I’m not the type to make clickbait thumbnails about how upcoming movies are “DOOMED” when I know almost nothing about them, and I’m not here to complain about the casting or insult the filmmakers. I’m just presenting the information from the sources in their own words while begging the question: how will they sound? Which of the three suggested accent options should they go for?
Gosh. When she said its not going to be exactly like the animated one, that got me worried. I just hope they don't screw up the story too much, which I'm sure they will in a way. I'm most worried about how the dragons will look, though I am excited for the music as John Powell will still be doing it, as long its the same themes, which I expect the they will be.
I honestly HOPE it's gonna be different. Because we already have the originals for those stories. I think they picked a pretty cool cast and I can't say I'm exactly excited, but at least curious about this project. There are many opportunities they could do with a different take on this setting and I hope they use them well.
This was a really concise breakdown of accents in film! I think sometimes a film can be ruined by an actor not using their native accent but that’s just my opinion. It will be interesting to see what they choose either way.
@@FilmScoreandMore I also think the diverse cast is going to differentiate the remake from the original anyway. As in, people already have an issue with that so even if the accents were accurate, I can’t see it changing people’s minds. And like you pointed out, the accents weren’t consistent in the original film yet people adore it. I don’t think they suddenly need to correct that in the remake.
I think the approach with actors having their natural accents is best, HTTYD vikings are more of the fictional vague viking kind than historically inspired, maybe it would be somewhat more in line with their intent to not follow the original scenario to the letter.
Unfortunately that seems impossible. It’s still a remake. So it seems like it will be trapped in this middle ground between new and old that I’m not sure anyone will be happy with.
@FilmScoreandMore It's a remake but the characters don't have to have the exact same personality. And to be honest they can't. If they remade the film scene for scene it will look so stupid.
@deltaechomusicnh555 They could easily adapt the same character traits to the live action characters without it becoming cartoony. In fact, shouldn’t they?
Wait Wait Wait ”move away from twins stereotype” HUH? Did they not understand THEIR WHOLE POINT OF BEING SO ALIKE? Rufnut and Tufnut are so alike that people think they are one egg twins. That people think Rufnut is a guy if they don’t know she’s a girl. She’s in my opinion a good feminist Icon. You don’t have to act or look feminine to be a woman/girl. She’s such an inspiration just like Astrid. Why do they want to get rid of it?
I kinda don't get not doing the twins looking the same. Kinda the point was that they looked so similar you couldn't tell who was the boy and who was the girl. But whatever, we'll see what they do instead
@@FilmScoreandMorebut they can’t be indentical twins. One egg twins has the same DNA and CAN’T be diffrent gender. They are 2 egg twins. Rufnut gives a powerfull symbol of ”you don’t have to look or act feminine to be a woman. She is herself, women is just her gender” in the show if people don’t know Rufnut is a girl they probably whould asume the feminine stereotype of what a girl is. Rufnut is such an feminist Icon.
@@loka-chan6695I don't think they made them so alike for the reason you think. Treating twins as a package deal is commonplace in Western media. Like Phil and Lil from "Rugrats." Both sets of twins are hard to tell apart and have similar personalities.
I don’t think the music in the live action will be bad in my opinion it’s more of the story and how it’s gonna be told I mean when it comes to most live action films the music usually is less criticized and usually everyone loves to make fun of the story changes ,
I do find it funny, where people compain about ethnicity but the franchise has never been accurate on that front, especially with the accents. Somehow people forget this is a fantasy film so at the end of the day it doesn't matter. Honeslty at this point I'm kinda interested where they plan on changing it from the original, weather its good or not we'll have to wait.

And happy Chinese new year of the dragon 🐉 🎉 In terms of accents, umm… how do I put it? I usually watch movies dubbed in Russian 😂 It makes it easier for my brain to process one language than English with many accents if that makes sense.
In the German dubbing they gave everyone a high German accent, so basically just normal German, while only Stoick and Gobber speak with a frisian accent, which is what the people living by the North Sea sound like (the dialect would be called low German, apparently, I only used Google translate), so they sound like stereotypical sailors.
@ViktoriousFlutes Hey, there’s nothing wrong with that! And I’m sure that helps you to understand and make connections, plus to appreciate the subtleties in each version.
Just sharing my two cents- I appreciate that Astrid's actress didn't do the whole 'this is for a new generation' spiel in the interview, acting like this is gonna be the definitive version of the story. She acknowledges the originals exist and they still matter to a whole lot of us even if we don't like this one. Personally a breath of fresh air compared ALOT other remake cast members...

I don’t know about people but I know one egg twins pair and one 2 egg twins pair. One egg twins are one egg split in two. Which makes them same sex cos they have same DNA. They look very similar but If you know them you can easy see the diffrence. The two egg twins I know are diffrent gender, boy is red haired and girl is blonde. The master piece of the TWO egg twins Rufnut and Tufnut is that they are so alike people think they are one egg twins. Astrid may look feminine but she’s strong and independent. Rufnut looks and ”acts” more like a boy stereotype but that dosn’t make her man! She’s a woman!
Right because all the way in the northern Scandinavian viking islands you’ll find dark skin people. Give me a break. It’s not convincing storytelling. I wouldn’t want to see a light skinned person in a film about an indigenous tribe deep in Africa unless they had a good reason to explain why.
