I can’t believe you aren’t TH-cam famous. Your storytelling and documentary skills are so good. I love everything about your videos, the visual grammar the social analysis….. I think you are about to blow up.
Agree iv’e been going for 20 years this is one of the best videos i’ve seen about it . Remarkably no footage of the man burn which was great! What a difference when an actual media person films and edits . Best meeme ever “ don’t dress up dress out”
I discovered your video while searching for Burning Man content, and I'm blown away! Your storytelling and editing are exceptional, setting you apart from other BM videos. The production quality is so professional that I initially thought this was a commercial or a popular channel with millions of views. I was surprised to see your modest subscriber count - it's clear you're seriously underrated. Your talent deserves more recognition. Keep up the fantastic work; I'm excited to see more from you two! Congrats - really!
@@GertStalpaert gosh thank you so much! Haha honestly we laugh about it at this point (369 subscribers at the moment). We just determined that we’re going to keep making videos no matter what, and that’s that. I’m so glad you enjoyed this video! That means the most to us. 🩵
What an incredible summary of what this experience is! I have tried to explain to people what burning man is... But it's so hard to explain the unexplainable. You have done such a exceptional job of doing this. I will be sharing your story with everyone who has expressed curiosity in Burning man, and with people who haven't! Thank you for this gift ❤
thank you thank you thank you!! That's exactly what we try to accomplish with this video, because Burning Man couldn't be more different than what we imagined it to be, and we were eager to share this feeling with everyone who is curious. Yay share away please! 🥰
i lived in reno for a year and no one told a burning man story like this. everyone i talked to about it (im from canada, didnt even know this was a thing til i moved there) and the majority hate on it so bad! especially about the trash or things people leave behind/ around the bigger nevada cities after the fact. knowing of the principles and seriousness of it from actual burners who enjoyed their experience - beautiful. amazing video and story telling!! im gonna show your series of burning man to anyone who ever asks about it going forward. even made me have an urge to try and i never thought i'd want to. love yall!
This is one of the best Burning Man videos I've ever seen, and I'll cherish it even more as someone at this year's burn. I'll be eagerly sharing this with any new Burner as it truly captures the broader spirit of Burning Man as something way more than just a party in the sand. Also, that statement on the Temple representing closure was 👌
omg thank you! we really tried to capture the spirit of BM. it took us a whole week of constant thinking and talking about it during decompressing, so thank you for saying this :)
This video was absolutely amazing!!! I really wanna go to burning man for the first time next year. I have been doing tons and tons of research and even started looking inside myself for those core principles. I know I possess them but I want to tap in if that makes sense. Your video made me smile at times and even become emotional. There is this nervousness that I want to conquer and just show up for myself. Thank you for sharing your experience, it really has helped me. 🙏🏾🙂
You clearly "won" Burning Man! Thank you for your thoughtfulness in sharing your perspectives about the culture and it's application to society and daily life. Thank you for coming prepared and contributing by working on an art project your first year. Thank you for doing your homework and may it make you more fabulously yourself in ways that only you can decide. Hooray!
Third year Burner here, and your video was so pure it brought tears to my eyes! 🥹♥️ Such a wonderful encapsulation, beautifully put, you guys killed it! 💪🏼 I’m sending this to all my friends that I’m trying to convince to go with me this year.
You got it. You get it. Spectacular for first timers to understand so much so quickly. Very wise comment to realize that you were a Burner before you went. Now you know why the Greeters say "Welcome Home!" to people arriving for the first time. While there's certainly enough to see and experience and enjoy on the surface, you two saw beneath that to the deeper roots below the sparkle and EDM. The Temple in particular puts the lie to BM being only a sex & drug fueled rave in the desert. I'm a 68 year old guy who camps in a sober, recovery camp that does not allow alcohol in camp; and who would expect such a place to exist? So far neither of my kids is remotely interested in going 2024 was my 6th Burn, and of course, I'm already planning for 2025. Well done you two See you in the dust.
wow. Thank you so much. The "welcome home" was low key my favorite thing to hear at Burning Man. It really makes a lot of sense and it's alwasy lovely to hear. Your camp sounds awesome! I hope your kids would be open to learn more about it and maybe eventually go with you. See you in the dust!
you guys have done an incredible job here, too. have you considered blurring the footage of the temple offerings? people write and place offerings in there to burn, with no intention of seeing them and the energy they hold again once they are destroyed in the fire. it would be a thoughtful thing to do for the offerings you captured.
Fantastic video guys! I'm going to share this with my woman to again try and convince her to come. The heat has her at definitely NOT interested. Like you, I'm a burner. I've just never been.
Fwiw - the heat this year mostly wasn’t too bad! Which is pure luck of course. Other folks told us about past burns that got to 115. I’d probably take mud over that.
I can't thank you both enough for all you have given to me. I haven't been yet, but I definitely dream of going. I've seen many vids, but none really gave me so much insight. Especially when you explained about temple. My heart moved, and i was filled with emotion. Hugs and Love from this lonely soul. ❤
I felt like I was there…the good, the better, and the dusty. You both have the post-burn glow! Loved learning more about the inside experience of this amazing festival. Great memoir storytelling with fantastic videography. Thank you!
Excellent vlog. From a social studies experiment I love the gifting exchange which is "paying it forward" by people who use what they know or have. I know I will never go to a Burning Man so I am glad you documented your experience from build up to tear down and instead of "visiting" for nine days you were there for almost 3x that. Thank you. Very masterful work and love the "grittiness" (bad pun, I am sorry).
Honestly, this is the kind of love and feelings I search for in every festival I go too but sometimes it can be really hard to find. I've never been to burning man. I think it's everything I've been looking for in one place. I'll definitely be going someday, hopefully soon. Thank you for the video showing how beautiful of a place it is and what it stands for. I love it.
