I automatically knew it was a suicide hotline. I like how they added that into the game. It's sad they dont speak real language. It be nice to hear them say that everything is going to be okay.
I have a detective sim who watched his chief die of old age at the precinct right in front of him and for the next three days all he wanted to watch on TV was "Sims of the Dead." How twisted is that?!?
Same! I usually know all but maybe 1 of the secrets these kind of videos have, but I didn't know about 75% of these. I'm impressed and it was really well-presented!
You probably know this one but... Short on upgrade parts and don't have money? When you fix something and have a pile to scavenge for parts, scavenge for parts, then go to throw it away. Before you get to a trash can, cancel the action, so the trash ends up on the floor. Now you can scavenge for parts again. Do this as many times as needed. Feels a bit like cheating, but hey, it's in the game. And if a cowplant dies, go into build move and move it, sometimes it will come back to life.
OR, you can kick your outdoor trashcan over repeatedly. Each trash pile can then be scavenged for parts. The trash can on your lot does not run out of trash/ parts like community trash cans do, so this can be done over and over. I just discovered this one today!
You shouldn't lock your vampire sim's favourite in your basement. Just add every favourite you find in a club and whenever your vampire is hungry start a gathering. The first one who comes gets the Meal Sim title for the day. ☺
Sims automatically dance with mannequins when they are placed on a home lot. If you set up a sales table at a spawn point for sims, you'll sell your stock faster, as sims are hit with the lure that brings them to the table, as they spawn. With the Kleptomaniac trait, you can steal again after the energised buff from it fades away/is cheated off. You can throw trash into the bonfire from Get Together, and the same fire also serves as an unbinding agent for voodoo (it'll light the bound sim on fire for a sec though). Not a functional secret, but the "cars" that pass by on the roads in sims 4's worlds, will stop if an animal crosses in front of them (one of the non-ownable ones). You can find more than just snowglobes in the boxes from City Living. I once found an entire keyboard in there. The teleport ability (from high Wellness skill) is not restricted by unroutable circumstances (unlike the vampire teleportation abilities, sadly), so you can teleport to any surface you can stand on (so flat roofs and the like), regardless of if there's a ladder or stairs (again, unlike the vampire bat and mist forms, which need a way to walk there, normally). I wish they would update the vampire abilities to act like the wellness teleport ability... **Edit: Well vamps and vamplings, it seems they've updated the teleportation system, so now vampires can teleport virtually anywhere, so long as it can be clicked on (just like the teleportation ability from level 7 of Wellness). They did it so slyly, too, but I'll be damned if I didn't catch on. I do have Snowy Escape, so I'm unaware if that had anything to do with it.**
"I wish they would update the vampire abilities to act like the wellness teleport ability..." Same! I didn't realize the Wellness Teleport didn't require a routing path. That's so dumb that Vamps can't do that as well. Also, can Witches do it? I'm going to assume theirs functions the way the Vampire one does, just because that's so annoyingly pointless and immersion breaking. XD
I saw a comment on a Movie Hangout secret about how when your sims watches a movie they can discuss it another sim when it ends. I want to add to that: "Yes! And depending on the movie's gendre you can click "declare x movie style as favorite". Once it's settled, the sim will gain a moodlet everytime it watches a movie of that gendre".
It's complicated is very easy to do. Just make another sim to romance with your sim and let another sim ask your sim to leave the spouse. They will automatically become 'its complicated' if the two have maxed out their friendship.
I love Patchy. Sure, he gardens and depending on his one trait, he may clean. But he is an easy social for your sim - he can give an easy focused buff when you ask for gardening tips. I am always sure to ask him for gardening tips before my sim leaves for University class. Also, a toddler can ask Patchy to join while playing with toys - very handy for a busy parent who has a clingy toddler.
I learned something new and I wanted to note that I love the sanguinary satisfaction buff with vampires so I always create a club of just the favorite plasma sims for that specific vampire so they can just eat them when i start a club gathering. Its a cool feature and it lends to gameplay like a lot of these secrets. Thanks for the video
During a thunderstorm a mineral collectible will spawn where the lightning hits the ground. Maybe this is a well known one but I've never seen it mentioned anywhere.
That explains it! My one household gets hit with lightning constantly! (I have replaced a lot of planter boxes there lol) And I get different elements usually just lying around the yard. Never understood why. Lol
What I love about this channel is that when you say "secrets" they are really secrets, not like features that we see in the trailers as a lot of channels do!
A trick I keep sharing on my Facebook Sims groups is what to do about trash plants that sprout just off your lot. They sit there being smelly and attracting flies, and you can't edit them in Build mode because they're not on your lot. Well, a level 5 gardener can take two cuttings in a row from them, which will kill them. Problem solved. This ability to slaughter plants out in the world can come in handy if you want the game to spawn something different than what's growing in that location. I was trying to find Growfruits once, and read that they sprouted all over Willow Springs' Park back in 2016 during the Growfruit challenge, but have since disappeared. Well, their spawners are still in the park, even though they've been superceded by apple trees, etc. I went around and murdered all the plants in my park to force respawning, and sure enough, eventually I got Growfruit trees!
Wow I never knew about some of these, particularly the rose scent, grim reaper's doll and secret mixology drinks. Great video, dude! If I'd like to add, you should probably cover about island elementals from Sims 4 Island Living in the future. They can be added to your household and have amazing abilities like summoning volcanic bombs. Their ability will also be brought down to their offspring. I think not many people know about this.
I saw this the other day, but when teens kiss, the one sim moves their hand further down and then the other sim moves it back up to their waist. It’s a super cute interaction and I never noticed that the teen kissing interaction was different to the adult kissing interaction.
Yeah, using the button can give you iffy results. Sims are pretty stupid about their options. They'll nap in a filthy, used pee bush because it's closer than going inside to their comfy hygienic bed.
Sadly the powers you get from Discover University's Secret Society aren't permanent. When you graduate and are no longer enlisted in Uni you lose your powers.
I really wish the powers were permanent, but maybe that you could get them revoked if you wanted to. I want my sims to see sprites after graduation too. 😔
@@DIAMOND-rl6vz you look through the telescope a lot or go to space a lot in the rocketship i think? eventually a spaceship will just come and grab your sim
Hey! Some months ago I was playing as a scientific and found out that if your sim goes to Sixam because of a work requirement, they will find an alien party being thrown. I thought you may have not know this because of your comment in Sixam being small, so there you go
@@julia.g.7878 If you hover your cursor over the space to the right of your original comment, you can get three vertical dots. Click them for a popup menu that will allow you to edit your original post. I fix my silly typos on YT like this all the time. :)
To be frank, Sixam parties are a bit lame. They’re like any bar night but with aliens and without toilets. I mean, it’s a nice feature, just not completely thought-through. Also, I wish so much that the Sixam lot was inhabitable.
I'm not sure it constitutes as a "secret" and more an exploit, but having your sim watching tv then making them play games on their phone will skyrocket their Fun need. Queue up 4-5 phone game interactions and voila, max fun sim.
On learning cooking recipes, I have 2 additions: Some moods have special things that can only be made while in that mood (I know Energized and Playful do), and you can learn recipes from Jungle Adventure similar to how you learn them in Dine Out/City Living. Also (Since you included the base game hidden lots and OR's lot), the special locations in Jungle Adventure are in fact hidden lots. This applies to temples as well as loaded instances like the river bend or lost garden full of emotion berries.
this comment has really gotten me hyped to visit selvadorada again, the only special lot ive ever come across was the one with a plane wreck. what ones have you guys found, i want to know XD
It's amazing what you find when you go back into Live mode from Build mode, eh? The spider freaked me out the first time one moved in my game. :D The mouse hole you can place on a wall (deco from Cats and Dogs) will spawn a mouse that comes out of it. If you leave it alone, soon there'll be two mice, then three... I dunno how many it tops out at because I wandered away from the save I put that in. hahaha
I *just* discovered the sweater curse. I finally gave my Sims a boyfriend who may or may not look a whole lot like a favorite ex. I gave dude the sweater. On came the curse. I wasn't having it so I cheated the moodlet into next never. Walked away from the game (forgot it was running), and, when I returned dude was dead by fire. Even in-game that relationship was doomed. lol
Considering I logged 20.000 hours in this game already, I did not expect to learn something new. But Carl gets it. On one of the very first points too. :-D
Noel Piriz Ya.. everyone hates the game because they won’t add certain things but I don’t really understand why we need all of that immediately. You get what you get and you don’t throw a fit
@@tadstrange7190 Immediately? Sims 4 has been out for 6 years and they're planning to release more packs for at least one more year if not two or three. In the span of just 4 years, Sims 2 and Sims 3 gave us a lot more gameplay, life states, and even pets. I'm glad you're enjoying it as much as you are, but what kind of timeframe were you expecting? There are plenty of legitimate complaints leveled at Sims 4 and one of them is how the gameplay feels shallow and they're spreading content as thin as they can across packs. Some of it is a matter of inflation, set pricing, shaky initial development, a lack of confidence in the game, not enough time or manpower for devs to polish their work, and EA's tendency to run popular franchises into the ground. I don't hate the Sims 4; I'm generally frustrated because I want it to be the best it can be and right now it isn't. I've been playing since Sims 1, so I'm a longtime fan. I don't throw fits; I criticize out of love and I settle when I have to, mostly by turning to modders (which console players can't do.) Some people complain because they're entitled, but a lot of people complain because there are legitimate issues that need addressing. We wouldn't have toddlers if no one said anything. :P :)
J. Stanley I understand what you’re saying by personally with me I’m happy they release packs slowly. I’m only 16 and I’m not allowed to get a job so currently I have negative 40 dollars to my name because I bought Christmas presents. Any time a new sims pack comes out I save up for that game but it’s really hard for me. The point is I’m glad they bring them out slowly because I feel like if they popped them out fast then they’d run out of things to put out and turn to making sims 5. I know lots of summers are excited for sims 5 but I don’t understand why we kept just expand sims 4 forever and just make it the best it can be. I might never turn to sims4 because I feel like it’s just a marketing ploy to make money. I’ve already spent hundreds of dollars on the sims 4 why would I wanna switch to another game and start all over. I believe that if the sims goes slowly as annoying as it is they’ll be able to bring out better and better packs and make the best games there is possible but if they start going faster we’ll be missing important parts of packs and they’ll be stretched thin and then we’ll just all switch to sims 5 because we think it’ll be better.
@@tadstrange7190 That's already the problem though, EA needs to put the Sims 4 stuff out slower. They're actually releasing things WAY too fast RIGHT NOW and the big problem is they're focusing on Stuff Packs; not Expansions. Sims 4 has produced 9 expansions, 8 game packs, and 17 stuff packs in 6 years. Note the focus on objects over gameplay and that game packs were produced so they could spend less time on fewer features. Sims 3 has produced 11 expansions and 9 stuff packs (there are no game packs; the closest thing would be DLC from the Sims 3 store) in 4 years. However, please note that Sims 3 also gave us Egypt, China, and France as vacation worlds and later the ability for Sims to swim in every body of water. We also had at least 20 small pets plus horses and unicorns in the Pets expansion, and we had vampires, witches, fairies, and werewolves in the Supernatural expansion. Every expansion gave us more, plus the life states were generally more detailed. (Sims 4 Vampires are the exception to this rule although for some reason when they turn into a mist or fly in batform, they require routing paths; an ordinary Sim with maxed Wellness doesn't need a routing path. Logic!) In other words, your money would've bought you twice as much in Sims 3. Actually, buying Sims 3 packs now gets you four times as much because their cost has decreased in value from their initial release. (Also, Sims 3 is just as buggy! lol) Sims 2 had 8 expansion packs and 10 stuff packs in 4 years. Incidentally, there are way more objects in each stuff pack. Sims 2 released with toddlers in the base game. Sims 4 gave us toddlers two years after the base game was released. I don't know when you started playing or if you even care about toddlers but people complained for two years until EA put toddlers into the game. (Before this, babies instantly grew up into children.) They're really good toddlers but we wouldn't have them at all if people hadn't complained about this. Anyway, Sims 4 has gone on for two more years but put out nearly twice as many stuff packs as Sims 2 or Sims 3. If EA had focused that energy (and the energy spent on game packs) by spending more time on their expansion packs we'd not only have at least two more full-blown expansion packs but the quality of each expansion would've skyrocketed, with more items and more features. Remember, Sims 4 has My First Pet Stuff but didn't give us birds or reptiles in Cats & Dogs and the pet rodent is tied to the cage (whereas in Sims 3 Pets you could carry your pet chinchilla around in your inventory and interact with it from there, though you ran the risk of it escaping and thus disappearing.) You could also directly control (in other words, play as) your pet in Sims 3 and thus follow your cat, dog, or horse as they ran around the big, open world. (You can tell I'm most bitter about the Sims 4 Cats & Dogs. lol) EA is actually pumping out Sims 4 content at a breakneck pace and not spending quality time on most of it. This is what people are complaining about. Also, I understand your pain, I've been through "why would I switch?" three times already and always got into the next generation of Sims games pretty late because of it. Nothing wrong with that except this time around I'm eager for Paralives (there's a listing on Steam) and Sims 5 because I want them to fix some of the fundamental flaws Sims 4 has based on a rocky development (Sims 4 was originally supposed to be an MMORPG and then EA changed their minds partway through, using what was already developed to create a true simulation game. EA has no confidence in a full simulation and they want small purchases that add up over time, as is the case in both Sims mobile apps because that's where the profit is.) Incidentally, EA has been working on Sims 5 already, for several months if not a year. Games need to be developed for several years before the company can release them and we know they've already committed prior Sims devs to some undisclosed project that is presumably Sims 5.
(Re: Movie Hangout pack) This only happened once, but I had a Sim watch a movie and after a while, when interacting with another Sim, I saw social options to "Talk about movie", "Ask question about plot", "Talk about actors", and so on. Had no idea that was possible!
Yes! And depending on the movie's gendre you can click "declare x movie style as favorite". Once it's settled, the sim will gain a moodlet everytime it watches a movie of that gendre
also if they are watching the movie with another sims and they are talking while the movie, your sim make a shhh animation to make them shut up ( sorry for bad english xd )
Similar thing happens with Dine Out, whenever a Sim finishes a meal, they can do all sorts of special conversation interactions, like Talk about meal or Complain about dish for example
Once again Carl can be counted upon to be the font of Sims wisdom. I learned something I didn't know and I've been playing this game since it came out.
As you hit the needs command, you managed to show one of my biggest peeves with the Eco pack: The cargo container doors open INWARD. That is not physically possible for the doors of those containers, and shouldn't be in the game either. The sweater 'curse' and the tulip thing seem like perfect tricks for a jealous sim.
Not really a secret, but on my most recent game, I found a UFO plant a dragonfruit from one of the City Living Festivals. I had seasons set to two weeks long and I started in the fall. Not sure if I just got a lucky draw, but you can find some expensive plants from both the Romance and Spice Festivals. I also recommend taking the harvests from high quality plants to make more plants of the same quality instead of having to start all over from the normal quality plants.
You can reliably find a Cowplant berry on an unnamed plant in one of the box planters at, I believe, the Spice Festival. I know for sure it's at one of the two festivals you listed, because I always send sims to them to harvest whatever's there. Also if you graft a lower quality cutting onto a higher quality base, you will bounce the low quality harvestable to the quality level of the base plant you grafted onto. You can then plant the higher quality produce to skip levels of Evolving. This is handy for less work in a garden, if you concentrate on fertilizing one plant, you can use it as a base to boost many others past all those stages and save a lot of time.
Not quite a secret, but the earbuds from Fitness Stuff are extremely useful. Turn them on and they'll passively increase your Fun as you work on something else, with only a slight animation from time to time as they enjoy the music, so no much delay. I would often have my freelance programmer with earbuds on so he didn't have to take a break to play games or something. Finish that damn commission, I need money.
@@CarlsSimGuides It is so hard to find stuff I haven't already stumbled upon or seen in my FB groups or TH-cam lets plays. Trust you to ferret them out. :)
I learned the fruitcake tip from you in an older video and I ALWAYS try fruitcake now!!! A great meal that takes almost no time, gives a good buff, and stays fresh in the inventory forever.
@@PeppermintPat you can save the game before they try it, if they don't like it go back to main menu without saving and make the sim try it gain ( repeat till they like it if needed)
I learned about this from one of your earlier videos too! Before I knew about it, I always had my Sims throw the fruit cake away. NOW I alwayyssss have my sims try fruit cake!
For anyone playing a vampire with the "Good Vampire" aspiration, have them make BFFs with a Spellcaster! the Potion of Plentiful Needs from Realm of Magic works for vamps, too. (Unless any recent patches Nerfed this - it's been a while since I played that save.)
The best way to convince the grim reaper to spare a sims life without any items is to be in a confident mood and "command" the grim reaper to release the sim. It has a 40% chance in confident and 50% chance in very confident. Normal plead is 33% Seducing the grim reaper in flirty and very flirty is 10% and 20% respectively. Sad sims can wail about the sim's death with gives 30% at sad and 40% very sad. Gloomy traited sims get 33% sad and 36% very sad Child sims have a better chance at convincing the grim reaper than regular sims Angry sims can yell at the grim reaper but this will always fail Also sims with level 5 mischief can use a voodoo doll to "toy with death" when the grim reaper is trying to reap someones soul. This has a chance to cause him to not be able to reap them, with chances increasing depending how many times you use it before it happens.
The sweater curse is a real urban legend with knitters. It's said that if you're romantic with someone (but not married) and you gift them a sweater, you're going to break up
I have never heard this. Prolific knitting Friend gave their ( brilliantly knitted ) stuff to everyone, including the fiance -> spouse, kids, inlaws, outlaws, everyone all the time. They never heard of this, and never had any problems with the spouse etc. ??? Maybe its because we are in Australia ? It is just a usa thing ?
@@wombat.6652 There was tumblr post going around about this. The short version is, making a knit sweater for someone else takes a lot of time, effort, and money; and most of the time the other person doesn´t really appreciate the gift, and barely uses it. Therefore, the knitter realizes that is is putting too much effort on someone that isn´t giving it back.
@@wombat.6652 Because you aren’t reading what is said. It’s about romantic relationships obviously, not platonic or familial... and of course they were fine giving it to spouse, spouse means married, which is irrelevant to what OP said.
... when you feel called out when he mentions "make a Sim your slave to feed of" and "don't store them in your basement" cuz that's exactly what I did...
When you are playing as scientist you can create device and clone people. I did it once but twin had character trait evil so it was difficult to play with :D he became a doctor and was happy when saw sick people so actually it was good job for him
Thanks so much! I have some of my own to add: (i think requires the moveobject cheat enabled) 1. When in build mode, press F5 to toggle between 1/2 grid snap to 1/4 grid snap when placing down objects. When in your internet browser, press F5 to reload the page just like I did when I pressed the F5 button instead of typing it. 2. When in build mode, hold down the ALT key while moving an object to place something without the object snapping to the grid lines. While in the Sims 3 Camera, you can also hold down ALT and the right mouse button to rotate an object without it snapping to the grid lines. You will have to left-click the mouse button while the ALT key is pressed in both cases in order to make the object stay. If you try to pick up the object again, it will snap to the nearest grid line again. 3. Being an active parent will boost the rate that a toddler, child, or teen will learn a skill. Even watching a toddler or child play with toys can help speed up the learning of imagination and creativity.
Also if a vampire drinks from a sim with the "infected" trait (strangerville) they will become infected themselves and immediately get the "possessed" mood. That is super neat.
Things like these are part of why I have mixed feelings about TS4. I do genuinely enjoy the game, despite its many shortcomings, and finding out little quirks like these gives me faith that there's more in the game to discover.
First time I saw the thing where the romance bar was up and the friendship bar down was actually something that I didn't make happen. During the early The Sims 4 days, sims would change their relationships with other sims when you were playing as a different household.
In 'story mode' the answer for the question that can make your sim an alien had the phrase "Klaatu barada nikto", it comes from the movie 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' from 2008. I haven't seen the movie, but I was contemplating checking it out judging by the summary and that's how I found it.
Once your sim reaches Singing lvl 2 you can sing in the shower and it gets your fun up a bit! Also, if you hate that it takes 1 sim hour to take a shower, doing the two upgrades to make your sim shower fast REALLY HELPS!!!!! Takes it down to about 20 sim minutes!
I feel like I didnt know most of this stuff, so really nicely done and very informative, even for someone who has played this for years (more on the builders side, so maybe that explains it :P ) anyway, great vid as usual!!!
I thought this was gonna be another "did you know that sims can DIE from emotions? Or that- get this, if you leave an urn around, ghosts can show up!" Kind of video. But I actually didn't know a lot of these things! Cool stuff
The Sweater Curse is real outside of the game as well! We yarn crafters are superstitious in our own ways ;) It works basically the same way in real life - if you gift your significant other a knitted or crocheted item too early in the relationship, you stand the risk of jinxing the budding romance and dooming your relationship. It exists because knitting and crocheting a sweater takes a long time and a lot of materials, and is a big investment that results in a gift that is often not as deeply appreciated as the gifter would like.
Tip for control freaks like me: Makes your Sims Vampires, get coffins and make them hibernate. They’ll needs won’t decay and they can’t get up on their own. Just leave one sim awake. Now you have a family that won’t do anything while you are playing that one sim you like just a bit more.
I don't know how universally known it might be, but I recently discovered that setting a lot type as "off the grid" can give buffs for certain things like cleaning or cooking on a grill.
Something about movies I'd like to add. If sim liked the movie they've watched, they can declare the genre as their favorite when talking to other sims. This makes sims enjoy that movie genre more. Kind of like declaring weather preferences in Seasons, but isn't always available.
13:26 I see the incense 👀 I use them too all the time, it’s perfect for when I have painting sims and they need to finish their aspirations (painting different mood pantings).
Base game secret: If you reach stylist or trendsetter level in Style Influencer career, you can make over a sim without cheating and if you use the cas edit cheat, you can also change their body shapes and skintones.
important note about the snaggle fluster: in my experience, you need to have level 10 mixology skill to unlock the recipe. the event card will come up regardless, but if you don't have high enough skill, the book will always be fake. luckily charisma is also needed for that career, so just don't raise it to the required level and you won't get promoted
If your child sim plays with the parenthood doctor/bear (the one that raises empathy) and then takes a job as a Doctor they'll get a happy moodlet... I can't remember exactly what it is now, something about chilldhood dreams I think Toddlers can sleep with the Lullabies radio station playing, and can be read to while eating (pick up a plate off the floor style, not high chair). I think the fact that toddlers can "imitate" pets might be a secret too, since it seems permanently hidden in the friendly menu.
Snagglefluster + steel bladder trait. Only kids can make health potions that fulfill all buffs. Scientist can clone a sim. Using 'paint from reference' you can take paintings of your sims.
I love auto-solve but it can seriously hurt your Sim if there's a Cowplant around. If they're hungry and you click auto-solve, they will sometimes eat the cowplant cake. It took me a while to figure out why my Sims were getting eaten.
So I’ve followed your site and Yt page for a while and found a little of small hidden gems like these before. But I have to say, I didn’t know about 80% of these ! Can’t wait to try them out
Really useful! Casually, a few days ago my sim was struck by lightning twice and she got the trait I didn't see the lightning action tho, but she had glowing eyes
you can add the night stalker to your family edit him in CAS (if you use fulleditmode cheat ) and change his traits .... then remove him from your family , its pretty fun.
This was a fun video. Despite reading your site and others, I did learn some new things. Somehow I completely missed you could click on the need to have the Sim auto-fulfill it, the scented with tulips was new, I didn't know about the wraith, and the relationship statuses ("it's complicated" "enemies with benefits") absolutely cracked me up. After many hours of gameplay, I not only finally had a sim hit with lightning (apparently having a tiny house so you have to put your fish tank outside is a good way to have that happen, as the draw to clean the tank overrides the fear of storms), but got my first hypercharged Sim. I saw the second strike hit her and was afraid I'd accidentally killed my very skilled Sim due to an addictive fish tank! My next vampire is totally going to taste test Sims until they find the tasty snack.
Another great tip for spellcaster‘s is you can learn how to duplicate items, so when you discover a potion just keep that first bottle please sit in the world and you can continue to duplicate it and you’ll never have to make it again. And some of those potions are pretty crazy.
12:50 “Just don’t store them in your basement because that would be weird.” One of my vampires, who kidnapped her Divine Drink and kept him in her basement until he died: Um.
5:43 Ohhh this explains why I haven’t had any sims getting abducted in a while even though I used to have some that would constantly get abducted lol. I used to have a lot of sims in the science career but now I currently don’t have any. I somehow didn’t even realize the sims in science careers were more likely to be abducted but that makes total sense haha oops
I don't know if it's a secret, but, in build/buy, if you press F5 it will allow you to snap to the quarter tile. Normally we can only snap to the whole or half tile. Thank you so much for all of this. I really apprecite it!!

Short on upgrade parts and don't have money? When you fix something and have a pile to scavenge for parts, scavenge for parts, then go to throw it away. Elven Roze The cheat is “bb.showliveeditobjects”. Do that and then search for “debug”. It’ll blow your mind.
Wicked 😈
this is so funny but cool omg 😭😭
I do have Snowy Escape, so I'm unaware if that had anything to do with it.**
wow this is so cool! thank you :-)
You're awesome for that!
thanks!
XD
Was there a glitch for cardboard boxes? I swear none ever spawned after when I first installed CL
I saw a comment on a Movie Hangout secret about how when your sims watches a movie they can discuss it another sim when it ends. I want to add to that:
"Yes! And depending on the movie's gendre you can click "declare x movie style as favorite". Once it's settled, the sim will gain a moodlet everytime it watches a movie of that gendre".
Ok now I need to work on getting Sims with 'enemies with benefits' and 'it's complicated', seems like it would make for an interesting house.
I've seen 100 baby challenge players use Patchy a lot too because sometimes he'll feed the crying babies
I never had a patchy who cleans or gardens! They always just end up going to the computer
Karolina Jarosz you can set the computer only for your household. I also do that cause thats almost the only thing visitors wanna do
my sim made adorable babies with Patchy
Trash plants have fruit that can give you a good or bad moodlet when you eat them.
they can also help you grow food and plants
Wow I never knew about some of these, particularly the rose scent, grim reaper's doll and secret mixology drinks. Great video, dude!
If I'd like to add, you should probably cover about island elementals from Sims 4 Island Living in the future. They can be added to your household and have amazing abilities like summoning volcanic bombs. Their ability will also be brought down to their offspring. I think not many people know about this.
He previously covered the special elemental trait to their offspring and its features in a different vid. It was awhile ago though I think.
Heyyy I love your videos!
Hi, have a good day!
Bro i love ur channel 😁
Onlyabidoang!
I saw this the other day, but when teens kiss, the one sim moves their hand further down and then the other sim moves it back up to their waist. It’s a super cute interaction and I never noticed that the teen kissing interaction was different to the adult kissing interaction.
Note that you can swap collectables at the fleemarket if you have city living.
Didn't know untill a few months ago.
I've completed my snow globe collection that way. :)
I used the buttons on the needs panel to help my exhausted sim go to bed, but instead he want to take a nap on a park bench across the street lol
🤣 mine always want to back float? Sims aren't the brightest sometimes
Elven Roze they really aren’t 😅
lol. I found that my sim will only sleep when I press the needs panel button after 9PM otherwise it's always a nap or coffee.
Crystal Jones I’ll have to test that out! 😄
Thanks for weighing in, that's pretty important info. I remember them doing a lot with grades so that makes sense.
I really wish the powers were permanent, but maybe that you could get them revoked if you wanted to. I want my sims to see sprites after graduation too. 😔
The tulip one I had NO IDEA! That's awesome!
Great video as always!
Thank you. The tulip thing came to me from a comment on the site which we then looked deeper into and found it to be really neat.
You can also give flowers a crocus scent and put it next to the bee box. It will calm the bees.
@@carolarouw4917 Oh dang that's cool! Time to actually make my simself's garden worth something (Besides the whole I Really Love Plants THING)
Fun fact: my male robot was abducted by aliens and got “pregnant” and gave birth to an alien baby. So that’s a thing that can happen.
how do you get abducted?
@@DIAMOND-rl6vz you look through the telescope a lot or go to space a lot in the rocketship i think? eventually a spaceship will just come and grab your sim
Hey! Some months ago I was playing as a scientific and found out that if your sim goes to Sixam because of a work requirement, they will find an alien party being thrown. I thought you may have not know this because of your comment in Sixam being small, so there you go
Scientist* jesus my english is just not good today
Oooo a party!???? That sounds awesome!
My favourite small detail is that cats can ride on the robot vacuums, it’s super cute!
Another good one is that cowplants dance when there’s a radio playing close to them.
I always get flirty cookies
this comment has really gotten me hyped to visit selvadorada again, the only special lot ive ever come across was the one with a plane wreck. what ones have you guys found, i want to know XD
What, there’s a garden full of emotion fruit trees? I thought I had found all the jungles lots, but I must’ve missed one.
The cobweb decorations in the vampire pack have little spiders that live on them and move around. I discovered this yesterday fjsldkjfls
It's amazing what you find when you go back into Live mode from Build mode, eh? The spider freaked me out the first time one moved in my game. :D
The mouse hole you can place on a wall (deco from Cats and Dogs) will spawn a mouse that comes out of it. If you leave it alone, soon there'll be two mice, then three... I dunno how many it tops out at because I wandered away from the save I put that in. hahaha
Cool!
OMG I saw that with my sims too!!!!
Even in-game that relationship was doomed. lol
If that is not a sign for you to move on I dont know what is
Considering I logged 20.000 hours in this game already, I did not expect to learn something new.
But Carl gets it.
On one of the very first points too. :-D
I thought I was obsessed with Sims4 and yet I still am learning more and more I love this game!
How rare! Someone who plays The sims 4 and loves it! Instead of playing it and complaining about every little thing /facepalm
Logic!)
In other words, your money would've bought you twice as much in Sims 3. Actually, buying Sims 3 packs now gets you four times as much because their cost has decreased in value from their initial release. (Also, Sims 3 is just as buggy! lol)
Sims 2 had 8 expansion packs and 10 stuff packs in 4 years.
(You can tell I'm most bitter about the Sims 4 Cats & Dogs. lol)
EA is actually pumping out Sims 4 content at a breakneck pace and not spending quality time on most of it.
EA has no confidence in a full simulation and they want small purchases that add up over time, as is the case in both Sims mobile apps because that's where the profit is.)
Incidentally, EA has been working on Sims 5 already, for several months if not a year. Games need to be developed for several years before the company can release them and we know they've already committed prior Sims devs to some undisclosed project that is presumably Sims 5.
"Just don't store them in your basement"
I feel called out
(Re: Movie Hangout pack) This only happened once, but I had a Sim watch a movie and after a while, when interacting with another Sim, I saw social options to "Talk about movie", "Ask question about plot", "Talk about actors", and so on. Had no idea that was possible!
Yes! And depending on the movie's gendre you can click "declare x movie style as favorite". Once it's settled, the sim will gain a moodlet everytime it watches a movie of that gendre
also if they are watching the movie with another sims and they are talking while the movie, your sim make a shhh animation to make them shut up
( sorry for bad english xd )
Unfortunately those interactions are glitching, so they aren’t popping up for a lot of simmers :( I miss it!
I think you can also learn the dishes from Salvadorada!
Yeah, I think you're right.
Can confirm
What UFO fruit does tho?
Not quite a secret, but the earbuds from Fitness Stuff are extremely useful. Turn them on and they'll passively increase your Fun as you work on something else, with only a slight animation from time to time as they enjoy the music, so no much delay. I would often have my freelance programmer with earbuds on so he didn't have to take a break to play games or something. Finish that damn commission, I need money.
Didn't know the Beetle Juice one lol

My assistant friend who has been a huge fruitcake advocate is going to love this comment.

The best way to convince the grim reaper to spare a sims life without any items is to be in a confident mood and "command" the grim reaper to release the sim. It has a 40% chance in confident and 50% chance in very confident.
Normal plead is 33%
Seducing the grim reaper in flirty and very flirty is 10% and 20% respectively.
Sad sims can wail about the sim's death with gives 30% at sad and 40% very sad. Gloomy traited sims get 33% sad and 36% very sad
Child sims have a better chance at convincing the grim reaper than regular sims
Angry sims can yell at the grim reaper but this will always fail
Also sims with level 5 mischief can use a voodoo doll to "toy with death" when the grim reaper is trying to reap someones soul.

Thanks so much! I have some of my own to add: (i think requires the moveobject cheat enabled)

*hissing of disagreement* o v v o
One time my sim got hypercharged (this was before I knew that a sim could get hypercharged) and lets just say I was very concerned
I have been playing Sims for 15 years, and I had no idea you could give the grim reaper a death flower to save someone!
Sixam is also accessible via upgraded Rocketship.
I was going to say this too haha ☺️
In 'story mode' the answer for the question that can make your sim an alien had the phrase "Klaatu barada nikto", it comes from the movie 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' from 2008. I haven't seen the movie, but I was contemplating checking it out judging by the summary and that's how I found it.
Tip- make your sim max out the cooking aspiration so food never spoils.
How
If you use bluebells ( flower arranging level 6-7 I believe) must be a excellent plant you can make the plant NEVER spoil!!
Something cool: you can find cowplants seeds in the spice festival
Once your sim reaches Singing lvl 2 you can sing in the shower and it gets your fun up a bit!
Also, if you hate that it takes 1 sim hour to take a shower, doing the two upgrades to make your sim shower fast REALLY HELPS!!!!! Takes it down to about 20 sim minutes!
Also additional fun fact on the fruit cake: toddlers always like fruit cake, it just gives them the sugar rush and later the sugar crash moodlets.
I feel like I didnt know most of this stuff, so really nicely done and very informative, even for someone who has played this for years (more on the builders side, so maybe that explains it :P ) anyway, great vid as usual!!!
I think the movies are actually content from "movie hangout stuff"
I like the gnomes photobombing pictures! That made me laugh the first time I found it.
I love that you have a TH-cam channel. I used to use your TS3 as a bible when I was younger!
Recently I noticed that when my alien sim is watching alien TV she gets sad because she misses home! :D
Thank you for this! There were a few secrets I didn’t know about until now!
I knew most of my viewers are veterans but that's exactly what I was going for, so thanks for letting me know!
Re: the sweater curse - this is a real thing in the knitting community. The fact that they included it is awesome
thank you for this video!! I was getting bored with the sims but now I have more things to explore
Now that's a cool comment, thanks for taking the time and telling me.
to make experimental dishes, you don’t need to own a restaurant. you only need the cooking station that comes with dine out.
Tip for control freaks like me:
Makes your Sims Vampires, get coffins and make them hibernate. They’ll needs won’t decay and they can’t get up on their own.
Just leave one sim awake. Now you have a family that won’t do anything while you are playing that one sim you like just a bit more.
Or just turn off autonomy. They'll only do something on their own if they're going die.
I don't know how universally known it might be, but I recently discovered that setting a lot type as "off the grid" can give buffs for certain things like cleaning or cooking on a grill.
I did the beetlejuice death in my game, then I changed their looks so they kinda looked like beetlejuice. It was the best 😂
Base game secret: If you reach stylist or trendsetter level in Style Influencer career, you can make over a sim without cheating and if you use the cas edit cheat, you can also change their body shapes and skintones.
for the secret food recipes you forgot the jungle adventure ones, and the secret menu ones from getting lvl 5 culture. :)
important note about the snaggle fluster: in my experience, you need to have level 10 mixology skill to unlock the recipe. the event card will come up regardless, but if you don't have high enough skill, the book will always be fake. luckily charisma is also needed for that career, so just don't raise it to the required level and you won't get promoted
If your child sim plays with the parenthood doctor/bear (the one that raises empathy) and then takes a job as a Doctor they'll get a happy moodlet... I can't remember exactly what it is now, something about chilldhood dreams I think
Toddlers can sleep with the Lullabies radio station playing, and can be read to while eating (pick up a plate off the floor style, not high chair).
I love watching his videos, so informative. Also, I love his voice its so calming.
Casually, a few days ago my sim was struck by lightning twice and she got the trait
I didn't see the lightning action tho, but she had glowing eyes
you can add the night stalker to your family edit him in CAS (if you use fulleditmode cheat ) and change his traits .... then remove him from your family , its pretty fun.
Granted I love all Simmers buuuuut I trust Carl the most. Thanks sir.
The Grim Reaper Plushie tip is so exciting. As if I didn't have a reason to love them more :')
My Sims get hyper charged like every storm?? I didn't realise it was rare 😂
The sweater curse is actually thought to be a real thing in the knitting and crocheting community
Really? Lol how does it go?
Oh I was so confused when my male sims suddenly get pregnant and gave birth turns out he got abducted without me knowing it😂
Another great tip for spellcaster‘s is you can learn how to duplicate items, so when you discover a potion just keep that first bottle please sit in the world and you can continue to duplicate it and you’ll never have to make it again. And some of those potions are pretty crazy.

“Just don’t store them in your basement because that would be weird.”
One of my vampires, who kidnapped her Divine Drink and kept him in her basement until he died: Um.
even aged mine down once or twice. death is a relief dearly paid for
That beetlejuice thing is great, I gotta do that when the expansion.
The environment auras from plumbob lights and certain paintings work in a sizeable field (most being 6x6 or 9x9) not by room as many say
If you have city living, always attend the romance festival because you can harvest dragonfruit there sometimes FOR FREE! :)
Meanwhile, The Sims 2 has 150 secrets.
Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyeah about that. :(
@@CarlsSimGuides What, even less secrets?😢
@@Pollicina_db Sims 4 ALWAYS has less than Sims 2 & 3. :(
What sims 4 add on for the ps4 will allow sims to do any drugs? No mods work for ps4. So what can I do??
Allison .....as far as I know there is no expansion pack for ps4 that will allow sims to do drugs.
I don't know if it's a secret, but, in build/buy, if you press F5 it will allow you to snap to the quarter tile. Normally we can only snap to the whole or half tile. Thank you so much for all of this. I really apprecite it!!
This is definitely a useful tip. I think it qualifies, not everything I put in this video is really a "secret" just features you may not notice.
