I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see a Hunchback of Notre Dame Medley like this. Geoff as Claude Frollo, Cesar as Quasimodo…it would be a project worthy of your talents (imo).
Imagine what they could do with The Bells of Notre Dame?!
Perfect
LET'S. GO. MY. MAN.
DANG that's a great idea !! I second that
Forget the Bells of Notre Dame, this would mean Geoff singing lead on Hell Fire!
Fun Fact: This is Rachel‘s 10th collaboration with VoicePlay!
And her third medley with VoicePlay, with Moana and Little Mermaid, with this as the first non-Disney medley she’s been in.
Honestly at this point can she just join them permanently? Every collaboration they've done together has been breathtaking
Fun Fact #2 Rachel played Glinda on a national tour of Wicked
She was technically Glinda’s understudy and an ensemble member
Rachel Potter pants is the best there is 🤩♥️ I hope she makes it back to Broadway 🎭
Never knew I needed Geoff to sing the words “corn-fed hick” in a beautiful tenor tone, but here we are 😂
Nobody knew but now we know. 😆🐶
Three things I learnt from this video:
Eli is a treasure
Layne is obnoxiously tall
VoicePlay is still my favourite band
And Cesar appears to have an evil side :)
Geoff is 5' 11" so I guess that Layne is about 6' 1"
@@wwsciffsww3748 Geoff looks like 6'2 lmao, but i think he said he is 5'11 and a half, so Layne has to be like 6, they both look almost the same height
And Rachel had the VOICE OF A FREAKING ANGEL
@@lorenstephens757 Not to mention the face of one too.
Gotta give my love to Eli...
Earl: "I need to move on guys"
Geoff and Layne":who's going to sing like a laser now?"
Eli: "on it"
J: "I'm joining the Navy"
G&L: "Who's gonna do all those cool riffs?"
Eli: "yo!"
G&L: "we need a backup for our bass when he solos."
Eli: "is that it? Sure."
G & L: "we need someone to sing like a rock star seagull dead pirate in an opera underwater with a Hungarian accent"
Eli: "that might take me two tries"
Pretty much. Eli is the 🐐
He really has taken a huge step forward into the spotlight lately, huge props to him
@@SeptimusTSS Fitting that he moves into the spotlight - given that he is the one setting the spotlights up 🙂
Is the last one an actual reference?
@@RavenSutcliffe He kind of did all this, just not at the same time !
Rachel Potter is a Disney princess. Period.
Cesar (utterly terrifying): "Kill the witch!!!"
Geoff (noted bass singer and sometime sea witch): Uh oh. 😐
🤣😉
I didn't think about it that way lol
I did notice the way Geoff looked at him. It was almost as if he was thinking, "shit, he really means it".
"Have you been talking to Layne?"
But Geoff ( noted bass singer and sometime sea witch) he is immortal, except in: The little mermaid medley Rachel Peters get her soul back from Ursula ( Geoff)
Rachel Potter's rendition of Defying Gravity kills me every time, I'm obsessed with this medley
you should listen to the german version - willemijn verkaik sings it best i think (but rachel is close ;) )
O. M. G. Rachel Potter's riffs in defying gravity were INSANE. I love this woman's voice so much

If Rachel played Elphaba on broadway i would 💯 need front row tickets. This is by far one of the best renditions ive ever heard, and ive heard a lot. Keep shining 🌟 guys. Keep helping the world smile.

Geoff sir.. this arrangement is absolutely outstanding.. I could say wicked but 🤣 all your voices and every single part of this song goes so well together. It’s all so smooth and just.. perfection. ITS WICKED
This is just a masterpiece through and through. Musical theatre is where you guys always shine head and shoulders above any other group, and this is no exception. Every one of you was incredible in this, and the set/lighting/arrangement were all exceptional. Well done, folks.
Also at 3:02, EVERY TIME, my brain goes "boom, crash, bam boom! KIDDING!!!" It's been a little over SEVEN YEARS since the Broadway Top 10 came out with its tiny snippet of Popular. Guys, TONY was in that one, that's how long it's been. Such a kick of nostalgia, but the thing that really struck me was how much better the bassline was in the 2021 version. People don't realize how much Geoff has improved since VP started. He's gotten lower and he's learned subharmonics, sure, but he's also gotten the confidence to show all that off. I'd like to think that 2021 Geoff wrote the bassline that 2014 Geoff wanted to sing back then. Again, just wow.
ACA Top 10 Broadway is a part of my daily playlist, so yeah, I’m still singing that line too! 😆
YES to all of this. The moment that reminded me of this was at 2:50 when Layne did the exact same thing he did in Broadway Top 10
ME TOO It always throws me off lmao but it's so cool to hear how far they've all come
Tony is in the credits for this one as well.
Omg! Same! Lol. Every single time! I forget the actual words! Haha!
Cesar looks at Geoff with such genuine love and admiration and appreciation at 5:29 that each time I watch it, a sob catches in my throat and tears come to my eyes. There's no acting there. Now, contrast that with the interaction between Cesar and Geoff at 3:43...
Cesar: KILL THE WITCH!
Geoff: You okay, pal?
Cesar: Yeah, I'm fine...
That's one of the many incredible things about a VoicePlay video - the dedication to characterization and the telling of the story. They aren't just standing there singing, but rather, there's thought put into little looks, gestures, facial expressions. This storytelling is helped along by the amazing light show that Eli gave us - whether you realize you recognize them or not, those lighting cues between each song, and sometimes even within a song, draw you into the story even deeper.
Now for the music stuffs. One interesting thing that really struck me was when two singers came together in unison (Rachel and Emoni at 4:58 and 5:22; Cesar and Geoff at 5:29) which, to me, was very powerful in those moments in the story as it gave a sense of them being equals.
Some cool flexes:
-Geoff jumping TWO octaves at 0:55 from Ab1 to Ab3
-Cesar riffing up and Eli riffing down at 1:12
-The handoff of the solo from Rachel to Eli at 1:42
-Layne popping a bubble at 2:41 and then the cute head choreo move with the lyrics at 2:46, all while laying down his epic 7+ minute beatboxing extravaganza
-Geoff's solo in "Wonderful" (3:16) - "here, let me do a quick range flex by beautifully singing a phrase in a range higher than people expect from me and then singing the next phrase an octave lower..." all while Eli nonchalantly holds down the bass line.
-Applause and slack-jawed awe for that C#1 at the end, Geoff. 😯
The intertwining of lyrics and melody lines was absolutely brilliant - they swirled around in my head like a kaleidoscope. The tempo changes/ritards, that goosebump-inducing dip into Lydian at 5:49 (is that in the original...?), that complex orchestral-feeling penultimate chord at the end...it was all just masterful. Although the right chord progression frequently brings tears to my eyes, not many songs make me teary due to the sentimentality and emotion of the performance and the grandeur of the arrangement, but this is one of them.
(Sorry for always posting such wordy comments. I just always want to shine a light on all the things I appreciate...and there are always a lot of them...)
I am not musically trained and I learned so much from people like you. Never apologize for a long discourse when it’s full of information.
One of my favorite parts was in Wonderful. I love the little shoulder bobs and Cesar’s face is just so joyful. He has such an expressive voice and expressive face. What a great addition he makes to the team!
Oh. And at 5:47. Chills. So beautiful!
@@janetdw Thank you so much for saying that.
Be as wordy as you like. I love your comments.
Lovely comment! Also, I just noticed another Cesar and Geoff moment at about 4:16, another of those little looks, and it is KILLING ME
I have listened to this over and over again! I truely cannot get enough of these guys! Incredible!
Geoff’s face at 3:50 when Cesar yells “KILL THE WITCH!” had me laughing out loud during Thanksgiving dinner 😂
Do you mean 3:43 ?
@@kyandenton thanks I was confused when their timestamp didn't lead to anything about kill the witch
Not to mention that he gets so shocked that he forgets his hand movements for a second or two 😲😂
ding dong, the witch is dead!
"HELP"
5:55...
Wow.
The six hold their chord, letting it build into a tense, discordant harmony and drop into an instant of pure silence..
And the lights flash green, and Geoff Castellucci hits that iconic bassline. VoicePlay builds a stunning crescendo, and Rachel Potter soars into the melody.
Incredible. Stunning.
I love how no one is afraid to be expressive with their hands as well as their faces. As singers, we tend to use our hands to visualize what we physically do when we sing. Every action they do has a purpose and I think it's amazing that they don't try to hide that
Emoni + Cesar = PERFECT duet! Their voices compliment each other so well and blend and meld perfectly! 😍
Layne was absolutely on FIRE on this song...my God it was perfection! Bubbles, beats and...bloody amazing bits! 🤪 (obviously I'm not musically talented! Lol)
Eli's notes are always so pure and perfect, even when they feel like they should be a vocal crack AND those lighting/visual effects were pure joy to watch...AMAZING work!🤩
Geoff showing us his range and hitting those notes that make our skin tingle all the way from our toes (those bass rumbles make my toes curl) right to the top of our heads (HOW can he sing such a range of notes with such purity and clarity???)...beautiful! 🥰
And not forgetting Rachel who slots so wonderful into every little gap and sings so beautifully and powerfully, matching wonderfully with Emoni AND with the rest of the band, while still keeping her voice true...fabulous!💗
Honestly, this piece might be my absolute favourite...you are marvellous and...maybe I should listen again from the top...💕💕💕
Every single member of Voiceplay could be a superstar soloist. There is sooooooo much talent in this band. The way they incorporate guest singers is flawless as well. Geoff and Layne make some of the best a’capella arrangements I’ve ever heard. Ugh, I will never get enough of Voiceplay
This is better than Glee or Pentatonix or both of them COMBINED. The complexity in this areangement is INSANE, not to mention the talent of the performers!! Wicked is my favourite musical so this is extra special for me!!
Did someone already mention how adorable Cesar is? You have to love his positive energy and when he turned towards Geoff (at 5:30 or so because I knew you) so sweet
Geoff, this is an absolutely *stunning* arrangement. Never fails to make me cry and smile at the same time. And Layne, with your insane beatboxing - Eli with the beautiful rockstar voice even in the highest tones. And Cesar with your angelic voice ( and sometimes demonic rage - "Kill the witch!"), always bringing a warm nostalgia to my heart. And Rachel and Emoni - No one could've done Elphaba and Glinda like you! I love the *soul* Emoni brought to "popular" and Rachel's "Defying Gravity" never fails to make me feel like I'm soaring.
And don't get me started on the tears at "For Good"....
Anyone else love the hand gesture Rachel made when she hit the triple-high-note in defying gravity (which she hit like it was nothing)?
They’re all so talented, this was magic to watch 🤯
Rachel's voice as Elphaba is SPOT ON
Especially that final note
Rachel. Just...wow ❤️
I’m really impressed with your comment,if you don’t mind friendship please were are you from?
@@tonybaroud3511 down horrendous
I didn't know I needed Rachel Potter singing Defying Gravity in my life until now.
so, i think we can all agree we need a full Wicked cover album now. i especially want to hear Eli's "Dancing Through Life"
That look from Geoff was priceless.
Rachel's voice is just so fantastic. I agree with whoever said that she should just join Voiceplay permanently. Of course she's been doing a bang-up job on her own on Broadway.
Rachel's voice is just out of this world!
I’m really impressed with your comment,if you don’t mind friendship please were are you from?
You can tell they put a LOT of work and love into this. All of VoicePlay’s songs are my favorite version of the song. They are truly talented, as they do almost every part of the production by themselves. No other group is even close to their talent. Most of the other groups just do the singing. 🥰🎶❣️
Thank you for having Emoni singing for Glinda. Having someone who is canonically popular and beautiful played by someone who is “fat” (in quotes because I use it to describe myself but other people may find it offensive) can be incredibly helpful for people’s self esteem. It just goes to show that we don’t all have to look like the magazine models to be beautiful.
Also am I the only one who noticed that Tony has been involved more with VoicePlay videos lately, behind the scenes for the last two they released. It might just be coincidence, but it does show that they’re still on good terms.
Aren’t Tony and Layne the owners of Pattycake Studios where they film most of their videos?
Yeah they film a lot of videos at Pattycake Studios, Layne and Tony own it so it's natural that's one of the first places they go to. Love the rest tho!
@@iamthegreatpapyrus2905 Are you under the impression that those are mutually exclusive?
I totally agree with you. Emoni is a big girl and is absolutely smoking hot. I find the obsession with tiny, skinny girls a bit weird to be honest. It's fine if a woman is naturally thin, but some women are naturally big even with a good diet and exercise. I imagine Emoni is phenomenally active with a very busy schedule, but is probably like a lot of us in that it's easy to put weight on and hard to lose it. She's gorgeous, talented, has the voice of an angel and looks like she's a lot of fun.
Rachel singing Defying Gravity gave me 100 years. I loved this medley of Wicked. You guys are sooooo good!!!
Am I the only one who was expecting to hear "As Long As You're Mine"?
That last note hurts my heart because it signals the end of the medley... Such a beautiful compilation. Thank you.
Geoff is The Wizard we didn't thought we need...
I’m really impressed with your comment,if you don’t mind friendship please were are you from?
This comment took me a long time to formulate (and a version was originally posted on Patreon). I was trying to find the words to describe how I feel about this one. It is not often I am at a loss for words. I'm still unsure I've properly verbalized it, but here we go...
This arrangement just knocked me back, it's just SO detailed. The iconic songs are in there, and they are beautifully done, but it is things like the weaving together of "Popular" and "One Short Day" (for example) or just that perfect little snippet of "Wonderful" that is the real brilliance to me. There is so much going on, it's difficult to take it all in. I just adore this arrangement. And the performances? Everyone was on TOP of their game for this one, y'all make it seem *so* easy, but it's not.
Then there's "Defying Gravity." I feel the segue out of "For Good" into it was perfectly subtle (especially if one is unfamiliar with the lyrics (not me 😁)). And that moment the light goes green and Rachel sings "So if you care to find me..." ...when it hit, I got chills and teared up simultaneously.
So, in summary for TL:DR... Very well done, and thank you! 💚
I don't know any of this music so I fear I am missing out on some of the complexity you describe. Maybe I should quit now, go watch the musical a dozen times, then come back to this arrangement.
The most amazing Thanksgiving gift I have ever received. My husband and I went and saw Wicked years ago, and this is my first Thanksgiving without him in 53 years, so your reminder of an amazing time together brought a sweet sadness and thankfulness that I had him for so long. I wish I could hug every one of you.
💖

I'm sorry he's gone, but I'm glad this made you smile ❤️
❤️❤️
When they looked at each other on "because I knew you"... that's magical! I got goosebumps!

Funniest moment: 3:43
Cesar: *screams* "KILL THE WITCH"
*looks at Geoff with the Right dad look*
Geoff: gives Cesar a dad look
Cesar: "sorry dad"
I really love when Rachel Potter sings with VP. Her tone blends in so well with their voices.
Her voice in general is stunning. Love her tone so much and she's mixing incredibly well

The world is about to be introduced to a phenomenon. Acapella done with style, creativity, and with harmonies that change the game. Vocal quality and arrangement that has no peer. For those that are just finding VoicePlay you are in for a musical treat that'll open you up to a world of pleasure and fun for all your senses. This is what acapella is meant to be. This is VoicePlay! To Geoff, Layne, Eli, and Cesar, thank you for all you do to make the world a little brighter. Rachel, you'll always be the fifth member of this extraordinary team to me. And Emoni, thank you for sharing your gift with us! You all are special talents.
Omg to begin with I love this play its one of my favorites... this medley was AMAZING... absolutely love Rachel as Elphaba her voice was perfect for it
Geoff went through all that work to get from "For Good" in D-flat major to the opening of "Defying Gravity" in B major, and then the song only stays there for like a measure and heads straight back into D-flat major. LOL, that's dedication!
I'm so impressed by Rachel here. It's hard to take a more supporting role and not overshadow someone with how strong of a voice she has. This was a beautiful arrangement and I loved it!
Ive only seen a few videos of Emoni but she seems like someone thats always overflowing with love and laughter
Rachel Potter went beyond my epectations. i'm stunned
The Medley lyrics (many thanks to @TaniRomanenko for the help)
1. 0:00 No One Mourns the Wicked
VoicePlay as Citizens of Oz:
Cesar:
Nothing grows for the Wicked
They reap only
What they sow
No one mourns the Wicked
No one cries "They won't return!"
No one lays a lily on their grave
Eli:
The good man scorns the Wicked!
Through their lives, our children learn
All:
What we miss, when we misbehave:
Emoni:
And Goodness knows
The Wicked's lives are lonely
And Goodness knows
The Wicked die alone
(Nothing grows for the Wicked)
Nothing grows for the Wicked
Geoff:
Nothing grows for the Wicked
They reap only
What they've sown
(Good news!)
Good news!
(Good news!)
Good news! (Good news)
2. 1:14 The Wizard and I
Rachel as Elphaba:
When I meet the Wizard
Once I prove my worth
And then I meet the Wizard
What I've waited for since birth
He'll say to me I see who you truly are
A girl on whom I can rely
And that's how we'll begin
The Wizard (The Wizard) the Wizard and I
3. 1:43 Dancing Through Life
Eli as Fiyero:
Dancing through life
Skimming the surface
Gliding where turf is smooth
Geoff:
Life's more painless
For the brainless
Why think too hard?
When it's so soothing (subharmonics)
Eli:
Dancing through life
No need to tough it
When you can slough it off as I do
Nothing matters
But knowing nothing matters
It's just life
So keep dancing through
Dancing through, gee, gee!
La La
4. 2:22 Popular
Emoni as Glinda:
Don't be offended by my frank analysis
Think of it as personality dialysis
Now that I've chosen to become a pal
A sister and adviser, there's nobody wiser
Not when it comes to
Popular, I know about popular
And with an assist from me to be who you'll be
Instead of dreary who-you-were, well, are
There's nothing that can stop you
From becoming popu-ler... lar
(One short day in the emerald city
One short day in the emerald city)
La la, la la
You'll be popular
Just not quite as popular
AAAAas meeeee!
5. 3:14 Wonderful
Geoff as Wizard:
'Cause it feels wonderful
They think I'm wonderful
Hey, look who's wonderful
This corn-fed hick
Who said, "It might be keen
To build a town of green
And a wonderful road of yellow brick!"
6. 3:37 March of the Witch Hunters
Go and hunt her
And find her
And kill her
Kill the Witch!
Go and hunt her
And find her
And kill her
Wickedness must be punished
Effectively eliminated
Wickedness must be punished
Kill the Witch! Kill the Witch!
Punish by the Good!
7. 4:04 Defying Gravity
Emoni as Glinda:
I hope you're happy
Now that you're choosing this
I hope it brings you bliss.
8. 4:12 For Good
Emoni as Glinda:
I've heard it said
That people come into our lives
For a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led to those
Who help us most to grow if we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you
Rachel as Elphaba:
Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes the sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better
I do believe I have been changed for the better
Because I knew you
(Because I knew you)
Because I knew you
Because I, Because I knew you
I have been changed for good
9. 5:42 Defying Gravity
Unlimited
Together we
I hope you're happy in the end
I hope you're happy my friend
Rachel as Elphaba:
So if you care to find me
Look to the Western Sky
As someone told me lately
"Everyone deserves a chance to fly"
And if I'm flying solo
At least I'm flying free
To those who ground me
Take a message back from me!
Tell them how
I am defying gravity
I'm flying high and
Defying gravity
And soon I'll match them in renown
And nobody in all of Oz
No Wizard that there is or was
Is ever gonna bring me down!

AAA
Not when it comes to
Popular,
I know about popular
And with an assist from me
To be who you'll be
Instead of dreary who-you-were, well, are
There's nothing that can stop you
From becoming popu-ler... lar

Thanks!
Awesome - you should post this on the public video when it comes out!
“Laaaa laaaa, laaaaaa laaaaa! You’ll be popular!” “🕷Boom, crash, bam, boom🕸 … KIDDING!”
Wow thank u
Aww, no As Long As You're Mine?
So glad to see Rachel again! The whole medley is great but having Rachel back makes it very special!
What I love is that the group does a variety of music and it's wonderful.
Love this genius arrangement even more now than when I first heard it in its Patreon debut! I keep finding new things to appreciate in it every time I watch it and listen to it. 🥰
okay we've seen Peter Hollens and Nick Pitera do a Wicked medley but this just elevated what a Wicked medley should BE. Geoff's arrangement ability is OUTSTANDING. in the span of ten hours ive been listening to it at least three time an hour just to get every bit I can of it and I'm STILL picking out bits and pieces I didn't hear the first time. Fucking FABULOUS. Rachel is SERVING Elphaba vibes and Emoni is embodying Glinda I'm 100% here for it
Peter also did one with the Wicked cast. I must say it’s better than Peter and Nick Pitera’s, but nothing matches this one. This completely blew us away and my new number one with Hoist the Colours right on its tail. I wonder what’s going on with Geoff this late in the year…
This song/video should have 541 bazillion views and likes. All of VoicePlay's videos should have bazillion of views. VoicePlay is so underrated! This is my #1 medley they've done.
I watched Hannah Bayles react to this in school and I just about cried. I’m still so shaken up, this was absolutely incredible
Ok not that every single part of this wasn't absolutely and utterly STUNNING, but the way Emoni works those harmonies is so amazing.
Despite my unfamiliarity with Wicked I enjoyed it very much! I looked forward to a day when Voiceplay may one day tour again so I cannae them live!
OH MY GOSH i just watched this i love it so much i am a hug fan of wicked i love it so much great job guys lovely work!!!!!!!!
8/10. OUT OF THIS WORLD!
you are unreal. fantastic experience. I love you and your work
Just Wow!!! I am just floored. This arrangement was so interesting! It kept these songs which are well known so fresh. This is the first time I’ve ever heard Emoni. I am floored. Also Rachel is a true goddess. Like what on earth were those flourishes in defying gravity. I am stunned.
I'm very fond of the original Wicked soundtrack but I also enjoy listening to Geoff's arrangement & VoicePlay's medley too! Have been listening to this and the original soundtrack the entire week
💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Shivers up my spine every time! Just flat-out amazing!!
6:40 I think my soul left my body, so amazing!!!
I've never really been a fan of Wicked (I just don't watch a lot of theatre), but this was absolutely amazing. Fantastic arrangement. First time seeing Emoni, and her voice is beautiful. That opening with "Nothing Grows for the Wicked" was fantastic, and Popular was great too.
The whole thing was great, but in my opinion, Rachel's performance of Defying Gravity stole this for me. She's worked with Voiceplay a number of times, and I wish they'd just make her a full-time member already xD
everyone wishes Rachel would join, but she lives too far away from them. a new member would have to live in Florida or close by, and she lives far away with her family and a steady job.
Voiceplay is always awesome, and so is Rachel, but Emoni is absolutely stunning in this - that solo moment of For Good is *chills* every time.
1/17. THIS IS A SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE. "WICKED" IS INSPIRATIONAL. IT IS FABULOUS THE WAY VOICE PLAY WEAVES EVERYTHING TOGETHER. WONDERFUL HARMONIES!
I saw this show with my sister years ago. Going to Broadway shows is something we haven't been able to do in a while. Thank you for giving me a happy memory. I'm not crying. You are.
I’m really impressed with your comment,if you don’t mind friendship please were are you from?
I don't know the musical, so most of the songs were new to me. I think I've heard Popular before somewhere and of course Defying Gravity. But thanks to Glee I learned to hate that song. So thank you, VP and Rachel, for this version I love to listen to. How do they always know what kind of voice the songs need and sound that way? Meanwhile I am sitting here, already happy when I just hit the right note, not even trying to sound any kind of way.
Cesar's "kill the witch" and Geoff's look are priceless, but I can't get over how Cesar looks at Geoff during the "because I knew you". 😢 But to be honest, at that point my eyes are already debating whether to tear up or not since Emoni startet that part of the medley. Maybe I should give the original songs - especially that one (For Good?) - a listen, but I feel like it's mainly Emoni's and Cesar's fault. Their voices with just the humming or bass underneath sound so beautiful. And after listening to a VP version I always miss Layne's beat in the original songs. 😁
I love that in this one, as almost always, every person has a moment to shine and i get to hear all of my favorite voices. But can somebody tell those reactors that this one high note comes from Eli, not Rachel? Many seem to get confused and not all of them notice their mistake. 😂 It's so much fun to watch Eli. He kills the vocals and is so charismatic.
ok but rachel sing defying gravity was just a blessing, she’s amazing!! great job everyone, geoff did great with the arrangements ❤️❤️
Cesar appreciation moment because I'm his simp, 2:26 yass queen moment, 2:38 the cutest thing ever my heart melted he's adorable and I love him, that's it.
12/21. WHAT A SUPERP PERFORMANCE!. THANK YOU, VOICE PLAY! YOU HAVE BLESSED ME WITH HUNDREDS OF HOURS OF PLEASURE THIS PAST YEAR! HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A HEALTHY, LOVE FILLED 2023! (I LISTEN TO VP. DAILY!)
I found Voiceplay a month ago and have become slightly obsessed. You have inspired me to start singing again. It’s been about 20 years since I sang seriously. I’m very happy I started again even if I’m not even close to your talent.😀
2/28. INSPIRATIONAL! Thank you for including the lyrics! The harmonizing is out of this world! Keep dancing through life.
Oh m'y goodness!!!
Thé voices... Thé arrangements..
This IS juste brilliant.
Wow!!!
Eza
There have now been pretty much the same number of total views on reactions to this, as there have been on the video itself! This should be in the millions by now, it's just amazing!!
OMG Layne! That run at the beginning of Defying Gravity! Utterly amazing!!
Geoff, the arrangement is absolutely superb! Every one of you were incredible!!! Tempo, pitch, blend... it doesn't get any better than this!!!!! And Eli, this old retired session singer has a real soft spot for that amazing voice of yours... YOU ROCKED IT!
Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!
Look. This is absurd. I don’t even know Wicked and this brought me to tears. Just spectacular.
1:41 that transition is everything, I will never get tired of your voice ELI!!!
Always happy to see more Rachel Potter collabs. :)
The arrangement……omg it’s of the chart. Freaking hell, just when you think you have seen the best…..they raise the bar again. These guys/girls….they are freaking awesome.
Besides the singing A thing i really love is how Rachel is looking and turning to whoever is having the solo. She really looks like so much fun :D
Agree! Rachel has always done this too. And she is just a true spark of magnetic joy 🤩
I would love to see a full Populur-lar. lol That song is just such fun. Wickedness must be punished was trippy, loved itttt.
Obviously the vocals, harmonies and arrangement are superb as expected, but can we talk about Layne? Holy crap. I don't think I have had my mind blown by a vocal percussion performance like that since the first time I heard a Jeff Thatcher solo. Can't wait to see the reactors making the same stupid faces I was undoubtedly making.
INSPIRATIONAL! Thank you for including the lyrics. Awesome close harmony! A CLASS ACT! BRAVO! 10 out of 10
11/16. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PERFORMANCES! OUTSTANDING HARMONIZING! VP HAS GIVEN ME MANY HOURS OF PLEASURE OVER THE LAST 18 MONTHS! THANK YOU! RACHEL AND EMONI ARE WONDERFUL! AND, OF COURSE, ALL THE VP SINGERS ARE OUTSTANDING!
I’ve never heard the original version, and honestly I’m good with that because I cannot imagine it being anywhere close to the auditory perfection this is.
Can I just say, it's super enjoyable to watch you beautiful people and listen to your beautiful voices? It goes for everything you've made, ever, but I gotta express it somewhere.
3:16 I think this time Eli really takes over the bass line while Geoff sings his solo. It's not a low bass line but it's still a nice detail and pretty impressive
I think so too, the tone of the notes matches with Eli's voice instead of Geoff's voice in that range. ;)
@@youtubingjaguar5082Now I really want more of Eli's bass lines while Geoff sings solos😂
Bruh everyone has premium lmao
@@TheRealSchmom If i'm not mistaken, Eli also does the bass line in "Shiny" in the Moana Medley
@@FilipeLGalvao we all thought so. But Layne said in an interview that it was Geoff.
I was so much hoping to hear Rachel sing „Defying Gravity“ 🤩🙌 this is absolutely amazing - all of them! 💙
6:07 - 6:21 SLAY IT QUEEN
Fantastic arrangement. It's always great to see Rachel with the group. Her voice is such a great fit,
My favorite part is Rachel's 3-part build of defy-y-Ying gravity. With her hand motions it's like she's charging a spell. Her outfit suits it really well too. She'd be great for the wicked witch part tbh.
Beautiful!!! Absolutely amazing, stunning, extravagant, bewitching, and awesome!!! Love it!!
Great job VoicePlay. Hope you get at least a grammy nomination!
1/12 FANTASTIC PERFORMANCES BY ALL SINGING! THE HARMONIES ARE SO WONDERFUL!
