Ive never watched this show fully, yet the line "You do feel familiar... Like a happy dream I can't remember..." Just hit me like a sack of bricks put of nowhere.

I didn't watch this season ... but it still stretch me some tears !
Seeing Neo become part of the tree for her own closure made me a bit emotional, I really want to see her find her own closure and come back better than ever.
Like ruby says neo will find herself one way or the other its not the end for neo yet.
But what is there to work with? Neo lost her standing, and the organization she's part of only considers her an asset easy to replace.
@@lumberluc i mean she could eventually help team ruby take on cinder and salem should she actually turn good. Neo can switch sides theres no stopping neo from learning the truth eventually.

Somewhat calling Ruby a huntress...Little's memories are still there, and it made things so much more touching. I'm happy Ruby got that kind of moment with such a special friend to her.

“Somewhat” is a cute name for a Wonderland creature.
Kinda wish they could have brought Little and Juniper back with them. Animal sidekicks are fun. And having Jaune ride into battle would be so epic. And a tiny mouse in Ruby’s hood is too cute.
I love that Somewhat's cape is the shape of a maple leaf, for the Tree.

Everyone is focusing on Somewhat’s goodbye to Ruby for good reason, but their interaction with Jaune and Juniper is really cute. Just a tiny little squire getting to meet a brave, heroic knight and being gifted his beloved steed.
Rusty Knight pass the torch of proctor, care giver and guide to to a newer and brighter Knight for the future generation to follow.😌
I like that Somewhat has a hood and cape like Ruby does. I wonder if that's a reflection of the inspiration and kindness Ruby initially showed Little when they first met...
I'm paraphrasing a previous comment I saw, but I think the general idea is that Little went to the tree and was asked what he wanted to be and he simply said... Ruby.

one of the most heartwarming moments in RWBY, ever.
Im so proud of them, when blake asked " if they made things worse in the ever after", I was glad they finally considerate about their actions, cause now they focusing on the outcomes rather than the part of they got right
I was feeling the same way.
Their journey through the Ever After really put things in perspective for them.
Knights of the Old Republic 2 really hammers in that message. Every action you make leads to a ripple effect in the galaxy, no matter how small. From giving someone begging for money, to destroying a fuel depot, even siding with a company over some environmentalists. It all has consequences that you don’t think of
But in the end, they did.
And the last shot of Vacuo shows that what they did in vol 8 had an impact.
The only good thing they did was creating Somewhat other than that they did nothing Neo did more good than they did she killed both the Jabberwalker and the curious cat. She's also the reason why Little has a job since Somewhat took the cat's job.
I can't be the only one who wanted Jaune to keep Juniper. He loved her more that some parents love their kids.
I wanted Ruby to bring Little but thanks to Neo that's impossible since Little lost her memories of Ruby and isn't as portable as she was as a cute small mouse.

Would have wanted that too. Doubt creatures from Ever After could survive outside of it. Plus imagine Nora's reaction to the jackalope.

My favorite part of this heartbreak of a farewell scene is Ruby’s joyful demeanor as she sees “Little” again.
Just look at her shaking with glee as she grins! 🤧
Looks like she’s getting her joyful attitude back!
I hope she does.

Plus, she asked them the exact same question they asked her when they first met..

I’m with you on that. Ruby got more character development in the last 10 episodes than in 8 other volumes. And yeah, she’s kinda back where she started with the whole “excitable and innocent” thing, but now she’s actually putting her needs and wants out there, not bottling everything up while she tries to help literally everyone else.
@@davidblass8479 I think you will see the stoic badass from the Red Trailer now at times. She used the vanish sibilance she only used before in the Red Trailer where she goes away in puff of petals to show up elsewhere.
After all the trauma Ruby went through, she needed this happy ending
Glad that Little came back as Somewhat and got the chance to say goodbye to Ruby.
I feel like the neck around cape on Somewhat represents Ruby’s own the more I look at it.
She inspired Little like how she inspired everyone in Remnant.
When the dust settles, I feel like Jaune would be the one to write the tales of what RWBY & JNPR did
I like the idea of rwby ending with a storybook epilogue similar to the prologue all the way in v1 as the adventures of team RWBY and their friends fade into legends like all the other fairytales

The adventures of Somewhat and juniper is an acceptable spin off.
I love how you can tell that little became somewhat because of ruby. her cloak and the way it wraps around her collar. her belt and some finger less gloves. somewhat is living proof that ruby inspired and helped little find her purpose. and that ruby is a hero. not of everything. but of what matters most. the little things
Didn’t know neo became part of the true but I hope she finds herself honestly. We need a neo arc next season. She deserves it. We need to see her find herself she killed the cat like that’s iconic.
I don't think she'll turn up til the final season to be honest.
We will likely see New Neo talking to the blacksmith or leaving the ever after in the epilogue scene of the last volume.
Maybe she'll finally become a good character
I say after Neo realized that killing Ruby was worthless because torchwick is gone , whether it is Ruby Dead or not. She's now on a journey to find her purpose and her voice
Maybe she'll become the next Curious Cat. Since she killed the other wardens
Somewhat and Juniper are the marks of Ruby and Jaune growth and the parts they play in that world.
The perfect partners of two heroes that finally found some inner peace and are ready to move on.
Little is obviously positively affected Ruby ❤❤❤❤❤
This is one hell of a therapy session.
A part of me was hoping Juniper would be staying with Jaune.
RWBY for a bit I thought it was done like it’s spark ran out. Volume 9…. It was a weird rollercoaster of emotions and honestly…. Honestly I’m glad it was. I think I can happily say that I’m glad I stuck around cuz this volume was perfect, not a flaw about it, completely beautiful even poetically so…. I loved it so so much
This show has made me cry more than any other series I've watched or story I've read.
Same though. I'm a sucker for emotional gut punches even if some would call them low blows. Friend, Forever Fall, Until the End, a lot of the saddest songs from this show always make me cry no matter when it is I'm listening to them(except maybe in social situations lol)
This is the only volume where I was so emotional. Neo "killing" Little shocked me to my core and this scene and the flashback Ruby has during the Blacksmith's scene broke me😭
Little guided Ruby home and in return, Ruby imprinted so much on Little that they wanted to become a hunter and hero like her

I love how the tree made Hush. The leaves as the umbrella looks so pretty, I hope whoever Neo ascends to keeps hush like that

I think they didn’t tell them of their prior life as Little because they want them to form their own identity distinctive from Little since Somewhat is a newer version of Little now.

Many of us have also been told by a TH-camr named "marylizabetha", who knows quite a bit about German folklore fairy tales and symbolism of words, that the acre with pyramids may hold the dead body of Penny because pyramids hold the dead.
Since Pyrrha's "demise" looks similar to how the team looked when they fell, there is a chance that Neo would team up with Pyrrha and Penny against Salem when they return alongside Team RWBY.
A bit of a stretch but we'll see

Idk about that tho... but thinking about those 3 being together... woah what a power house. Even when penny doesn't have the maiden's power if well equipped she could be very capable.
@@cyndaquil_redrix186 she was rebuilt from her original robot parts, so her mind and activatable core should still be intact.
Ok so as someone who has disliked RWBY for a long time due to writing decisions I have to admit this volume was actually pretty good. It not only addressed my problems with the story in previous volumes but it also gave it's own story that was legit very interesting seeing the character at what could be considered their lowest point really helps with character development. So I have to admit this wasn't bad.
I mean without Neo the Jabberwalker's probably gone for good now

I was telling a frind it would be great to see her as some sort of cameo in the long future as someone we hear and see singing, being real obvious that se literally had a change of everything after the Ever After
I'll always dislike Neo for being cruel enough to crush Little but I also appreciate her for doing that because if she didn't do that Little never would've ascended and become the thing they wanted to be but was too small and naive to become.
Idk if Afterans can go to Remnant given the cat wasn't able to go even in Neo's body so if Little wasn't able to they would've been on their own Little wouldn't be able to take care of themselves as we saw at the bridge. Ruby was Little's home if they weren't able to go with Ruby then they were practically dead especially since they didn't know the way back to their pack. Their "death" needed to happen so that they could become the new guide of Ever After since the cat's forever gone, it's protector, and be able to take care of themselves and others. Balance was restored.
Another thing we never have to worry about Somewhat getting killed because Neo killed the Jabberwalker and the curious cat so she basically made the place safe for Somewhat to be the guide and hero they wanted to be.
Neo becoming part of the tree, looking for herself after going so long in a fantastical role as someone she no longer was, hits you right in the feels.
You guys know, Luffer from Persona 5 The Phantom X the videogame, a transcended being transform from owl to phantom thief, and from phantom thief to owl in the Metaverse.
I need a spinoff about the adventures of Somewhat of a lot of things and Juniper the Jackrabbit 🥺

Gosh this scene always hits me right in the feels.
it's sad you know, the friends they've made in the Ever After, Little/Somewhat and Juniper, and now they have to part ways.
Honestly I wouldn't had mind more episodes there so they could introduce Somewhat's character more from these small interactions Somewhat still had Little's personality but they seem to be smarter and more capable than their old self. Juane could teach Somewhat a few things since he spent years there as Ever After's protector. We can also see how Somewhat interacts with Ruby. It would also been nice to see how the other mice responded to Somewhat and RWBY explaining what happened no doubt the other mice would want Somewhat around more so that Somewhat could pick up the fruit for them😂 who knows the same way Juane looked out for his paper buddies could be the same way Somewhat looks out for the mice.

The show’s not perfect, but I’m not gonna lie and say it’s terrible, it does so much right, even when it comes to handling some of main characters, Ruby I feel has grown a lot, everyone else too! I’m happy Volume 9 ended the way it did, I’m really looking forward to Volume 10 whenever it releases.
Okay this probably is asking to much but I'm hoping the Ever After people come back for the final battle of the season led by Neo (who maybe assends to become a white queen like individual with some of the old Neo sprinkled in) and we see Somewhat and Juniper ride into battle to help the heros while Somehat wields a Sickle for a sword
If they had played red like roses when she returned I would have cried.

Listen I agree but I can also say that Ruby and Little barley interacted with only them talking in the beginning and when they were arguing. So I would have liked to see more of their friendship grow. Shit I wished that Little and Juniper were able to cross over to join the battle.

I think he'll be a sort of Robin Hood, protecting the Ever After creatures from the Red Prince and other villains like that raccoon
He will be the Mouse Knight replacement for Rusted. Might double as Cat replacement
it's like the cat said, once those from the Ever After ascended, that the heart rarely forgets.
Ruby takes a first step on getting better, Jaune is getting better, Neo is on the path to become better and Little…sorry Somewhat gets to see Ruby again, even if she doesn’t know it. This volume has its ups and downs and one hell of an emotional roller coaster. But damn if that doesn’t bring a tear to your eye.
I love how even though Little lost her conscious memories becoming Somewhat, they still wanted to reunite with Ruby and see her and her friends off.
I'll say this is one of the best closing in RWBY Volume, its been so long we got this warmful happy ending after that chaotic Vol 7 n 8

What surprises me most about this scene is that Weiss called Little a protector.
It’s a cute bit of irony when she was the one to point out Little’s apparent uselessness as they were shrunk down.
She said that the mouse and I quote “had the attention span of a goldfish”.
Seems they all matured in their own way.
What a wonderful sendoff after all the heartache.
