Bro same exact bike, first trail bike and I was new so the worker suggested the size I got (I think L) and I said "I can't even touch the ground" he was like yeah dunny
Thanks for the great video 👍😎. It's straight forward and to the point ✒. I had issues with the saddle being to low. Following your video, I heighten the saddle and now I'm very comfortable riding. Thanks 👍😎
The only bad thing is that for city riding its better to have more of the feet in contact with the ground. Really helps to minimize injuries if fall for any reason (except being hit).
I adjusted my saddle and i go faster and more comfortable on my new trek fx3. But i have i bit of an annoying creak coming from the seat post now - how do i fix that?
@@trekbikes hi i didn't have any grease as i am new to cycling. I took it into my local Trek dealer and they couldn't solve the issue. So I left the bike with them to identify the sound and they found something wrong with the rear wheel and replaced it under warranty. Bike is barely 2 months old and surprised something went wrong already considering I keep this bike in mint condition.
I did it but when i went outside to try my bicycle i went as fast as i could and i could'nt belive it i go faster then before but when i tried to turn i lost control and i hit the neighbours car and broke the back lights and felt on my shoulder and now it hurts me as hell Thanks any way Forgive me for my english its not my firts language
.... so this is only applicable if you have all those specialized tools .... what about just the everyday person, who doesn't have all those tools what do they do? Lol
Hex keys are not specialized tools. Most ikea furniture comes with a 4mm hex key. You most likely have one laying around in a drawer somewhere. Torque wrenches are a little less common but still a really cheap easy to find hand tool.
I don't feel comfortable if I can't put my feet flat on the ground I don't feel safe sitting that high can only touch tippy toes That's ridiculous and unsafe.
Probably one of the shortest but most comprehensive videos on the subject. I feel confident doing this myself now. Thank you!!!
This is the least technical video about this topic I’ve watched on TH-cam, however I’ve found it’s the most useful haha
Just got my new Marlin 6, and this video is really helpful for perfect seat adjustment!

This video is so informative 👏 👌 🙌
So useful, I got a bike yesterday and never ever have I ride a bike. At 37. So happy right now
Go, my man!

Thanks for the help. My saddle height was too low and my thighs were f***ed up

Yeah, I would rather be able to fully touch the ground when stopped.
Same.
I just got my new Trek FX-4 and this video helped tremendously.
Shortest and best explanation +1

Very informative n useful tips for bike newbies like me. Thank you.
Is there a video on how to adjust the seat angle/tilt?
Just make it level
So if that is all there is to it why is it adjustable?
My bike is probably a good height but I can’t really touch the ground unless I go very high on my toes
better than most instructor thank you
Can someone help me the bike I got doesn’t have any bolt to tighten where the seat post goes to the bike so I can’t tighten it
hi there quick question. If i raise my saddle higher, do I have to raise my handlebar as well? I just recently gotten a 2022 Trek FX 2 Disc.
Did yours come with the saddle key
@@aubriaubbie848 no
My only concern is will the seatpost pierce through the saddle one day and bugger me?
You need help bro

How to get off the bike if only my heels touch the ground? Do I have to lean on one side?
dont know man, prefer lower in case the stupid bike slips, at least the foot has proper footing when it happens
What about the pitch of the seat?
I’m 5’10” What size should I get?
What an excellent video
I have a marlin 6 and the seat won’t go down , do I need to cut the metal a lil bit ?
Yes
Which Trek FX model is this?
2020 FX2
Agree one more the size of your bike in accordance with your height
I adjusted my saddle and i go faster and more comfortable on my new trek fx3. But i have i bit of an annoying creak coming from the seat post now - how do i fix that?
If you have a creak coming from your seatpost, try removing the post and applying assembly grease to the seat tube!

Either im too tall or bike to short. Seat at max height my legs are still bent at bottom.
I am short (5'2") and thats literally lets me either paddle properly or reach the ground while sitting... need help
Awesome cases definitely going to buy it

Lmao bruh
When is the new fuel ex coming out
My wrist hurt when i ride on the dualsport 2. I think i need to play with the saddle height a little more? Do gloves help with the wrists?
Yes, gloves can help absorb vibrations and in return help the wrists
What if the seat is too high, but won't go any lower? I have a Marlin 4. Do you recommend cutting the post?
You can cut standard seatposts if the saddle needs to go lower than what the post allows!
@@trekbikes your trek bicycle has a stoppage in the seat post area

back-pedaling with heels on pedals? I think it's the easiest method
How do you adjust the angle of the seat?
just make it perfectly level and make small adjustments based on your comfort while riding.
Actually I am comfy when my feet are flat against the ground.
Great video. Thanks.
Thanks man 👌🏻
Thanks
DS???👍👍😎 Good stuff!!
How much?
It's a pain in the ass when you're missing the tools to adjust it lol
Is suppose to have tools?

no fore and aft? 🤷
GET A DROPPER FOLKS
A dropper on a FX bike would be something else haha
Casey Sanders hahah your correct
dropper post is one of the best new inventions on bikes. I got it few months back and I love it.

But I'm short 😐

You are supposed to slide yourself forward off the seat when stopped. Practice doing that until you feel comfortable.
Then you shouldn’t be riding a bike
Ride motorcycles instead. You're safe when you stop, but a lot more dangerous when riding 😂
Da fuq
This is useless, the seat is still stuck
