Excellent alignment of the seconds hand! If only Seiko figured out a way to adjust that 24-hour subdial separately they would have a GMT killer on their hand.
In Speedtimer the seconds hand is spot on but the 6 o'clock hand is off and the date isn't centered in the window. Seiko's quality department is trying to keep up their track record by not letting a perfect watch out the door is my guess. 😁
Citizen have had that solar ring technology for a while. All of their J8xx movements have that tech. I have a AW5000 field watch with one and it performs very well. The rehaute looks quite nice actually. Thanks for covering the Seiko Mark!
Good vid. Got the panda dial more than a month ago & having a long honeymoon period with it! Quite a mesmerising thing to look at & the bracelet is surprisingly comfortable.
Got the LE last week and am still in the honeymoon phase...I actually like the bracelet with the "gun metal"-like center link. I also got a ton of compliments...the ice blue dial is one hell of an eye-catcher
Got one of these for my son for his 21 birthday. The gold one very nice kind of watch you never need to take off with the solar. Nice watch 100 meters rating so no worries

I really like these chrono from Seiko, but I think for the overall value and quality I would first look at the Islander Bethpage, or maybe an Arista Bauhaus chrono for a way better value. I happen to like the case on the Islander much, much better. Plus the Mecca-quartz movement seems a better choice too.
Marc, I agree with you on the beauty of the looks. But Seiko really needs to perfect their solar technology. I have seven Seiko Solar’s in my collection and every five years I have to change the capacitor (what Seiko calls the battery). I have a 12 year old G-Shock Tough Solar and have never had to change anything but the strap.
I wish the date window was perfectly centered in between the 4 and 5 o'clock indexes. Also only timing 60 minutes is a bit of a let down. Other than that, the panda dial looks great.
I have the white one and love the size, but can't get a proper fit on my 6.75" wrist. Looking for a better replacement bracelet that actually meshes better with the lugs.

Beautiful watches but not a chance on the price. Buy the Orient Neo Panda instead for same flavor. Still available and good color choices. Cost anywhere from 130-210. I have a nice selection of 600-1000 watches. Not once have I received a compliment. Throw on my less expensive ones, and people notice. Go figure
So far the only 2 comments I have gotten on any of my watches was my Kamasu by a fellow watch enthusiast and a Vostok Amphibia by someone random in an elevator, lol.
Is Neo Panda available in ice blue? If yes do suggest the reference number and from where it can be sourced. I have the green and champagne Neo Panda, and yes they r truly remarkable. I wish they have one in ice blue dial

Santa got me the ice blue, courtesy a work bonus. I have a couple Swiss autos, and I appreciate an accurate grab and go watch. There’s a place for everything.
I am not really a Seiko fan but I like these watches, they are very well done 👍 but I am not going to be buying one at that price point 😂. I would rather have an all metal GShock 2100 or Gshock Frogman (LE or regular) or even spend a bit more (retail) For the GShock MTG 3000 none the less at this price point you pretty much have to be a Seiko fan to get one IMHO
Marc no offence but these do not compare to your Island brand for quality and finish. Mass production has killed the quality of this brand at this price point. The inclusion of these in your shop only makes your other brands look so much better. Citizen is streets ahead in quality and value. Yes it's a Seiko commercial, you said it 😁
I think they are nice-looking watches and a nice size, but the price is too much for me and I have had two Seiko quartz chronograph watches, one was a mecha quartz and the other did 1/10 of a second weird quartz watch. They were each under 200 dollars. They had no solar or Saphire.
Still too rich for my blood especially when converted from USD to CAD. That said, glad to see you carrying them, and I'll keep crossing my fingers for a deep sale at some point in the next year or two.
It’s an ISL-79 - I have one :) I love it on a leather strap, but rarely do it, as the bracelet is such a pain in the a** to change :) The Speedtimer looks cool, but I think the price is a bit steep - even if it is solar.
I'm 100% with you on that black center link. Why, Seiko, why?!! The blue dial is just gorgeous, but that stripe just wrecks the look. I'd definitely put that on a strap immediately.
It sounds like there needs to be an islander stainless bracelet for this model😉 Maybe a presidential bracelet😉😉 Also, the blue one is my favorite for sure with the red accents.
I bought a Pagani design moon watch homage with the seiko vk63 mecaquarts movement on sale for $80 and it's great. Now Pagani design has no heritage, their quality control and customer service is a joke and there designs are someone else's hard work. They sponsor 0 sport or teams, they have no stores and if you have a warranty problem you have to send it back to China. So for $80 you get a watch and and that's about it. If you want more then just a watch, Marc at LIW and Seiko got you covered.

No, I actually don't. The different in quality between the two is laughable. Pagani has ZERO marketing budget, or near zero. They have absolutely no distribution system. No customer support for individual countries - unless you live in China. . . I do not think that's where their core customer is. So, you are missing alot of the truth, and deciding to bend it to your whims. They may "Build the watch" for the same money, sure, but you cannot compare them on a company level.

Is there a way to fix a misaligned “seconds hand” (the 9 o’clock sub dial)? Mine looks as if it ticks a hair past the actual marker
Just picked up a ‘Go Large’ version (41mm) in a sale and it’s a great daily, and I really like the brushed bracelet it’s on.

they are lovely watches, but I only pulled the trigger on one when I got it from an AD in the UK for £390 and I don’t regret it!
