Some parts of the conversation in the video still hard to grasp as the actress tends to ‘blend’ the words together.
I suppose this happens with English movies too .
Just have to be more tuned into Mandarin I suppose.

Yes you are right.Same thing like English because it's so fast to foreign learners. BUT the difference is English do "eat" sounds, Chinese don't "eat" sounds just to fast "blend" words together.If you practice and repeat many times and do more practice more contents like this, you will get "Chinese ears" that can grasp the whole words.

Here is what I think about this: I did say very clear and that's for explanation, when I speak in real daily life, the same speed like her or even faster than her. I think to understand the common speed, first we need to understand the content and understand the slower speed.Above this, then we can catch the common speed.(step1：at least 100% understand slower speed ----step2: understand faster ones)This need more practice.Thank you for your comment

@@canachinese1122 thanks for the explanation. I love watching Taiwan dramas and they don’t seem to talk so fast, but some mainland china dramas do. Is it perhaps a certain region, like people in the north speak faster?

My opinion：different people speak in different speed for instance I speak quite fast in my normal speed. And the way that people who live in Taiwan,they do speak in a particular way which native speakers can immediately they from Taiwan，maybe that's another reason like you say.@@hassanscottodierno9284
