    We highly recommend replacing both the touch screen and LCD screen. The two parts come fused together and it is very difficult to separate the two. Because of this, we only offer the combination screen (both touch screen and LCD).

    I really like the idea that u only used one tool on the unit. Other videos show using several tools that did not come with my replacement screen.....I was getting very frustrated with them....thank you so much. Now to give this a try.

  • @retiredsearge

    Tearing it apart is the easy part. Putting it back together is when the fun starts. Would be nice to know what adhesive to use for reassembly.

    • @conradyeadon8714
      @conradyeadon8714 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      cement usually works ;) no I'm kidding, it's best to buy 1mm by however many metres you want strong double sided sticky tape to use as an adhesive but the problem you then face is if it gets hot in your pocket the screen will fall out! I have some special double sided tape that is yellow in colour, it is unbelievably strong and heat resistant so you could look for some of that. Another thing that I prefer to use (usually on waterproof phones though) is gasket sealant/glue as it holds extremely well, can be applied very thinly, completely heat resistant and is also water and dust proof (it is difficult to use so only use it if you are brave, an expert or have practised a few times before). The problem with the heat resistant properties of adhesives when fixing a phone is that it makes it a tough job to replace again if the screen breaks once more so you need to be wise in which one you use. I hope that helps!

  • @Repairsuniverseusa

    Andrew, this varies from unit to unit. Just enough to soften the adhesive in order to help you remove it.

  • @Repairsuniverseusa

    Just like we said, "the repair can be done without cracking the screen".

  • @AppleValleyIndie

  • @Repairsuniverseusa
    @Repairsuniverseusa  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You probably could, we just suggest using a full screen assembly to prevent the possibility of damaging your LCD when you separate the two screens.

  • @Repairsuniverseusa
    @Repairsuniverseusa  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, you need to take off the layers to release the screen ribbon cables.

  • @MikeLeVanRealtor
    @MikeLeVanRealtor 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thanks, almost done. Now if I just don't break it putting it back together in the frame. I will say that you make it look much easier than it is. Not sure how much heat you are ok to use but I would suggest sitting the whole unit on a hot pad if you have one and letting it sit there for a half hour or so in order to really loosen up the adhesive. My bezel was pretty much fused to the screen so of course I finished shattering the glass and broke the bezel (midframe) getting it out. Fortunately my new screen came with a new midframe. Why did you not advise to go ahead and disconnect the other two wires connecting the mother board to the lower half of the case? Seems like it frees up more work area to get the two cables off and on the screen.

    Unfortunately replacing only the outer glass is very difficult. The touch screen and the LCD screen come fused together, and can usually only be separated by an extremely skilled technician. However, we do sell the combination screen (both touch screen and LCD) on our website.

    Hey buddy, replacing only the glass you need to use LOCA between glass and LCD in order to not loosing sensitivity between them (Do you know that?), also this take more time to do it. In addition, the quality will not be the same. Good luck
