Weird! Designers have´t realised the simplest of thing. When you are driving the F1 car in real life, the center post of the Halo do not appear sharp and opaque. Your eyes are focused obviously beyond the center pole of the Halo, so it will appear off focus and transparent. You can easily demonstrate it your self, put your hand sideways before your eyes, and look beyond it.
This player has the halo column turned off, I don’t blame him either. In F1 2020, because the halo is virtual you do not get that transparency you mentioned, so in cockpit view, the halo seems huge and very obstructive.
@@samsalter8819 "so in cockpit view, the halo seems huge and very obstructive" Do you think that game developers are unable to code it semi transparent and slightly blurry, as it appears in real life? I think they are just too lazy to do it, for some reason.

I agree with that! The whole purpose of it is to simulate an F1 experience as much as possible, and driving using the Cockpit cam is way more difficult than the T Cam!
@@matejburian3191 I did a 1:47 time in cockpit view and turned around and did a 1:39 in T-cam on a new track I downloaded, because I could see the braking points and apex waaaay before I got to them. Go to my channel and see how much I struggle in cockpit view and how I made overtaking the AI look easy in T-cam
If you have 3 monitors, yes, cockpit, if not, TCam is better. Cockpit with just the forward view cuts off peripheral vision and is VERY unrealistic to F1 driving. It is critical you know what is happening next to you, not just whats directly in front and behind you.
the reason I dont think that cockpit cam should be mandotory is because you need a bigger monitor setup for it if you wanna see more One of the important aspects of F1Esport is to sell fanatec products therefore they drive on the csl formula wheelbase and small monitors in the f1esports championship... I think this game isnt suited for that... If the game would be assetto corsa or Iracing than Id say yes absolutely use cockpit cam only. But considering that the game is a simcade has a difficult balance between being a sim and an arcade game its difficult to do that... I think that most drivers use tcam because its a neccesity and not a reality thing... F1 game has too many badly made corners and handeling characteristics for wheel users... The game is defenietly suited more for everyone pad players as well therefore it cant be a more realistic sim... I think we need what you said and mentioned but in a seperate game a more Formula simulation type game like ACC but for formula cars...
I think cockpit cam is not realistic, because the driver has two eyes, but in cockpit cam we see the image from one point, like a driver with one eye, but I agree you, because cockpit cam is far more realistic as the TV pod cam. The advantage of using TV cam is that we can see track limits and other car's positions.
Well reality is that cockpit view is hard. That's why actual F1 driving is much harder than putting im some laps with TV cam too. I think both have a place, because you could always argue that you e.g. shouldn't have arrows to the left and right if someone is there or no view heind you.
it's not hard, i haven't even tested TV-pod, only when in the pit lane to see the damn green light when to release the clutch. I puke when driving a car "simulator" in third person.
Idea is good only in theory. You don't take into account all aspects of playing with cocpit view vs what real F1 drivers can see. As long as esport drivers play on 1 monitor instead of 3 or without VR you can't say that cocpit view is "simulation" or something similar to what real F1 drivers can see because you can't see distance to corners and apexs. It is huge disadvantage compare to T-cam, where it is easier to see distance to corners etc.
I disagree. Cocpit view doesn't simulate real life experience, because in real life you can move your head, you have micro eye movement that expend your FOV. This help driver to control the track but in the game without eye tracker or VR, you got nothing to simulate this. You see only things in front of you and cannot track the track with your eye, what is necessarily in real life driving. This is why using T-cam POV is more realistic in game, because only this POV gives you realistic field of view.
technically there is a headtracking function in the game that allows you to move your head in cockpit view like in real life if you have the expensive and complicated setup necessary for it, which most if not all of the pros have/are able to have
I know it's more realistic, but for video purposes I like the reduced halo because the halo blocks cars that are right in front of me sometimes. I don't think it's much of a difference otherwise.
@@ArthurRJ-Racing It is actually nit more realistic.Because drivers focis straight ahead, they don't see the bar. It's like putting a finger between your eyes.

Serious f1 2020 players should use the halo in the cockpit

In real f1 you can move your head slightly to both sides which can move perspective of halo bar. In game you can't so i understand why no halo.

When I drive in the cockpit view I don’t notice the bar from the halo my eyes just go around it
thats not how a screen works
