I guess I can't understand why I hear this song and I just hear a BAND-MAID song with a touch of Incubus. Then there are those that think everytime they do something a bit different, they may never come back to their old style! You have to listen to new songs for them to become old familiars. The old songs were new songs at one point.
People should know by now that they can wander out to other sounds but they never forget who they are! On a side note, how gorgeous does Kanami look in this video?
Well, that kind of hysterical reaction tends to be softer. I remember perfectly when they dropped Start over, it seemed like the end of the World was coming.
I still continue to love Band-Maid and I find this a great opportunity to get new inspirations. This song sounded better live as always and Saiki held that 8-bar note perfectly. I enjoyed it. I'll say one thing though = Japanese don't really push their opinions when working with their seniors/famous international artists/Western producer for some reason. It's always been like this way. That being said, it still has Band-Maid flavour.
So, is it just me or has not being in their normal outfits put a whole new spin on this song??? I wasn't a massive fan when I first heard it but, I can't stop watching it now.
I am 76 old Japanese man again. As I said in another part, I started listening music with old American country rock "Crosby, Stills Nash & Young (LP title "Deja Vu")" at my age of 14 or 15 . so this new song remind me of nostolagic and good olddays American folk(country) rock, so I checked immediately INCUBUS songs and sound. That was great and also cool. I felt also nostalgic feeling listening INCUBUS. There was similar music in good old days American folk(country) rock, such as Buffalo Spring Fieald(Neil Young), Carol King"Tapestry("You've got a friend")", Neil Young"OHIO"and so on. Any way, Bandmaid and Incubus are both so talented. I started listening music with old American country rock "Crosby, Stills Nash & Young (LP title "Deja Vu")". Rock !
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Saiki’s priestess cut looks great. I love it when they slow down the tempo. They look and play like angels on a mission.
outstanding new video for a beautiful song. the visuals were awesome. not just their outfits but the whole setting, beautiful tree and chairs with their equipment mixed in. the hairstyles, just everything magical. loved every second of it. it's just so short! lol. beautiful song.
Could this be the summer outfit for Band-Maid. I vote for it!!! Saiki and her new haircut is just divine. Kanami with the pony tail and lacework shoulder wings is hyper cute. The white Band-Maid is a team made in heaven.
Really digging the song and the subtle change in wardrobe attire. The theme and lyrics definitely pull on the heart strings. Such a wonderful group of musicians, Band Maid always delivers.🤘
We listen their songs untill those become to be a part of our heart. We don't miss even single note from them. And each song eases our heart from inside. Because they are singing for us always. (except for Hate?)
I like that I can now differentiate between Miku and Kanami's guitar parts. Yes, the set looked very much like the last acoustic Okyu-ji set - you can see the 'table' and the floor lamp in the back ground. Kanami "Out - Gapped" Miku this time!
Band Maiden!. Great look! They have enough brand recognition that they don't need Maid outfits anymore. Love the video, love the song, love the reaction. Rock on 🤘
Exactly…whatever they want to do is great with me!! They’ve earned the right to do whatever the heck they want to do, imho. Love the song and video. Are they purposely trying something to maybe get more popular - probably - and I’m perfectly fine with that. Go for it! Will never affect how I feel about them. 👏🏼🎸🥁🎤🎹🎼😎✌🏼
I think that you may be right. World Domination may not come in the form that we know right now. I want the best for the band even at the expense of some unhappy fans.
Lots of talk about the "new" look. They have gone thru many versions of outfits. This certainly was in step with the art direction of this MV. First MV where I felt there was a master stylist working with the art director.
MISA's playing and bass tone are setting new standards... and Akane's drumming is so in-the-pocket and distinguishable... and Kanami's solo is Daydreaming masterful! The recording and mix are as enjoyable as the song. Miku and Saiki's lyrics are heartfelt. "I can't look into your eyes." Is Band-Maid a band of fashion-forward, trend-setting Besties? 💞Thx, Mikey & Band-Maid!
As usual they do a great job and there are parts of this song I like quite a bit but overall it's just not the kind of music that gets to me. Heresy, I know, but I will always support Band Maid and if this is available commercially I'll buy it too. Kanami's solo is excellent. I'll keep listening to it to see if it grows on me any more, when I first heard it I couldn't even listen to the end. I'll keep trying.
Another AWESOME reaction Master Ryan Mear. I think everyone had the same reaction when the song started and showed the group in white. From the tight shot on Mincho to start, my mind was already going a thousand miles and hour..."no Maid battle armor"? Then...Angels...😍 It does look like the set from their acoustic show. As for the song...loved it the first time I heard it. And love it more as I watch it more. IMHO, I think it's a great "radio friendly" song which can be enjoyed by the masses who know nothing about Band-Maid or their hard rock style. Just my 2 yen thoughts...take it for what it's worth. Which seem to be worth less and less these days...🤣 PO! 🕊 WORLD DOMINATION!!! 🤘😆🤘 Your signed t-shirt fan from HI.
Hey Ryan 🤘 "wow" that was also my impression in the first seconds. First seconds ? No, during the whole video. While the song is not my bestie 🤪 i was blown away by the visuals and the fact that our ladies (they are really no maids anymore 😉) finally found the courage to present an original (rock)song without their maid outfits. Is this the future ? I'm all in for sure 🤘🍻

I was afraid that the new song is not as good as the old stuff from Band Maid. And yes, Bestie is a pop song, no hard rock and no typical Band Maid complexity. They do that now and then ... and I like that. Nevertheless, it needs some time to creep into my ears but now its an ear worm ;-D Same with this video ... but this one is great: The opening guitar intro from Kanami was fantastic! I am not sure if I like their dress style (IMHO too old fashioned) but their hair style make them even more cute. You cannot "optimize" Miku and Misa ... but I very much like the new look of Saiki, Kanami and Akane. Please keep it that way! Love it. This was great and is on may playlist! Next song will hopefully more hard rock: You can see that all but Saiki are looking bored 🤣🤣 Po! 🕊
Saiki didn't look bored when she was performing this live. She delivered it beautifully. The thing I don't like about this song is that it's a bit cut-and-pastey for Band-Maid apart from mid instrumental breakdown. I like intro/outro guitar riff and his it ended though.
Mike is not a feature in thia song he participated in the writing part. The song at least whould have been featured by Mike. I guess it wouldn't make sense unless it says featured by Incubus. 🤷🏻♂️
@@lurkmerchantmost definitely , Mike is the main writer of their songs. My comment was regarding Ryan saying Mike is not in the video. For that to happen usually the featured is mentioned in the tittle.
To be honest I really miss their old songs. Not really a fan Saki's rapping like segment but I'm a fan when she does accoustic songs. The song still good on my book it just that, I miss their old style, old iconic outfits, where I can sing along with their old songs that's what I'm trying to say.
@@RyanMearI have followed Japanese music for many years, this new song by BM is not what has characterized their music, something new and a Japanese style, it is more the music in English, which is very monotonous, but if they like it, that's fine, but for me I don't like it.

The worst thing about this song is that when I try to listen to it,I get attacked by onion ninjas who always go after the eyes…the lil bastards.
Beautiful, angelic!!!!! If this is what heaven looks and sounds like, I'm going to have to be a lot nicer!!!!!!
Band Maid turn to Band angels ❤

The words that come to me are elegance and beauty. What a wonderful way of surprising these girls have. Always Band Maid....❤
I'm not saying this as a pun by any means, but my face melts as I recall the vibes of Pretty Maids' “Walk Away”
