At this point I am starting to lean towards an early October reveal. They probably want to focus their marketing right now on Echoes of Wisdom as well as avoid clashing with TGS

Nintendo owes nobody an early reveal, not even you. That thing won't get revealed until closer to release, which is next year. If the system is being released sometime near March? Why would nintendo reveal it now? Especially with echos of the kingdom and other games about to get released? Makes no sense.

I just really want the Switch 2 to just be revealed already so that way I can escape the world of pure-speculation and just beware of what details are actually correct for Nintendo's official Switch 2 system! If it doesn't get revealed before October 31/2024, I'm gonna go crazy!
I once thought an October reveal was impossible, but echoes of wisdom marketing still hasn’t started. This makes me think that the games Nintendo is releasing this year will have short marketing campaigns, which puts early October as a real possibility.
Marketing hasn't started? There's been multiple trailers, multiple post, multiple commercials, previews have been dropping. All of this has been going on for the past two months

It's important to note that the year is not over yet, I think people would be better off just not focusing on it for the moment cause that just makes waiting harder. I've got plenty of other things to occupy my time while we wait for Nintendo's big announcement. It is definetly coming soon I can be confident in that much, you can practically smell the build up happening.

My gut still says we will get at least a trailer dropped by Wednesday with a confirmation of backward compatibility (that way it won’t interfere holiday software sales or Echoes of Wisdom). That will help partners to start talking about and revealing their Switch 2 work during TGS and The Game Awards, not just The Game Awards. It will also help Nintendo take back control over the narrative, because as more leaks happen, the only thing Nintendo can fully control is the context. They drop a first look trailer before TGS, they give context to what is currently leaked. If it is part of the traditional September Direct, they can start filling out a bit of the 2025 calendar since we currently don’t have any first party releases scheduled beyond January. Especially if Switch 2 isn’t launching until Q1 FY2026 (April-June 2025). Nintendo might be willing to sacrifice February if Switch 2 is launching March, because a ton of stuff to monetize would drop the following month. But what’s the likelihood that they would sacrifice 2-5 months of first party releases (longer if Switch 2 isn’t a first half of calendar year 2025 release)?
If they drop the trailer pre-TGS, they give context to the leaks. But if they follow it up with a first look event in October, they retake control of the narrative. Since there’s a rumored Pokemon Legends Z-A event for October and Black Ops 6 and Assassin’s Creed Shadows are launching in October for other platforms, there could be three focuses for an October event. 1) If backward compatibility is revealed in a first look trailer, the rumored enhanced backward compatibility where strategic titles will get graphics and gameplay patches to take full advantage of Switch 2’s new power and features (my guess would be BotW, TotK, and the Xenoblade Chronicles games that are currently out as showcases to pack the most punch). 2) Cross gen releases where we get more info about Pokemon Legends Z-A and Metroid Prime 4. Maybe also a first look at the rumored cross-gen Xenoblade Chronicles X remaster/remake. 3) A return of Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed to Nintendo.
That will control the narrative enough that Nintendo wouldn’t need to do anything else major for Switch 2 until January where we get a blowout that we get the full rundown from release date of everything shown so far, full launch slate for the first 6 months, preorders opening the following day, trade-in/trade-up deals, etc.
I was expecting October 24th since it was announced that they will be making an announcement but after what happened in August and no direct in September i am thinking maybe sooner but I 100% believe it will be announced b4 TGA i feel like Nintendo will want to use world premieres to push new software sells
I've purposefully been avoiding looking at the leaks because I don't want to get spoiled just in case they're right, but my number 1 dream feature for the Switch 2 would be Twitch integration like the PS4 has, mainly so I don't have to shell out extra money for a capture card.

Nintendo revealed Switch 1 on the 20th of October, this was a Friday, I wouldn't be shocked if they revealed the next system is revealed on the 18th of October this year.

@@diegomedina9637 I'm seriously confused by this. The last time up until a month ago that I saw Switch 2 rumors in my feed was back in 2022, when the OLED *did* actually end up launching. I think for it to be on this scale again, we actually are going to see something soon, we're just stumbling on the exact details which will be shown when it's revealed
I'm Nintendo fan but not their IP excluding Fire Emblem. I love hybrid form of Switch and I'm jrpg player. This is why we need new hardware right now. There are a lot of games that are out of current model power range - like Presona 3 Reload, Methapore and more.
Just becareful with the hot chip challenge. If you have indigestion, heart burn, it can make you really sick. I got one for my husband one Christmas and it made him really sick. Not trying to scare you, but just wanted to give you a heads up. And may I note, my husband eats lots of spicy foods.
An educated guess is normally based on past experience, which currently hasn't been panning out. NOA,NOE are just marketing arms they have no say in when any announcements are made.

I'm still on team 2025 for a switch 2 reveal. An October switch 2 reveal is possible this calendar year. But I still doubt the switch 2 will launch March 2025. I still believe the switch 2 will launch after March 2025.

With Switch having such a strong release title in Breath of the Wild I am hoping that they have just as strong of a new title with it. If it's this year I'd want to know what it is soon. If 2025 my guess was Pokemon Z-A.

Im stoked for the next mario party, but I have not cared for any zelda game ever. I like games like mario kart, mario party, new super mario bros, mario 3d, and other mario platformer games, but not much beyond that in terms of nintendo games.

Here's how I see it:
1) Nintendo might have wanted to reveal the Switch 2 earlier this year, and then Microsoft made their big announcement of new games that will be on the XBox GamePass.
2) And then, Sony tried to make video gamers excited with the PS5 Pro.
3) We have the next Zelda game coming out this week. I don't think Nintendo wants to take the spotlight away from this Zelda game.
4) And then there are the rumors of the new Switch Bundles for the winter holiday shopping season. I won't be surprised if Nintendo announces these new Switch Bundles, before announcing the Switch 2.
I would guess that Nintendo will not announce the Switch until sometime in December. October would be cool, but that might impact on Nintendo's Black Friday sales.
