"Stop Looking Down" | Learner Driver Takes Eyes Off Road

- In this video, Josh the learner driver learns about moving into third gear and clutch control at the lights. This is an important skill for all manual car drivers to learn, and it can be tricky at first, but with practice, it becomes second nature.
In the video, Pin explains the basics of gear changing and clutch control, and then Josh gets to practice in the car. He starts by practicing moving into third gear from first gear, and then he moves on to practicing clutch control at the lights.
This video is perfect for anyone who is learning to drive a manual car, or who wants to improve their gear changing and clutch control skills. It is also a useful refresher for anyone who has been driving for a while but wants to make sure they are using their clutch correctly.

It's now actually fun watching "driving mock tests" after PASSING FIRST TIME recently!!!
Lool samee! very exciting still
Yes I agree
congrats!
@tobotic109how long did it take you
Just don't be stupid like me and lose your license after a week. Got my test again in 4 days atleast
passed with 5 minors this morning. thank you so much for the videos!
Binge watched all your videos yesterday. And I acc ended up PASSING TODAY FIRST TIME!!!! Your videos helped alot since I did it in wolves test center route as well and my test just felt like I was in ur video.
I am deeply appreciative for all the content and I hope you keep enlightening learners with your passion for driving in the coming future 🙏 ❤️ 🎉
I'll keep coming back to these mock test videos in a few years time to remind me of the great time spent stressing about my test the whole time lmao
Im so glad this DGN Driving channel exists this is great tutorial for new drivers and even experienced one to kinda see other people techniques and capabilities.
Thank you for your videos, I only started learning to drive last month and I've been terrified. Your videos have really helped me on what to expect on the roads and how to be as safe as possible. Much appreciated 👍.
I've learned from your videos and have started to use the techniques in my driving :)
Passed my test today, your videos have been very very helpful. Thanks Pin
Thank you so so much Pin, passed my driving test today! And your videos definitely helped! Thanks again
passed my test back in September! still watching these because they're a good source of keeping good knowledge and they're honestly entertaining! aha 😄
I passed a month ago, now I watch these for fun 😂
Even years later the novelty doesn’t really wear off
Just passed today now it really fun to watch those videos😂
Passed in August and went from Bradford to Birmingham and back in storm Debbie. Needless to say I'm pretty proud of myself. It's true what everyone says...you learn more after you've passed than you do in lessons.
Have been watching your videos the past couple weeks, passed today first try with 2 minors 😁😁
he did very well and im very impressed, my cousin will be doing his driving and me and him have been going through these videos.
Thank you for watching the channel. If you are a little head of Josh then check out Raajan's lessons. There is a playlist for it
Where you look really affects where you steer and go towards. I had this the other day on my lesson at a roundabout, my first time learning the big ones.
It was very busy and I was just rolling up slowly to see if there was a gap to go and I kept my eyes on the right a bit too long and didn’t quite steer up to the line right and bumped up onto the curb. I quickly fixed it and came off and stopped, and then carried on but it was quite scary.
It's called target fixation. But the more you practice the more it will not affect you.
As in the end of the day you have to look and scan for danger.
I had that problem on roundabouts where I look for incoming cyclists and then almost hit the side
Today I passed my exam. Thank you very much for helping us.
Congratsss
sometimes i wish i knew this fella for my lessons hes amazing
He's terrible
God my first driving lesson in the rail was so miserable, it just made me panic and forget everything, best of luck Josh :)
Same
Passed today with only 2 minors and your videos were really helpful.
Thanks for the vids, just starting my lessons had 2 so far and they help :) my biggest issue is positioning the car, its hard to understand how big the car really is so im usually too close to left or right any tips?
this video is what i had to do in my 2nd lesson and the rain 0_0 was very scary but managed! vehicle positioning is super hard for me still tho no issues with stalling or gear changes :)
All practice my brother
Imagine that your left leg should be in the middle of the road (I think there are also videos on it) helps me☺️
Passed 2 Days ago, off to get my first car right now i'm so excited lmao, Appreciate all the videos bro 😊
Well done.
What car are you planning to buy ?
@@shivadow I'll answer before he asks. Put a named driver on your insurance it will drastically reduce the cost. And if you're 17-20 you probably want a VW but don't
Congratulations I have my test next week
@@eyybabyj1397 may I ask why? And what would be your recommendations for beginner cars? Because I just started saving up money since I am working full time now and probably want a car later if I have to work in different cities
Pin I would like the camera back on the speedo it just makes the video fun to watch please mat
If he's struggling with 2nd to 3rd, in my lessons, I always went 2nd, tap it into neutral(obviously not bringing up clutch) then straight up, rather than 1 full swoop.
That's how my instructor taught me how to shift into 3 and 4
Same
This guy teaches it all wrong
Soon I can take my novice driver sticker and I always watch your videos to make sure I don't do so many stupid mistakes
Love video
You’re lucky to have such calm instructors in the uk,in Albania u might even get slapped behind yo neck for releasing the clutch to early 😂
We need to see how Josh is getting on Pin 😊
11:32 " how u r feeling..?".. " Im confident.." Pin : confident? 😱
that was funny😂😂😂.
31:14 that chameleon tint 🔥🔥🔥
I passed this week my second attempt. 😂😂 Best feeling ever.
Manual or automatic?
@@seethusingh7929 I passed with a manual, but i've ordered an automatic.
@@celticsean5733 Automatic is so much better not having to shift back to 2 for every turn is nice
Wheres he gone?
hi DGN I just passed my driving test now ❤
Hii @dgn driving my driving test is in 6 days. Any tipsssssss?
What a bongaa Josh is😂😂😂
When in second gear , push into neutral and then push up to get into third gear
Just done my second lesson and my nerves are through the roof, my instructor says I can drive, but my nerves are getting the better of me and I’m better than what I think I am…I also look at the gears as changing them 😏 he must have faith in me as he made me drive home 😮 7 miles!! I just about 💩 myself, but we made it 😂😂😂
How come it’s been a month since last lesson upload?
He probably gave up lmaoo
I want to do my driving lessons in a mitsubishi l200 or a fiat 500
hello
Failed driving test today Automatic. I am depressed.
what made you fail?
Dont consider it a fail but a learning curve and whatever areas you were marked seriously on, would be something to work on ready for when you decide its time to take your test again. I passed on 3rd attempt
Thank you 😊. My examiner was making faces,When I was doing mistakes.
I had an automatic test on the same day as you and I also failed LOL, hopefully we both get it next time :)
Sounds like he needs gears and revs explained to him the fact he asked which gear he should be in, and the fact he thinks he should be rushing to a particular gear rather than driving to what the car wants.
he needs to learn alot
he doesnt look both ways which is really bad.
yeah. also he just keeps a straight face. not aware of his surroundings. @@johnniewalker3134
around 9:30, do you teach this to beginners or all the way through learning to drive? this is very weird and damaging behaviour to hold the car at bite like that at a red light
I agree with you. Burns the clutch, my instructor recommended me to be in 1st gear and clutch fully down when waiting at front of the que. Been driving for 7 years, so I didn't take his advice. I put the gear in neutral and come off the clutch. When both red and amber lights come on, I depress the clutch and put it in first gear and rev upto 1000 or 1500-2000 RPM, when the green light comes on, I hold the clutch at the biting point and the car moves.
No worrying about stalling.
@@raulerrman.5401 This is exactly the right way to do it! obviously people don't have to be this perfect about it (with putting it into neutral), but I do exactly what you do and it causes me no problems at all either. I also don't take my car for a monthly clutch like I imagine Pin does lol
yh this is the way. Keeping it at the biting point all that time is wild lol @@raulerrman.5401
@ElderlyAnteater It's a bit chill to wait at the traffic lights in neutral rather than tiring out the left leg till it shivers 😆 lol.
I think they just do it so the learner can get used to being able to move off quickly from a traffic light so they don't panic and rush. Gets them used to the clutch. My instructor encouraged me to put the car in neutral and take my foot off the clutch the more confident I got.
I think he needs to listen more than he talks...
The squeaky sound when he's doing the pedals is really going through me.
You are incorrect about crossings. You have to give way to people on the crossing. There is nothing in the law about waiting until people are completely off the crossing. This makes no sense especially for very long crossings.
Gw
Needs to learn to rest his foot and not hover the clutch also brake first before clutch
Ifififduididdieii
Looking down and not focusing on the road? He's only practicing for his phone use behind the wheel.
But is he learning or doing a test? 🙄
what do you think? He clearly said " A general drive around "
He is not aware of what is around him always parks up to the kurb when there is a parked car on the other side of the road
He has all the answers but doesn’t apply them
Learner talking too much
This student is Mr no personality
His steering is crap
This guy likes to lie and bs, the young today can't take criticism, and whe they make a mistake they make an exscuse, they need to listen to those who know better, and remember they k ow ext to nothing.
Yeah passed a week ago still watching this channel it helps
