I love this video! I listened to every sentence, and tried to say it in a similar way to you looking only at the characters if I forgot something. What have you learned in this video? (Expressions, vocabulary, slangs ...)
戒, then at the end of the video you said 戒掉 not sure if that's the full word for 戒
Good question! 戒 is the action, to quit. 戒掉 is the action + result, to successfully quit something. It's a "Verb + result complement" structure, some other examples are like: 扔掉 - to throw away. 吃掉 - to eat all the food. 忘掉 - to forget. So you see the "掉" as a result complement has a feeling of "disappearing"@@johnmofula
I learned that you only take shower once a day, and I believe that was because you took an evening run, if it wasn't, you will not take shower, 对不对😄
