- Many of you have requested it to me so I did it; here’s India’s newest low cost!
Not only was Akasa Air the most affordable on this sector on this date, but I’m sure it was also the best!
I had the pleasure of booking A++ seats for around 20$ extra and it was well worth the experience! But technically it is just Akasa Air Economy Class.
This aircraft was built for Jet Airways and the cabin was supposed to be a dedicated business class but Akasa Air sells it at a small extra fee.
Come and join me on this surprising airline and enjoy the small business class cabin as long as it lasts; they’re expected to be removed soon.

I feel The best thing About Akasa is the Uniform of their cabin crew. They really thought about them, treated them as human, and made comfortable jackets and trousers as their Uniform. hats off to Akasa Air for breaking the stereotypes. 🫡

Despite it being an “informal airline” I suspect some of the crew came from Jet Airways though.. Very professional!
@@TheLayoverAviation Most of Akasa Air's current staff, and almost the entire management is imported from Jet Airways.
@@TheLayoverAviation When Akasa was hiring and putting out ads for interviews, a large chunk of IndiGo's staff went on sick leave to attend the interviews. It actually made the news as IndiGo had to cut several flights that day. So yeah, many ex-Jet people are at Akasa, but I suspect that there are just as many ex-IndiGo folks too.

On the MAA-TRZ route trains and buses have completely beaten planes and it's rare to see one leaving lol

@@TheLayoverAviation A 59 km route between Guwahati and Shillong exists. It takes just 25 mins on an ATR 72. This is actually worth it since the road route takes 3hrs due to the mountains. There are many rich Indians to take that flight, I suppose.
no doubt this is the best video in your channel in my opinion, cuz this reminds me of flying akasa air for the first time and it was awesome, and ive watched this on repeat like 26 times to just get nostalgia....

Great video, Alex. I may have flown on the same aircraft from BOM-BLR about 3 months ago - I was in seat 3F in the A++ cabin as well. LOVED the new-aircraft smell!

Thanks for showing this new airline flight review Alex! Love the look of the fresh new cabin! Now for that price I'd gladly pay for the ++ cabin every day! Looks like AA's new domestic FC seat, Or their Long haul Prem econ seat. Now I must say it's a shame they will be removing these ++ seats soon ;( The food looked pretty good too! Maybe i'' get to fly them someday! Last time I flew over India we flew through the most massive thunderstorm, It was scary it even had the QR A380 I was on bumping all about ;( Glad Your flight was a smooth one. How is the video footage so good ? Most airliner windows are not clear, have smudges and scratches ! Great work !
I have the same issue, trust me! But once I find a good vision despite the scratches or dirt I’ll lock the camera and not move it again as some video’s just get ruined.
I do have some landings and take offs that got messed up so I can’t really publish the video.. :(
Three windows for a seat in a LCC.. well thats first time seeing this. And the seat itself was quite good. Great trip anyways. Hope you enjoyed the gujiyas.

Great video mate, just to make it a bit clear. I live in Navi Mumbai, as you mentioned to my city as a satellite city to Mumbai, that's not how it is. Navi Mumbai is completely a different city than to Mumbai and it does not server any purpose to Mumbai whatsoever. Please just be more careful while writing the description of a city. overall great video mate I'd love to see more. 🙌👍

Tough one! I wouldn’t know what to say, each one of them is different and serves a purpose.
Vistara is nice but the legroom’s really bad in economy. Air India was fun but a bit inconsistent as planes can be good or quite a mess.
I wish I could answer Jet Airways or Kingfisher!

As always... superb trip report...!! Seems like a very nice carrier...who even though supposedly low cost...are setting their product's and services to higher levels and presenting these to the travelling public in a very classy way...only one thinks that they should definately serve warmed...if not hot meals and not get rid of their premium economy...that would be a big mistake...as it's apparently very popular with corporates now...good luck to them..and thanks for sharing...!!

I tend to give them whenever I see they have the time, as boarding is usually a busy period. I don’t always give them, like on this occasion as I didn’t have time to buy them.

Hey mate, another blockbuster vlog! Kudos. So why Akasa used entire length of the runway at MAA, while Indigo doesn’t?
It saves time and fuel to use an intersection. The risk is that it’s more prone to errors.. It all depends on the company policy. Many are no risk takers so they rather do the full runway.
This way in case of any engine problem or pilot error the pilots have more runway margin to take off safely.

There are plenty of ways to check, either on live plane tracking apps or on websites by searching the registration. Easy!

Good question. But they serve different markets. flydubai also has more upscale prices due to the region that it operates in.
flydubai is sometimes full service and it has IFE so it’s unfair to compare both..

I booked it from Dubai and then they swapped it to a B787, so I delayed my trip.
