe defreezer that melts ice...it is computerized! WHY doesnt USA do that?!
I have such a hard time reseting my home. I am totally exhausted after I cook dinner.

We dress the same😊❤
