Outstanding video. How many of us have these beautiful scenes burned in our memories? Wonderful to see so many people appreciate this iconic film. It was EVERYTHING to me as a child and has stayed with me for almost 60 years now.
Thanks and yes, very emotional and uplifting for us too to go to these locations. We wish we could go to all the rest of the locations but ran out of time.
Well researched and made painstakingly with so much passion..It really is worth watching again and again..Wish someday I could go and visit these locales..Just being there would be like magic..And maybe The Captain Maria and the children may suddenly appear.. what an idea.. the movie lives on and on in our hearts.. and has given rise to such a beautiful video indeed.
I really enjoyed that you not only showed us the sights but also the joy you experienced with your family visiting, makes it that much more personal and heartwarming. Im from Salzburg and i always love the light in peoples eyes when they visit my home, thanks for reminding me that this place really is heaven on earth!
I certainly feel like our place is a paradise and I have to learn to accept it not everybody live in such a wonderful place and that so many awful things are happening to the poor people in Ukraine who did nothing to deserve what is happening to them just a moment I got through with my day at work at the food pantry and it was a hard day we had a friend that volunteered their have a narcissistic collapse and their band now for 6 months for this person who has issues of abandonment who has squatted on my property these people who have narcissism are constantly forever unless they seek treatment miserable and that hurts my heart to see this happen to people I believe there's a part of the Divine in each of us and when I am invited to be upset by a person who enjoys the negative attention as well as the positive I choose to set boundaries everything in nature goes towards what's good to it and away from what's bad to it so I do the thing I can do and don't give into provocation we are meant to work together like two hands the feet the rose of the upper and lower teeth eyelids to work against one another is against nature
We had a wonderful time. Just wish we could visit some of the other locations where they shot some of the iconic scenes but ran out of time. Hope to go back again.
thank you so much for making this video. you're so lucky to have gone on your own tour of sound of music movie locations, and just right before the pandemic striked. hoping to do a similar tour myself
I love the sound of music it is my favorite movie and musical I love all the songs especially my favorite things and do re mi and the lonely goatherd all songs are awesome I could watch it over and over again
Thank you for sharing your video! How wonderful it is to see these sights! It looks like you had great fun! The Sound of Music is one of my Favorite Things!!!!!
Thanks for your comment. And yes, we had a lot of fun visiting each location. Unfortunately, couldn't see all of them since we just had two days. Will love to go back again sometime to do the rest.
What a great video of you to recreate the scenes of a great movie. I was there yesterday but did not go all the places. Thank you for sharing your great video.
This was such an incredible video so heart warming for me to see! You couldn't have done a better job! I am 16 years old and the sound of music and Mery Poppins are my two favourite movies ever! I prefer to stay away from all the modern nonsense unlike most others and I just appreciate the good old days! Hopefully if I can get a job one day I will be able to visit all theses locations as well😊
Glad you liked it. Salzburg is such a wonderful place to visit. I sure hope you get to visit there sometime and experience these locations for yourself. Wishing you all the best.
Thank U for this sharing!🥰 Dream dreams that i will be seeing this too n the near future & meeting Ms.Julie Andrews.. ( n person, Wow) in this lifetime! Pls Lord!🥰🥰🥰
You'll note the goof at 1:31 where Maria appears to trip. Julie Andrews actually did trip. That wasn't scripted at all but Robert Wise the director decided to use that shot because he felt it really captured the essence of the song in that she slipped but she had the "confidence" to keep going.
If you’re wondering how do you get to the Meadow where Julie did the opening scene well I hate to disappoint but that is on private property and is closed to the public and is in Germany just outside of Salzburg
Here's the location of the Frohnburg Castle. maps.app.goo.gl/j77LVHPwdPLBwz2P6 In the movie, Julie Andrews approaches it from the south side and enters the compound through the gates to her right. Note that they don't allow cars on this portion of the street so if you plan to visit you'll have to park nearby and walk.
Hi just wondering did u join a tour for this? Or did u just do it by yourselves? Sept 21 i was in Helsinki and sep 22 i went to Stockholm. Hopefully we can do this too in the future

Una experiencia maravillosa reflejada en un gran video!!
Nice work fellows! Daniel from Rio de Janeiro.
My mom took me to see Mary Poppins.
Julie Andrews is the 1st woman I had a crush on.
If you’re wondering how do you get to the Meadow where Julie did the opening scene well I hate to disappoint but that is on private property and is closed to the public and is in Germany just outside of Salzburg
What direction is Julie Andrews singing and dancing, going to the tall gate of Fronburg?
Here's the location of the Frohnburg Castle. maps.app.goo.gl/j77LVHPwdPLBwz2P6
In the movie, Julie Andrews approaches it from the south side and enters the compound through the gates to her right.

6:26 It's crazy the set dressers had to remove all those pews and reset them after the shot of the nuns' grille. That's a ton of work!
Yes, that is absolutely correct. We were really surprised to see that in reality there are no grills inside that church.
Hi just wondering did u join a tour for this? Or did u just do it by yourselves? Sept 21 i was in Helsinki and sep 22 i went to Stockholm. Hopefully we can do this too in the future
We did this by ourselves so that we could spend more time at each place. The tours are good but they are in a rush to complete their daily itinerary.
