That fabric doesn't match the state of Superman floating in the hair. It should have had a wire in it for some kind of effect denoting levitation and movement.
Ok, I'm genuinely impressed. Normally I'm the guy that says No to mixed media. I almost always prefer sculpted. But that custom cape really works. 1. Look at how Superman is just hovering there. The stillness of that cape really fits with the statue's story. 2. My personal preference. This version has the Yellow S on the back Glad to see the glue held on. I'm always afraid the magnet will rip right off. Overall, beautiful display DT

Sculpted cape all the way DT! I hear from other collectors that mixed media capes are hard to maintain. Once dust gets on them, it’s a pain to get out. Also I hear mixed media capes should be in climate controlled rooms. Or else you may get mold and tears in them. And with this statue, you need to keep this in pristine condition. Awesome statue! 👍🏽👍🏽
I'm all about the sculpted cape and will choose it 99% time, for the reasons you mentioned. I get why some people prefer fabric and posable figures. But for me, it feels more like art when you can look at a piece and see the artist's interpretation. That being said, I am glad I picked up this option, just because of the size of the statue and making it work in different display set ups!

When it comes to capes I can lean either way. I'm usually very leery of sculpted capes, especially the really big ones, out of fear of them breaking. Also a lot of them demand a LOT of space for display. It's those reasons I'm partial to fabric capes. However for fabric capes it depends on the fabric used for the cape and how easy it is to position. I too have the Hush Superman and opted for the fabric cape version. However the cape was a nightmare to pose. The wire inside the cape was thick and much to hard to manipulate, at least for me. I also didn't like how the cape was made; the tabs that was supposed to keep the cape attached didn't work very well and the silk-like material wasn't to my liking. So I decided to get a custom cape as well, no wire like yours, and it made my Superman look a million times better. So yeah, my vote goes with the fabric cape when it comes to this particular piece. Not only does it look better (to me) but it isn't such a space hog and is likely much easier on the statue itself when it comes to weight.

All of those highly expensive statues imitating how those superheros are flying, levitating, hovering and etc. I want to see better flying effect. I mean, I know that there's a way to make the figure look like it's really ,,flying" for the eyes. There is way to trick the eyes. I hope, that some manufacturer will think about that and will say: ,,you know what,let's make our Superman really ,,fly". Lets trick the eyes of our customers in the same way, how the illusionist do that with our eyes" Sorry about my bad english 😉
When I saw superman with sculpted cape, I was like:it's AMAZING!!! When I saw superman with fabric cape,I was like:it actually looks better than sculpted one.
The fabric cape is so much better because there is awesome detail fabric textures in the sculpt of Superman. The sculpt cape is dynamic but a smooth cartoony look, it probably would look better on an animated sculpt.
I think having a fabric option is good, but the wire is necessary simply because up in the air, the wind is likely blowing and there would be some movement. Very nice cape though. Did you know the base on the fabric version rotates in order to display superman facing the logo on back? I think they should have done both that way if they didn't.

I think the Clay Cape is a good look if you want to have a Solo Superman look but with many other superhero’s the Cloth cape is better because the sculpture would get in the way

I think it varies from wife to wife. I lucked out and got one that can appreciate a good Superman. Batman Who Laughs, however, must stay in the basement!
I found on my Superman Hush 1/3 Prime 1 Studio statue that the cape was about 2 inches longer on one side than the other. There is also the iron rod on the longer side which obviously does not cover the entire length of the fabric. I made a complaint to the dealer but prime 1 refuses to replace the cape saying it is a simple variation. Would you please kindly let me know if your statue's cloak has a similar defect.
Sorry to hear about your issue. The fabric cape in this video is a custom accessory and not made by Prime 1. The official Prime 1 cape is a bit longer I believe. But from the photos I’ve seen, it appears to be symmetrical. I would assume that it wouldn’t look too good if posed straight down but might be less noticeable if positioned to the sides (like the sculpted). Does the wire allow you to do this? If your on Facebook, shoot me a pic to DT Tube and I can give you a better opinion. I say if it bothers you enough, you should keep on P1, as I would think the cape should be the same length on both sides.

I, too, prefer sculpted capes. But, I'm not a fan of this statue. The boots look horrible, and the black highlights make it look cheap and not unprofessionally made.

They did a great job with the sculpted part. Looks like good quality to match supes. I love both looks. Piece is amazing either way.
