Ayo! Thank you, much appreciated! I posted a recent video where I upgrade to the silicone one on the same car. Much better now with that one, the foam one wore out quickly🤙🏼
Thanks sooo much! This helped a lot! I already had my car in service position too so it will make it easier. You saved the day because I was having a hard time trying to put the bushing on because my old one is just like your old one! I’m guessing they modified them because of how they didn’t last so this new one is definitely a tight fit and will last in the long run. I subscribed thanks again.

I thought it was my motor mount for the longest came across this looked immediately under my car and there isn’t even a snub busing it straight metal on metal
It will a little bit. Upgrading to the silicone version is definitely worth it. If you still have a bad vibration after this, then you likely need new engine mounts
I have had the entire front-end control arms replaced, uppers & lowers, front and rear, and new struts installed and I still have a rather loud rattling sound coming from the front of the car. It is a 2006 Audi A4 B7 sedan with a 3.2 engine and when I was changing the oil the other day, I noticed the Snub mount on the car has no material around the metal. Do you think that this is what is making the noise, it is not a light rattle, it sounds like the weight of the engine is banging something and it only makes the sound while driving on a rough road? I believe that the metal Snub is banging away at the front mount after seeing your video! I will let you know if this is what is the rattling noise is caused by, that you for your video!
Its doable with the factory mount (or PowerFlex mount) - but if you try this method with the ECS Snub Mount, you'll have to go into service position - I tried to upgrade from the PowerFlex to the ECS Snub mount but there was very little wiggle room lol
funny but i cant get the allenkey in to the bolts , wich means ive got to remove the front and loosen up the crashguard radiator etc And yes 3.2 V6 from 2007
@@Mechani_Cole I know but problem is i forgot to tell i got a a4 3.2 v6 and it seems the a6 has more space between the engine and the crashbar So i had a 1/2 hour of cursing the fursprung durch techniek , went for a 2 hour prepping to remove the front Anyways still like your movie ,i gave it a try but had to do the extra mile
@@mzan-ob1rb As I was deciding between the A4 and the A6 back in the day for a used purchase, the space argument was one I had. And it pretty clearly spoke for the A6, in more than one way. And the difference between the two with the same engine in annual costs isn't that big here in Germany. So I went with the A6 and I don't regret it one bit. I have the 2.7 TDI CR V6 from 2007 as a manual and went explicitly for the FWD version, as the quattro label only makes everything more expensive.
Not quite. But they are always worn out on everyone I have seen. Best to upgrade to the silicone mount. If your engine is shaking on turning off and on, it's likely worn engine mounts. Also very common. Best to replace both of those and the snub mount at the same time. Will drive a lot better🫡
Great video, cheers mate, Thumbs up given :D How many miles you had on the clock when you replaced the snub mount? Did you have any 4th t o3rd clunk when changing down?
This car had 115k miles on it when this was replaced. And yes, that clunk exactly. However, I am pulling the engine currently and wish I went with the nicer Polyurethane one. Because this one is already worn with only 5k miles, but the Poly one would be alot more durable. Thanks for watching! Really appreciate the comment! Cheers mate!
@@Mechani_Cole Thank you for your quick reply, really appreciate it. I get a clunk from the drivetrain when it shifts down a gear while I apply steady throttle at any speed, it does not clunk when it shifts during coasting. Does this still sound like what you had? I will definitely get the poly bush, thank you for recommending it. Have a good day mate and thank you for your help
@@bogathlorant it is similar. However, when was the last time you changed the trans fluid? I noticed on my car I still get some hard shifts from the center of the car. This fixed the noose in front, but maybe only because its a new bushing and absorbs some of the hard shift. I would suspect old trans fluid, that is currently the problem on my A6 that I am addressing after I finish removing the engine for repairs.
@mechanicole I'm on 104k miles, don't have a proof whether the oil was changed or not but it's on the list for December, will try to get it done and the snub mount at the same time. There's a local ZF specialist who will do the works and also replace the bridge seal and connector sleeve and run a full transmission diagnostic to check pressure times and values etc. Let me know if yours improves. I gotta admit when it's cold the tranny does bounce in 3rd but for about 2 miles then fine and most clunks happen when it's fully warmed up so it's either the gearbox fluid needs changing (3rd slip) and the snub mount warms up and gets softer or the clunk is related to changed oil viscosity at higher oil temp. Thanks for your help mate, great conversation 👌
@@bogathlorant I would bet the fluid is old. Anytime you have issues that go away once warmed up, the fluid is usually to blame. There is also an internal filter. Probably the most neglected thing on most cars besides power steering fluid. The ZF fluid is soooo expensive too! Main reason I have been waiting. I am about a month away from doing it. Fixing the cam girdle seals and the timing chain tensioners now, but some torx stripped on timing cover so the whole engine is coming out😖 Fluids though, still my bet👌🏼
@project arjun The upgraded silicone was a much bigger difference for all 4 vehicles I have put it on so far. Along with the transmission mount they do make a lot of difference 🤙🏼
