Gem, your videos are becoming more sophisticated in terms of visuals, transitions, even your voiceovers, mad props to you for that. Keep hustling brotha.
I'm surprised there aren't more paint issues. As a kit builder and painter, I'm amazed at the job these companies do at scale. A few paint chips or irregularities should almost be the norm. It's super hard to paint at that quality level and make it perfect. I'm always looking for videos on what the factory looks like as they paint these. You'd be amazed. Great video, Gem!
Hey gem, thanks for taking the time to show us both of them, but I think I'm on the side of going with the modern version. I do however think they're both awesome pieces, once again thanks.
Thank you Josh and Jess Phelps for helping provide this double statue review. I really like both of these statues a lot. I think I like the modern version just a little bit more, but the comic version would look better with my collection so I'd lean to that.
SWEET! I was able to grab a classic version for the collection. Love that classic blue and gold. It really pops. Got to run with the smiling portrait man
It’s a closer race than I expected, but slightly prefer the comic version. And I prefer the smiling version looking at the gauntlet, but it’s still too bad about the paint issue on the other one.
Great review, like how you did the side-by-side. Both look great and if you are a fan of either version you won’t be disappointed. Personally, I like the comic version. Those colors, the blue and yellow are classic. Thanks!
With the side by side I think I’m leaning towards the comic version even though the modern has incredible paint application in regards to the shading in the body which looks great but I just love the comic version because that’s what I know Thanos to look like
I've got to go with the modern version. The shading with the paint apps really make the details and musculature pop!! Thanks for another awesome video.
The modern slightly edges the win for me with the paint apps having more depth in the gold, giving it a realistic metal look. And the body seems to have more shading.
The classic version looks great on its own, but next to the modern, it looks like a before and after, like the classic version is just painted with primer before it gets the gold finish and shading. I don't have any statues, but I'd probably choose whichever fit with the rest of the collection, cause they're both very nice.
I think the choice of preference may depend on how you were introduced to Thanos. Some folks maybe newer and come from the movies to comics and prefer the modern one since it does have some cinema similarity. But some folks may have been fans of Thanos from the comics since day one and may prefer the more comic version. Its really a hard call for me. I guess I lean toward the comic version.
I'd go for modern version cause of the line I had it set up! And idk if it if just me or what but it looks like the comic version's hands seems a bit bigger in size? Love these videos! Keep it up man!
You could say they are both "perfectly balanced, as all things should be" in how great they look! Personally, I'd lean slightly more towards the modern look but you're definitely right about the color contrast and pop that the comic accurate version has.
I like this awesome video with the two statues another awesome video you always do I love the the statues colors and how their pros on their base thank you for showing them off to us and I hope you and your loving family are having a wonderful day and night thank you so much for what you do still
What a cool video! At the end of the video it could be fun mix the pieces between the Classic and Modern versions and have some Classic hands/head/shoulder pads on the Modern Thanos ahahahaha
This does put a smile on my face.
This is a close one but I’m gonna go with the comic version. That more of a yellowish color stands out for me.

Bowen Designs was superb about avoiding paint issues throughout all their lines for over a decade. Still unsurpassed for quality control.
@@ericjohnson9642 I would love to see videos on how these are done at scale. There just aren't any good You Tube videos on the process.
Hey gem, thanks for taking the time to show us both of them, but I think I'm on the side of going with the modern version. I do however think they're both awesome pieces, once again thanks.
The sculpt is amazing. I’m digging the modern look more, l feel the details just pop more.
Thank you Josh and Jess Phelps for helping provide this double statue review. I really like both of these statues a lot. I think I like the modern version just a little bit more, but the comic version would look better with my collection so I'd lean to that.
Modern version, for me. He looks more menacing and realistic, especially with the grin.
SWEET! I was able to grab a classic version for the collection. Love that classic blue and gold. It really pops. Got to run with the smiling portrait man
The hands on both of these are is what stands out for me .... love the light up features
I still gotta stay old school gem. It’s the blue and gold.
Besides the small blemish on the face this thing is amazzzzzzing!! The colors and light up glove is super sick.
Huge fan of the comic Thanos. I'll always lean in the comic direction.
Comic version for sure!!!! Awesome comparison and breakdown! Stay Minty!
Thank you for the video Gem 💎 this was much needed for me!!
Loving the light up gauntlet on both.
Great video, where you compare the two, and we can judge for ourselves which one to buy. Great job!
For just a second, I thought it was “classic Gem” standing next to “modern Gem”
It’s a closer race than I expected, but slightly prefer the comic version. And I prefer the smiling version looking at the gauntlet, but it’s still too bad about the paint issue on the other one.
Great review, like how you did the side-by-side. Both look great and if you are a fan of either version you won’t be disappointed. Personally, I like the comic version. Those colors, the blue and yellow are classic. Thanks!
The classic version is definitely the way to go IMO. That blue just pops.
Mine should be here tomorrow. International shipping took a while, but can't wait for this.
Classic looks dope as hell! Definitely prefer the comic look and how well the paint was done
With the side by side I think I’m leaning towards the comic version even though the modern has incredible paint application in regards to the shading in the body which looks great but I just love the comic version because that’s what I know Thanos to look like
I gotta lean towards the comic version of Thanos. Looks so good! Always a great video, Gem. Mad love.
These are way cooler than I originally thought!
The light up gauntlets are such a nice touch. They both look amazing it so hard to pick which one I like more
Appreciate what you do man, good stuff
Love the smiling portrait and have to go with the classic comic look
I love the classic Thanos statue. Great vid
I like the modern version slightly more. Great double unboxing and review!
I've got to go with the modern version. The shading with the paint apps really make the details and musculature pop!! Thanks for another awesome video.
Both are equally great, just for different reasons. Great review!!
The modern slightly edges the win for me with the paint apps having more depth in the gold, giving it a realistic metal look. And the body seems to have more shading.

2 dope pieces for real 💯
I'd go for modern version cause of the line I had it set up! And idk if it if just me or what but it looks like the comic version's hands seems a bit bigger in size?
Love these videos! Keep it up man!
Modern FTW! Shading look great on that piece.
Thanos with that big bright bling, bling! We know you got a book of bars, Gem..When are you gonna flow? Another Great review!
Thanks so much for making this video. I've been debating between both. I like both for different reasons.
They both look great but I’d go modern. Liking it a bit more then the yellow.
That gold paintjob just pops so much more imo
Awesome vid as always my dude! I personally prefer the comics version since this is the one i grew up on and loved since the early 90's :)
Super cool video. I think I like the modern version better, the depth just popped more.
That smiling face is super sinister -- that's the one I'd use!
Double Thanos double the threat! This is just too EPIC!
Damn, that modern version tho.
Superb video, BTW. Shows both off really well.
That classic Vibe hit differently
Love both of them, though the modern version is a bit more detailed
Two great versions, now we need this in 1/4!!
With the individual pieces I like the modern more, but all put together, the comic version just pops!
I am still a sucker for the classic versions, they both look great but man the Yellow and Blue is awesome!
My vote for the modern version. The bronze paint has a beautiful depth to it. Loving the grinning face sculpt!
Love the comic version! Color just pops!!
It’s awesome that you had both to compare them side by side. I like the modern version better. Really nice 🤙
I have Thanos on Throne but would love to buy the modern one you just reviewed...
Old school Thanos gets my vote . Both fantastic
They both look so good, I don’t know if I could decide which one is best
Gotta go with the comic version. Love that yellow!
Thanks for making a comparison video, I think I'm leaning towards the modern version a little more.
I'm going with the comic version. Reminds of the rams jerseys when they went from yellow to gold lol
Hey man they both look great to me and thanks to Josh! Way cool
You could say they are both "perfectly balanced, as all things should be" in how great they look! Personally, I'd lean slightly more towards the modern look but you're definitely right about the color contrast and pop that the comic accurate version has.
I personally like the classic version better but both of them definitely make me smile
Comic book version. Love the yellow.
Thanks for the comparison. I went with modern myself.
LOVE that comic version!
It’s real close for me too but I gotta go comic Thanos. There’s just something about those classic colors
Classic: Grrrr!
Modern: GRRR!
As much as the burnished gold of the modern is badass, the classic has that popping bright yellow seems signature!
I’d love to own either of these…. Great review, man!
These both look great-I prefer the modern version with him smiling at the guantlet-captures that classic comic feel for Thanos.
Amazing! I can’t decide, I love them both!
Both are dope! Almost went with the modern but got the XM Thanos instead.
That is a tough call. Probably have to go with the Modern, the yellow on the Classic is just too bright. Looks a bit garish.
Tough call. I really like both.
Thanks, I like these comparison vids.
I like this awesome video with the two statues another awesome video you always do I love the the statues colors and how their pros on their base thank you for showing them off to us and I hope you and your loving family are having a wonderful day and night thank you so much for what you do still
Love the modern, but would be happy with either one!
I like the classic comic book look but prefer movie version thanos when it comes to statues.
love it but it could really do with a few broken skulls in the base
For me, this is hands down the comic version, I love the bright contrast in colours, it just really pops!
Great comparison. It's close, but I prefer the comic version.
Thanks for the great review! I love both versions but if I would have to choose one, I think I'd go for the comic version. Keep up the good work!
i like the darker colors. it makes thanos more evil and the gold color gives him a clean look
I think I like the shading I. The modern version more, but it’s difficult to beat the comic version! Both are a win in my book! Good stuff!
Normaly I would prever the comic version, but the realistic version is better! And the Infinity Stones are in the right color! Grrat video again!!
I’ve needed this video so I can make up my mind on which one I truly want!
Definitely a close call!
I like that modern look!
What a cool video!
At the end of the video it could be fun mix the pieces between the Classic and Modern versions and have some Classic hands/head/shoulder pads on the Modern Thanos ahahahaha
Always gotta crush the Avengers symbol and establish your dominance. I think I prefer the modern version. Great video, Gem!
Very old school, just perfect.
As an old comic book head who bought the original Jim Starlin run when it came out - I gotta vote on the Classic version.
The classic take me back, but I prefer the modern I like the gold especially with the red eyes and sinister grin of the second head sculpt.
They are good looking pieces. I ended up cancelling my modern version due to continual delays. I might re-order again in future
5 star rating and Jem always a pleasure Keep up the good work
Love the "In Living Color" reference with the "2 snaps in a circle" comment.
Nice. Since I got the modern bust i think the classic is for me
That fade at 0:56 🔥
