Take note people. Dan is an actual mans man. He's a quiet, softly spoken, humble guy. He could quickly take you apart if you really wanted him to. He's always the toughest guy in the room, but he doesn't need his ego stroked. Bruce Lee said it best. "Showing off is the fools idea of glory." Mr Severn NEVER showed off. Forget the loud mouths out there. Emulate Dan.
I wrestled with Dan over 20 years ago, he's one tough dude, and incredibly nice.
He was fighting guys in the ufc who looked juice to the gills and dan looked clean. He's the real deal abs a Legit hard man.
Dan Severn is a really nice guy. I have met him. Now if Bill Goldberg told Ken Shamrock, "I mimicked you, Ken!" Then Ken would have said, "I CREATED Bill Goldberg!"

I not only met him but got to put the NWA Heavyweight Title around his waist when I was working security for NWA New England. He is a very humble and nice man,when he asked me to get the title from where he'd been signing autographs just a few minutes earlier he was super nice about it and then when I brought it to him he said "I hate to impose on you but, would you mind strapping it around my waist."

Dan Severn is one of those guys that is deceivingly strong. He doesn’t look like a freak of nature or anything, but Mick Foley said he was one of the strongest guys he’d ever worked with.

Dan really was a guy out of time, had he debuted like 3 years before he did the matches they could have had would have been fucking awesome, dude legit had this aura about him that screamed "Dont fuck with me" and thinking about matches he could have had with the likes of Bret, Razor, HBK, Vader, Sid, Undertaker, or even helping to build up Austin in 1995/1996 would have been fucking awesome

I met dan about 15 years ago n saw all the UFC beltw n had unopened Dan wrestling figure n got him to sign it he was cool

This is an example of Russo not being a creative.genius he pretended to be. Bischoff made a star out of an ex football player pretending to be Dan Severn when Russo didn't know what to do with the real one.
Goldberg also had much more of an intimidating appearance and brute strength in the ring.
Severn didn't manage to transition well into pro wrestling from MMA. That's what the issue was. His type of WWE style was more chops, slaps and arm locks which the audience didn't quite understand. Goldberg was just brute strength and power moves. His style was far more aggressive and exciting and the audience bought into it easier.
ironically to me his best match was with regal, goldberg showed that he knew chain wrestling and submissions too.

Everyone is saying he's a nice, great, honest laid-back guy. And he probably is. But....I've watched 2 interviews with him....and he does tend to toot his own horn lol.

He has a 101-19 MMA record, held the NWA Heavyweight championship and the UFC championship title at the same time, had a lot of success in Japan, had a decent little run in the WWF - he's done it ALL, how do you expect him to act with such a resume?
Im probably gonna get riptfpr this but dan severn reminds me a bit of yor from spyxfamily. Sweet, nice and just a good guy to be around but when he goes "beast mode" he is the most dangerous person present.

Both are legends and deserve respect. But make no mistake, Dan the Beast would have destroyed Goldberg in both of their primes. Goldberg is a great athlete, no doubt about it, but Dan was a real fighter who did it for a living.

Do you understand the wrestling business at all? Anything from the WWF from the '80s on was a corporate creation. Everything since the regional era is a corporate creation. I mean, surely you realize that it's all... ...scripted... ...make believe... ...straight from someone's imagination.
Dan Severn was trained by Al Snow just as Bill Goldberg was trained by the old school vets that WCW put together at 'the Power Plant'. Then, they made their debuts, got some experience, and were given a push. And, when it was all said and done, Bill just had MUCH more natural charisma than Dan ever did. That's no slight at Dan, it just is what it is.

I just googled these 3 clowns you guys mentioned above and found nothing which I can call martial arts about them. Dan was a Div-1 wrestler and been wrestling since he was in junior high. He also hold black belts in Judo, BJJ and Sambo. Dan is a legit grappler.

Last I checked, putting on a pisspoor guillotine and pulling guard for 10-15 seconds is not kicking a person's ass. I saw Goldberg at a Denny's in California. Don't remember the town. Could of been in Temecula. Somewhere around there. That dude TOWERED over the booth. He seems like a nice guy but his timeline is way off. Goldberg debuted in late 97 and the streak was in full force come Starrcade 97. Severn didn't debut in a WWF ring til early 98.
Dude, Severn was wrestling in '92 and was WELL known for his UFC fights by '94-'95, he held the NWA HW championship and the UFC championship title at the same time - has absolutely nothing to do with the WWF run
