I kind of like that Jaune kept a bit of white in his hair now. Makes him look more distinguished! But also shows how much of his maturity and emotional scars will stay with him, but the kind of scars you can show with pride! I also look forward to seeing how much more he's improved as a huntsman, putting years of practical experience back into his younger self!

Despite the emotional breakthrough and letting go of the illusion of control, I really want to see how much of his maturity, trauma and development will affect moving forward with essentially a second go at life!

This will be the day we open up the door." Is amazing, it all comes back around.
Exactly. I really loved seeing how everything has come full circle. The five of them were the first students of Beacon we encountered back in the first few chapters of Volume 1, and they've been through so much together. Despite the fact that they were not all on good terms with each other initially, seeing them all stand united together for those last few seconds was really touching.

If they ever end up looking for a job, Jaune is propably the only one who actually has the required xx years of working experience on his resume.
Not really he just makes many useless things like saving paper stars and he is really DISAPPOINTED.He have decades to be at least competent fighter but he is still a useless person.

Despite no obvious reason to, Ruby is basically a nobody, no kingdom should've paid attention to her, so unless Glynda and any others more influencial people decided to believe her, it feels very forced.
Jaune had maybe 20-30 years in the Ever After. Team RWBY on the other hand was in there for like 2 days
after seeing Curious cats origin story, I sort of feel bad for how they were eaten alive by its cousin, even if they did deserve it. they only became that way because after being a therapist for everyone in Ever after for so long, feeling abandoned, then betrayed, its not wonder they snapped and became a psychotic monster.

It just goes to show that life anywhere is never simple, even if the rules and roles given are. To live is more than just doing a purpose, or a desire it’s more than that. It stumbling around, taking a hit, having disagreements, having feelings and hearts broken, telling your feelings, expressing your emotion, being curious about everything, learning anything you can, and build what you believe in, thinking about what’s more around you and thinking about more about yourself. The ever after is not just a world it’s a beginning for all and an ending in a more emotional and fantastic form where the goal is to find who you truly are and what you want to do. That life in any world. This one and others

Give. Me. White. Knight! I've always hoped it would happen and there have been some hints sprinkled around since V5 but this volume was really delivering on the WK vibes.
I feel like Jaune’s new, whiter hairs mixed with his regular hair color signify that while he’s back to being his younger self… he’s not exactly the same Jaune he used to be.
The ending to this season was, in my opinion, the best ending to a season we’ve gotten in far too long. It actually gives some hope for Season 10 despite 9 itself not being exactly the best of the lot.
9 was not a good season but that was a very satisfying finale and for my money 10 is gonna be fantastic

I still say this Season 9 Sucks. Like seriously! Neo and The Cat were such An Awesome Villain Combo! It would have been Terrific if they Got Rid of Salem and Cinder and become The New Main Villains! But Nooooo...!!! They could have salvaged the show but instead they botched it!

I feel sorry the god of darkness tbh cause everytime he tried to do something outside of his purpose, the older one would stifle his efforts and basically villainize him.
He created the jabberwalker and it was destroyed, on Remnant was abandoned and never had anyone willingly come to him for help and when he did help Salem his brother chastised him for it. Yeah they agreed on rules and he corrected that mistake but I see it like just because he was dark doesn’t mean he was supposed to be evil 24/7; his brother destroying everything he made and robbing darkness of his agency.
And they created a new monster that is Salem

He wasn’t villanized her at all, the blacksmith made it clear. The jabberwalks exceptionally cruel and brutal, and the older brother believed their creation had disrupted the balance, the younger believed even so they shouldn’t hold its actions against it.
It was really just “should we risk letting this continue to disrupt the balance” vs “should we risk it and not hold it against them”.
His brother never chastised him for having Salem coming to help him, he called out how Salem tricked him and went to him second.
You say the god of creation kept stifling his brother but if I remember, the only times they had conflicts were when he believed a shared creation of theirs ruined balance, when his creations kept destroying the god of creation’s creations, and when the younger brother misunderstood the Salem situation
Honestly, one of the most satisfying endings to a season that rwby has given to us in a long time.

well volume9 is a Let go&Accept arc
Volume 3 was the first major ending which changed the series. Volumes 4 to 6 had endings that were good because they were able to win. Volume 7 is when things started to change again. It ended with the heroes fighting amongst themselves (RWBY and co against Ironwood and his forces) and Salem arriving at Atlas. Volume 8 ended on the most sad, dark and depressing note ever. Atlas fell, Salem got two relics, and many characters died including Penny. But here the heroes found their resolve and strength again and are better and stronger than before and the first thing they see when they get home, is that Vacuo is surrounded by airships ready to take on Salem.
After the last few seasons it fills good to have a happy ending for once
We're in the Endgame now. Three more Volumes to end it all
That ending shot shows how they all heard Ruby's message and came together 😭😭
Either that, or when they saw that Atalas has fallen, after Beacon, realised something was seriously off and decided to put their collective asses on gear
I would think that the headmaster of Vacuo would realize that with Beacon, Atlas and Mantle's fall and probably learning that Mistral is pretty much lost as well, they are next. I believe it had nothing to do with Ruby's message and more that we are all that stands between Remnant surviving or being destroyed.

Jaune BETTER keeps that older guy mentality because it would be cool if he acts that way in his younger self, he got a lot of experiences and wisdom in his time in the Everafter. I mean the guy has been through so much and to change that would annoy a lot of people....at least he kept the white streaks in his hair though 😊
I know it probably won't happen, but after ending on that comment of, "When they are needed most," it'd be really cool if they did just an episode or two of the Nora, Ren, and whoever else was able to make the trip getting there and then things taking a turn for the worst... only to have these three come busting through the chaos of all the Grimm.
But in reality, it'll probably just be them getting there a little bit before everything starts hitting the fan.
Am I the only one crying seeing ruby hold the totem of Somewhat and the flashes of when ruby met little and then little final moments crying and pleading ruby to get up and fight? It's so sad seeing how little showed so much care for ruby even after being told that it was dangerous to be around ruby. And now Somewhat is now going to protect Jnpr and have Adventures in the Everafter to find their purpose😭😭😭

What a surprising way to cap off Volume 9: Ruby getting her spark back, Raven's reappearance, Neo choosing to change herself, the origin of the Gods, Jaune regaining his youth and Vacuo getting the much-needed back-up thanks to Ruby inspiring the world.
Volume 10, here we come! I sure hope there's no timeskip.
I’m hoping it’s a slight time skip but nothing too major (like a year at most)
The fact that Vacuo is protected by a lot of airships proves Ironwood was wrong. Ruby wanted to get the message out but Ironwood chose to abandon everything he worked for just to keep one city safe. Ruby really is a hero
I still have so many questions when they go back to the fight, how long were they gone?, Did everyone age? Is Jaune really back to his original age, how much has happened when they disappeared?

After Juan realized how he sounded when he was younger and Wiess laughing, I feel she has began having a crush on young Juan because of how much he has matured during the Ever After
Now, I'm curious on if Neo will choose to rebuild herself. It's a scary thought not knowing if your favorite character will ever come back. It really is. However, I hope Neo finds her happiness and learns to move on. I hope she'll return one day after healing. The cat said she couldn't return because she has nothing to return to, but I hope the journey she goes on will change that. She'll find something to return to

Since Neopolitan helped her former enemies from the Cursid Cat, she could grow attachments to them. Which will make her return to Remnant.

I feel like the REAL conflict of the story is not RWBY vs. Salem, but really RWBY vs. the Brothers.
Almost all of the conflicts are due to the Brothers, from the creation of the Grimm to the callous treatment of Salem. So, the door being "open for the Brothers' return" at 5:00 seem very important.

This has been such a strange volume but the lows weren't nearly as low as some previous volumes and highs were amazing. This conclusion and literally everything done in the latter half of the volume was mmmmwah
They need to continue having longer hiatuses. I know waiting sucks but look at what we got! RWBY, as a show has never had such a satisfying ending for a volume even during the Beacon arc! 😊
@skrrt skrrt Fr the quality and effective handling of such dark subject matter...I can't lie. I'm shocked with how well this turned out! I think they'll need less time for the following volumes to match this quality. They were juggling _a lot_ of projects/issues between V8 and V9. I wouldn't be shocked if it premiered far sooner than V9 while succeeding it's quality.
The way they handled things here gave me so much hope for how they'll resolve the extremely heavy issues and character arcs they've set up previously.
I really hope volume 10/11 is the finale of the salem story. As it stands right now, the world has been called into action, and Salem will be coming soon. Ruby knows what she's meant to be now, and it's now time to push back.
I hope in volume 10 we see more of jaune talk about his experiences with his team.

But most of all if Lewis is still alive I want jaune to tell him about what happened after he left and they both have a " grieving/honoring his sister " moment/ sequence and not just a passing comment of " oh you've been sneaking away alot jaune where do you even go ?? " "oh me I've found that Lewis lives here in vacuo and I talk to him sometimes about the ever after
I Also wants more of a Summer with Raven secrets, maybe something of a sign leading to her death, maybe even outside of Salem or other twist.

I'm not sure if Lewis would still be alive as the fairy tale he wrote is implied to be a childhood favorite for several generations. But if he is he's probably really old and if not then he met his sister in the afterlife which we know exists.

Hearing the "This Will Be The Day" ost in the background hit me in the feels. I think volume10 will have a happy-ending because this is the most hopeful things have been for the characters in a long time. It also feels like a sign that the end is near, and that everything has come full-circle. Here's hoping for volume10!

So the brothers were made to balance the growth of the ever after. They needed to clear areas that weren't important out so new stuff could be made. But they were so powerful that Light created the Curious Cat to find the "broken" pieces and Dark created the Jabberwalker to "clear" them out. Now that they didn't have a job to do they kept experimenting. Ultimately they disagreed on how they should handle their responsibility and so the tree basically put them in time out, but this time out was actually a separate world where they could both experiment to their hearts content?
I'm not sure how I feel about getting an origin story for the gods of remnant that basically peg them as Ever-afterans. So now the REAL creator is the will of the Tree
I spent this whole volume thinking this was where the Brothers went when they left Remnant, and the will of the Tree was actually the Brothers. I guess this is cool too though
That guitar at the end is just so awesome!

Something interesting about what the Blacksmith said. According to her, Jacob was the one who blamed the Jabberwalker for not coming out "right" and lashed out, while Wilhelm was the one who said the mistake was on them. Yet Jacob didn't destroy Salem. Hmmm. A little different than how Jinn portrayed them.

They're good. Nora has some cool scars now, Ren can sense emotions and even track them, and Oscar is becoming more and more like Ozpin.
The Ever After was exactly what all of them needed. To help heal the wounds on their hearts; facing the fears and doubts festering within

Seeing how RT is starting to lose money and stuff like that, im holding on so much hope that volume 10 would be made, hell even in production. I dont want to see RWBY just be discontinued since it was a fun journey for me watching vol.1-9 and seeing all the ups and downs of the show

I know this volume ended awhile ago but I just want to ask. After an over two year hiatus, was volume 9 worth the wait. Because to me it sure was.
Ruby's plan in Volume 8 worked!!! The reinforcements just went to Vacuo instead of Atlas! Score 1 for Team RNBW

Yes he deserted it because he thought there was no time to implement it, but I guess on the whole it was a good plan.

What sucks is that, the entire series ended on an Infinity War type scenario. RIP RWBY

On the bright side. Jaune should retain all the skills he picked up in the years he spent exploring the Everafter and won’t be clumsy during fight.

The Brothers are the true villains here, Salem is just Curious Cat 2 but this time Ruby will find a way to redeem her. Someone needs to teach them to actually CARE about their creations, the way the Tree does.
@@BluWartortle good point, it's the brothers fault that they turned her into an immortal monster, and denied her happily ever after, besides, Ruby did point out that just because Salem can't be killed, or destroyed, doesn't mean she still can't be beaten, considering we know what Salem's plans are, Ruby has to be the one to talk and beat some sense into her.

Are my eyes deceiving me, or is that Amity Coliseum in the final shot? Didn't that crash land somewhere in Atlas with Pietro and Maria?
I dont remember it crashing. It just sat in an unstable orbit and we heard nothing from it. Well...till now.
I think that looks far more lik the amnity communications tower in the background. Likely with a ship in front of it. Atlas the land/city . Those two were different things I believe. the colleseum was part of Atlas itself, not the comm tower array they sent up.
The communication tower was still in decaying orbit. The collasium fell on mantel.
but chances are very good that the Comm tower, Maria and Pietro were just fine.
and it looks like they fixed it and put it back in to flying . Likely as a means to restore cross commuinication with large parts of the world to gather and communicate.
Amity was slowly sinking but Pietro must have done something to keep it from completely crashing.
so technically, the jabberwalker was the first grimm.
I’m holding onto hope for WhiteKnight to happen
I still believe the Great Tree is somehow connected to the Crown of Choice, a relic that is supposed to be hidden in Beacon Academy's vault. It can't be a coincidence that the destination the heroes were after this whole volume was so focused on giving choices and the fact the relic no one knows where it's hidden just so happens to possess the power of choice.
But didn't the brothers create the relics. And the tree created the brother's?

What im looking forward now is the potential ship between weiss and jaune, that would be an interresting dynamic.
Jaune was into weiss in their school years but weiss wasn't. Then Jaune met Pyrrha and lost her, inflicting a deep scar on his emotional mindset.
But now weiss took an interest to jaune, not just cause he looks hot but because he is mature, far more than them.
I wonder how this could play out. If jaune would flat out refuse cause it was another time another love, because he can't let go of Pyrrha, or if he's willing to try a relationship again.

Noticed that too. It could signify that he's able to keep all those decades worth of growth and experience during his stay in the Everafter as he gets back his youth and return to Remnant. I'm actually excited how he'll do on the next volumes.

Really curious how they plan to end this series, with VIZ Media being the new studio and publisher for the series it’s puzzling if they plan to keep the stories going or they only wish to fund them for one final season cause I feel like they end it with Volume 10 but because of how the recent shorts came out, it could maybe use 2 volumes at least since we barely get introduced to Vaqueo after being in Vale for 3 volumes and Atlas for 3 volumes.
Oh well, here's hoping for a reboot. Preferably a reboot that sticks to the core setting pieces without all the extra introduced v3 and onwards. Elemental rocks, force fields plus one other superpower per person, animal-people, and evil shadow monsters. No maidens, no genies, no "magic".
