    Shown in under 14 minutes what an incredible genius he is. This piano improvise is amazing, and damn his voice, what a voice. One of the greatest musicians ever.

    That voice, Those lyrics, and the piano skills are a magical combination. How many artists do you know that can touch your sole with just their voice and one instrument. Not many.

    EJ is so funny and talents, such a masterful command of the genre and chords. He KNEW this is a jesty lyric and could use some funky tempo, but he purposefully made it melancholy.

    Interesting hearing Elton’s piano with a Kurzweil sound rather than his usual sound.
    Makes it seem like he got Billy Joel’s piano by mistake. 😂

      Sounds more like a Kurzweil piano sample to me... not his usual setup.

      But the black keys have more curved ends (one of his bespoke modifications) so I imagine it is his piano just a different sound set up

    if elton did vocal warmups he probably couldve gotten rid of that rasp when he hit higher notes. Sounds really good with lower notes still. And it's not like the concerts where he sings this song after singing for an hour straight.

      Sounds more like a Yamaha module plus a bit more of the actual acoustic sound. Guess it's all quieter than in concert so not such a feedback issue.

      In fact it might not be his piano - looks like a C7 not the 9ft Cfiiis. Plus the black keys didn't quite look as though they had been reshaped which they are on his touring pianos. Hence maybe the slightly different sound set up?

      His voice is still listenable. Changed a lot, yes. He's 72 now and still strong in Ballads. His deep matured baritone is amazingly strong. I think he still sounds great.
