    Love the casual weekend fedora look. I mostly have patch pocket sports jackets and blazers because of their laid back appearance. The option of not wearing a pocket square is interesting as I always reach for pocket squares when wearing these style of outfits. The fedora certainly adds a certain degree of confidence and self assuredness which does not go unnoticed. Great advanced level style channel.

      In the UK the sports coat is more referring to one where you have metal buttons at the end of the sleeves of the jacket. We normally call non suiting jackets blazers and we normally don't label much else as sports coats...

    • @neilmoomey
      @neilmoomey 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, my favorite jeans are solid dark grey, navy, black, white and khaki in straight or slim fit. I don't like faded, distressed, whitewash etc. Also, the double breasted doesn't do much for me. My favorite outfits are solid dark grey jeans with navy blazer and dark navy jeans with tweed in shades of olive or brown.

    • @khamsavanwiesner2473
      @khamsavanwiesner2473 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed Neil, I think it works (for me) when i wear a clean dark jeans paired with a simple wool or linen pocket square. But like the double breasted jacket, it is something that won't work for everybody (doubled breasted with jeans and open buttons not for me). Everything else in this video is Ace!

    I absolutely enjoyed this video! the only question I have is about pocket square. In some of your pics I've seen online, you were wearing pocket square with sport coat & jeans! Honestly, I think it looked great. I agree with you that wearing a neck-tie would be definitely too much. But, pocket square not only looked great on you, it also added a little bit of elegance and sense of humor at the same time!

    Light grey blazer with jeans, that's my style and my comfort zone, I guess. I think everything is balanced. It's an outfit I'd defnitely would love to wear. Love the muted colors and those leather boots are simply amazing! The other outfits are great too. I'd have a go on them as I try little by little. Thanks for the ideas. • @ryanporter7400

    ......I like your channel, but here is my take: 1. you can wear a tie with jeans and a blazer BUT, only a skinny tie, it keeps the siloette more slimmer and casual. 2. When wearing jeans and a blazer, the finish is essential, NO HARD BOTTOM SHOES!!! It makes the outfit too dressy and ruins the casual vibe ( the footwear is the key ALWAYS ). 3. If you do the pocket square, NO TIE. It works better as the only eye catcher, you could have done it with that turtle neck sweater look ( great hat also, nice touch there!! ). 4. If I go jeans and blazer with no tie, I generally go with a patterned sweater vest for pop ( the sweater vest is an underused artillery weapon ). It always provides that prep swing that's timeless style. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK 🔥 NICE JOB!!!

    Hey Brian great video as always! Must say #2 and #5 was the best IMO. The colours on look #2 were spot on and look #5 is how I think people should be pairing jeans and jackets together: casually. I guess as you mentioned, it's best to go with a jacket that matches the jeans, rather than trying to find a jean that matches the jacket. One of the more (surprisingly) difficult looks to pull off without looking like you just picked out whatever was dry that day. Kudos! - Han

    I disagree with the pocket square. If you wear a puff style, it’s more casual and is a great replacement for the tie and always get compliments. Of course, all a matter of opinion. I also find a pocket square focuses people’s attention to your cheat/face and not your stomach if you have to weight in your mid section.

    Dear Brian, the lapels on your jackets are the perfect size! when you but a suit from most places they are either too short or too big

    The best and most sincere as always. Not sure about no tie with jeans rule though. I pool it of in several occasion with success, even though I tend to under dress because of mine 6.6 stature. Ties should be knit or of plain wool fabric.

    The first and 3rd outfit is lit. Something I can relate to as I usually pair my blazer with denim pants. However, I’m always conflicted as to whether or not to use a pocket square for such a casual ensemble. What’s your take on this, Brian?

    I used to always put a pocket square on my blazer when wearing jeans, but now that you point out why you don't wear one, I see your point. I might go with it, makes sense to me. Thanks. Btw, that brown prince of whales blazer is really nice.

    Hi Brian, love your channel keep up the great content. What is your definition of a blazer? In my mind it’s always been a typically solid sportcoat with brass or metal buttons. Your distinction between a suit jacket and a blazer to me or somewhat blurred. Thanks

    I have found a nice knit or wool tie works well when pairing them with jeans.

    • @hespokestyle

    Great outfits! I usually don't wear white shirts with jeans, I feel that it clashes to much with the jeans and the sport coats and blazers I've got. However, the grey blazer in the first outfit makes it work!

    • @hespokestyle
      @hespokestyle  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No? The contrast can be really coolk.

    • @Officialhelpkenet
      @Officialhelpkenet 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hespokestyle I personally find it too stark, but that could also depend on the exact colour of the jeans. My only pair of jeans looks quite rugged and perhaps the clean elegance of a white dress shirt makes the contrast too stark.

    Thank you, in so many levels. This is inevitably where I gravitate as I'm in my late 20s and a suit can be too much in my environment at times... I agree 100% with the tie, you see it on Instagram and it looks awful but I do like to wear pocket squares most of the times. Loved all the looks except the last one (but can appreciate it), if I had to choose one it's probably the brown jacket on raw denim and brown boots. You only missed a nice modern tweed but 10/10 video thanks

    • @TFM8
      @TFM8 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, completely agree on the shirt tip, we're trying to dress up a pair of jeans, not dress down a sportcoat..or that's how I see it.

    • @hespokestyle
      @hespokestyle  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a more conservative approach, for sure. Some people can maybe get away with the tie. Appreciate the comment and support, as always.

    Nice. My hair is about your length, sometimes shorter but very fine texture. I bought a Wahl electric clipper a few years ago. It was the best investment I ever made. I started off keeping the sides trimmed in between visits to the barber and have gradually worked up to doing the whole head. Start slow and use a larger guard until you get a feel for what you are doing as you say. I do still go to the barber (not now obviously) because they do a better job but between visits it's a peach.

    Hi Brian, love that navy cardigan you wear throughout the video. Perhaps if I may suggest that if you could make a video on how to wear cardigan & v/crew neck sweater, would love to watch! Cheers, from 🇲🇾
