Thank you so much dude. After watching your video I was able to get the 100 jumps in about 30 minutes. Very useful guide! The pro controller tip was crucial for me.

@@KingProclaimedyes it seems like it is helpful but I just can't get it at somebody in one of the comments said wait to get princess peach and put the enemies to sleep that might work a little bit better because I still can't get the timing
Finally pulled this off. Hardest thing about this was I'd start anticipating the button press and I'd press early. I really had to work at "turning off" my brain and just pressing when I saw Mario's shadow stop falling. It also helped to not lay my finger on the button, but hold it above the controller and slam down with each press.
I find it the most useful to have the “earlier times” item at hand (purchasable from the frog scholar in seaside town for 15 frog coins) since it can rewind the battle back to the start, including restoring all of the flower points you had prior to spending it on super jumps, which allows you to not have to go back and forth to Mario’s pad to rest up. I recommend using it exclusively for the 100 jump challenge because say, you get 30 jumps but use the item again to try the 100 jumps but give up midway through, I don’t think the 30 jumps record saves if you use the item after that.
A lot of people have been saying that! I know there are a bunch of people out there that haven’t gotten that far and are trying for the 100 jumps so I guess Mario’s house only applies to them??
@@sny_guyI just wouldn’t at all bother with the challenge prior to getting to Monstro Town at the very least since it takes A LOT of retries and by then you should have a lot of flower points at your disposal, access to Seaside Town, and the means to be rewarded for the challenge anyway. Take breaks if you fail. 6. Don’t give up. I was never able to do this on SNES. This was a first for me. It took me probably 3 hours spread across a few days of attempts.
Thank you so much! Input lag was critical for me. The lizard in the Belome temple is also a good option. I pressed the button when the shadow of Mario passes by a certain pixel on the ground.
I finally did it. But I used a different enemy, and it made the world of difference. I kept failing after 15-30 jumps using these enemies. But I moved to Rose Way and fought the Arachne enemies. I watched the shadows only, and waited for Mario's shadow to fall into the 'V' between the Arachne's legs' shadows, and did it on the third Arachne I tried.
Took a few attempts at it while playing in docked mode using my pro controller, came close a few times to accomplishing it, put it off for a bit and took a break, came back and tried it again, this time in handheld tabletop mode with my pro controller again while laying in my bed lol, when I reached the 70s I got really tense but surprisingly I successfully pulled it off! Don’t give up bros, Frozone is counting on us to find and earn our Super Suits! Haha!
While I'm doing this, I feel an imaginary Fletcher slapping me after I screw up every time. "WERE YOU RUSHING OR WERE YOU DRAGGING???" Still haven't been able to complete this challenge to this day.
I did it in about 60 mins! What helped me a lot, was focussing on something other than the enemy (the ground of green visuals behind the enemy). Also make sure to press your button a lot harder than you would usually do, it helped me a lot. Keep trying guys and you Will get it.
There's a few ways to time this I'm sure but using a lets say 1 tile enemy like the spikey or K-9 enemy here's how I figured it out. You can watch Mario's Sprite or the Top of the Enemy but there's a lot or colors and sometimes our eyes will deviate a bit because Oooh Colors!! So, to what I did was watch Mario's shadow. Specifically one aspect of his animation which you can also see on his regular model too. When he touches the enemy, he dips his head forward. If you're watching the the shadow, this head dip touches the bottom of the hit counter. That exact moment is when you want to time your button press. His head should dip visually for you the player 1-2 frames. It's a very easy visual que to watch for since there's only 3 colors, Black(shadow), Brown(Ground) and the hit counter. Hope this helps anyone still struggling 👍
Hey this video, aside Mixeli’s, helped me succeed! I layered both of y’alls advice and techniques. I used a combo of the ticking noise from the jump and the shadows slightly. Picking a stationary enemy helps as does docking the switch and using a wired controller big time. Small tip for everyone… for me, this was a numbers game where I had to do this over the span of several hours to finally get it. To rush through the battle menu if you fail the jump, have Mallow and Boswer out so you can quickly select defend and get back on that saddle. Good luck and be patient ^^
One other tip: defeat the other enemies in the fight, just with untimed attacks. This game has some frame issues and I got it immediately after killing the other ones, I was noticing a slight inconsistency in the jumps and this fixed it for me.
I finally pulled it off and got my Super Suit! I got it on a Dry Bones in the Sunken Ship left mid side of the screen. I used Mario's left boot as my visual cue and hit A when the boot was lined up with the left edge of the plank left of the Dry Bone's nose. To me it was like Mario's boot appeared there and just locked in on that spot. Heart was racing over 150 bpm as I got into the 80's to the finish, just stayed focused and didn't let my nerves get to me. Stay at it guys, I thought this was impossible before but you can do it!
How I did the 100 jumps. * Spikey battle * Keep the right one alive * There should be a star patch of dirt * Super jump with Mario * This is the hard part. Stare into the background, ignoring Mario and the spikey. Look at the very bottom of the star patch (of dirt). * Once Mario lands on him, Mario will tilt to the right, for his jumping animation. You will not notice this if you are looking Mario. You must be looking at the star patch, unfocused a bit, only looking deep into the background. It's hard to explain. Your peripheral vision will see Mario jerk to the right. That's when you want to press A * once you see the sweet spot, you'll easily get it. The hardest part is blinking, since you need to look into the background while unfocusing your eyes. After I found this out, I was able to do it, within a few hours. My highest before was 30 or so, but after doing it, I constantly got highs in the 80s.
The only time I was ever able to do this was on an emulator, with quicksaves and slow motion. With all the comments, I've tried multiple tips and yours have been the most effective so far. Keeping at it...
Finally got it (never did in the SNES game). Some tips, in addition to doing it on Spiny in Bandit's Way (IGN tips helped) 1. Flower ring on Mario 2. Earlier Times (use once you run out of FP) 3. Kill all but the bottom right Spiny, defend with other characters. 4. Notice the timing when you can barely see Mario's blue left leg cover the yellow Spiny spike. This is when you need to hit A. 5. Can't stress this enough: use the joycons in handheld mode 6. Headphones with low volume so you can only hear the 1up sound. 7. Relax, and try again if you fail.
Thanks for the video! Still took me a couple hours of practice, but nailed it... finally. But, nothing worse than getting to 90 super jumps and failing, and then to 98 super jumps and failing first, though. On a side note, they definitely made 100 super jumps a LOT easier for the switch remake versus the original.
@@MegaWTFgamer It does. I did the 100 super jumps on the spikey as mentioned in this viedo. You don't have to "kill" the enemy or anything. I just got to monstro town yesterday (as of the date of this post) and walked right in and got both the attack scarf and super suit. But, I will say this, after practicing super jumps for HOURS, it got to the point of being a LOT easier. I did 100 super jumps on a boss after doing it initially, and, was like... well, that wasn't frustrating at all. Super jump plus GENO's boost equals boss anihilation.
So when you say 'the top of the spiny', are you referring to the very top where the spike on its head is, or the area where mario lands before jumping back up? I always seem to fail just at the 13-17 mark, and no matter the version of the game or the methods I try, the window is just so freakishly small.
What ended up working for me was doing this against Jinx. When Mario's head reaches the slanted green line above Jinx is when to press. I couldn't hardly get past 20 using the spikeys, and eventually gave up. When I first encountered Jinx I got to 30 without even trying. Then I tried and broke 70. Kept at it and got my 100. Edit: When you first encounter Jinx, you get 3 battles with him. Save the game after the second battle, and have the Earlier Times item, and you're good to go. If you accidentally beat him without getting your 100 jumps, just reset the game and go back in.
My favorite detail about the super suit is lost in translation and unused item designs: official art makes it look like a cold weather coat or sweater; which are called jumpers in certain cultures, and what the item's Japanese name translates to; the super jumper!
god, the tip for the plugged in controller and earphones made a huge difference, went from like barely 30 jumps to getting the 100 within maybe 20 mins
There are no Spiky in Mushroom Way until the final zone with the Lakitu. If you go to Mario’s Pad first, you have to start at the beginning and work your way to the final screen. However, if you exit Mushroom Way from the third screen, or go to Mushroom Kingdom first, you can start at the end of the third screen with the Spiky enemies. After entering from the right, returning to the World Map from the system menu will also let you immediately restart from the right exit. Moreover, the chest with the full HP/FP recovery mushroom at the right end of the *second* screen replenishes each time you enter Mushroom Way. You can enter Mushroom Way from the right exit, make your way to the left end of the third screen, do your attempt, take the chest in the adjacent screen, do a repeat attempt, then go to System>return to world map, and repeat, going straight for the aforementioned chest. This may be faster than sleeping at Mario’s house to replenish FP. If gauge reaches 100%, a lucky Flower Essence from the Toad Assist roulette chest can help also. I’m not sure if the mushroom chest before the Croco fight in Bandit’s Way also replenishes, but there is no exit on the far end of that level, so the time-save may not work regardless.
The Bandit’s Way chest does not replenish, moreover the final screen was completely devoid of enemies after the Croco fight. The first screen at Bandit’s Way does have a save block right next to Spiky, however, which might make saving there with full FP and returning to title screen without saving slightly faster yet.
I look at the top spike of the spiny. When I see his body covers up the spike I hit the button. It worked for me, played it on handheld as well so I can really focus in on the top spike
Thank you thank you I think your guide is the best that I found I was searching for the best guide but this is really helping me out I think I can do it I got up to 30 instead of 14

I don't understand the tip about plugging in your controller? Wouldn't that have me sitting about two feet from my TV? I feel it would be difficult to do at that point (my TVs are pretty large)..
Can the 100 jump challenge be done before reaching Monstro Town so that you can then just collect the suit when you talk to the NPC or do you have to talk to the NPC first to activate the challenge?
I would personally recommend turning the sound off and playing in handheld mode, maybe even in tabletop mode with the joy cons attached to the system while it's standing on a steady surface, as long as you can do that in a comfortable position. The point is, you want to reduce the amount of shaking that the system can do by as much as possible, while also reducing factors such as input delay for both the controllers and the screen itself by not using a TV. And while audio cues are important for some people, I personally kept getting thrown off by the music, so if that's proving to be a problem for you as well, then I would recommend turning off the sound on your switch system. It is a shame there aren't separate volume sliders for sound effects and music in this remake.
@@sny_guy Most of this advice is from hindsight, because I did the 100 jumps on a TV with a wireless controller, so it wasn't the most optimal setup. But I was comfortable, which helped me maintain my focus.
OMFG. It took me years to get the 100 jumps on the orginal and I thought for sure I would never do this again. The tip about the pro controller is legendarly good. I got it on the second attempt because I didn't think it would work after a full playthrough on the remake. 50 jumps in I said, ok im going to take this seriouslly. Nailed it and it felt great. I finally got this after a few days of grinding (the tip about plugging in the controller is a massive help btw) and when I popped off about it in discord all of my friends spammed the Frozone "Where's my super suit?!" Gif
I just completed this challenge myself a few minutes ago, and I'm still shaking a bit from it. That was intense, and I don't think I could pull it off again if I tried. I'm glad I did it, though. It was one thing I could never do on the original, but having done it on the remake does feel rewarding in it's own right.
I couldn’t agree with you more in every aspect. I only successfully did it once in the original without cheating and it took FOREVER. Feels amazing in this game though.
That's my goal too! I got into like the 60s or 70s at the highest in the original but never got the SS. Now I'm planning my redemption arc to get it in the remake! lol 😤
Hey man! I can't thank you enough for your video! I was never able to do this back in the day on the original but I was able to get it done during the remake! The way I did it was I disconnected the switch from the main hub and played it as a handheld and I found the button presses were more responsive! Got it after about 6 tries! Once I got past 50 jumps I stopped breathing to get the rest and had to yell and my girlfriend to keep the god damned cat away from me😂🤣😂 thanks again for helping me achieve this supreme milestone!!

Question, so you plug the Pro Controller to the Dock but the headphones directly to the console? Or headphones also connected to the TV? The TV would have sound and video lag anyway no? BTW, this is a great showcase of how modern TVs suck in the low input department compared to CRTs, since the original Super Mario RPG was harder they had to lower the difficulty to compensate for today´s tech.
Well there is a little problem for me i cant plug my controller one of the joycons cant connect to the switch anymore so yeah is it still possible without it plugged in ?
I'm playing on the Nintendo Switch Lite, and the most I've gotten was 67. Still working on it. I however found that on the Lite. It's faster to save at that save block in Bandit Pass, and then reload the save.
There is but only in handheld mode. When I used a wired controller on T.V. I only got 1 super jump but I got like 30 in handheld mode for some reason with headphones. @@sny_guy
I haven't seen anyone commenting about this, but I'm following the steps, but I end up failing because the enemy is simply taking damage from my jumps, I noticed that in the video the enemy stays still, but in my game the enemy does the damage animation. Was there something I missed? Am I stupid or something? (I haven't finished the game)
I have to ask, would you say not the try it in hand held mode? I usually play in hand held mode so that’s why I’m asking. I don’t have any pro controllers that can be plugged into the switch stand (although I do have ones that can be USB plugged in to charge, and hence can be plugged into the usb port of the switch stand) Also, how did you turn off the star effects in battle? I don’t know how to do that, so if you could also explain that that would be very helpful also.

Press it a little after Mario makes contact with the enemy. Around 13-17 the window gets tighter and after 17 it’s the same until 100. I think most people don’t realize how late you actually have to press!

Sometimes it might be a mental thing, I got a pillow and covered the counter on screen and I did it two times after. I think knowing what number I was on stressed me out
I want to add this here because it might help someone. Pretty sure the jump is at like 67 bpm. If you have a friend time starting the music for you, you can just tap along to the beat. I was listening to Van Morrison moondance when I finally got it. 😂

I did 100 jumps on the green crystal during my first fight against culex 3d battle on a wireless controller. I wanted to plug it in but my controller only connects wirelessly to the switch. I wasn't even aiming for the 100 jumps. I was just trying to survive that fight. I somehow unlocked something within me that let me do it for the first time ever
My current highest so far is 73, nearly three quarters of the way there. It really goes to show how having a visual cue, like Mario's shadow, can make something much less tedious.
I started looking at the spiny instead of the shadow and I swear I'm doing worse lmao Did just get 58 a bit ago though. REALLY wish we had frame data lol Update: Got 88, then on another attempt got 87. A decent amount of my attempts are making it to 40 now. Need a break. Update 2: I've gotten two more attempts...to 92 and 96. Kill me. Update 3: I DID IT
After watching this video, I was finally able to land 100 jumps and get the Super Suit, after trying intermittently for decades! Thank you! I always struggled with what to focus on for my timing and never felt like I fully got when exactly to press. I was stuck at around 31, which I couldn’t get consistently, but today I leapt up to 50, then to 90, then to 100! Now I find this timing pretty easy (not that I want to try it anymore…lol). For my Super Jump, I played on a Switch Lite, and I focused on a single Spikey at bottom right in battle screen on Bandit’s Way, like you said, and used Mario’s shadow to tell me when to jump. When Mario’s shadow begins to meet/overlap with Spikey’s shadow, I’d press B. By the time I’d actually pressed B, Mario and Spikey’s shadow would completely overlap (coinciding with the instant Mario’s shoes lands on Spikey). Eventually I get into the rhythm and cadence and found myself not focusing on the shadow as much but was still able to time it. That being said, when I finally landed 100, I was dialed in on that shadow intersection from start to finish. It actually goes pretty fast and I found one of my biggest obstacles was getting out of my head and just doing the dang thing like a machine. I was sure I’d never be able to land 100 consecutive jumps but it IS possible even if you’re currently struggling to get up to or past 15 reliably! I was there pretty much till today. I probably put in 50 attempts today, but it was worth it, and I definitely improved rapidly once I found that reliable cue for timing. Very pleasing to finally accomplish this after so many years…thanks again for your guide! Good luck, Super Jumpers!

Haha!
Let’s gooooo!!!
While I'm doing this, I feel an imaginary Fletcher slapping me after I screw up every time. "WERE YOU RUSHING OR WERE YOU DRAGGING???"
Still haven't been able to complete this challenge to this day.
There is still time to do it!!!!
I did it in about 60 mins! What helped me a lot, was focussing on something other than the enemy (the ground of green visuals behind the enemy). Also make sure to press your button a lot harder than you would usually do, it helped me a lot. Keep trying guys and you Will get it.
Thanks for the input!!
Great info thanks for this. I tried to watch the shadow and couldn’t do it.
Hell yeah I love to hear this!!!
After a couple of hours I finally did it! This was the most difficult thing i have ever did in a Mario game, but it was fun.
🔥🔥🔥🔥 LETS GOOO
How I did the 100 jumps.
* Spikey battle
* Keep the right one alive
* There should be a star patch of dirt
* Super jump with Mario
* This is the hard part.
That's when you want to press A
* once you see the sweet spot, you'll easily get it.
Let’s gooo!!! I need to see that 100 SOON!! 👀
Finally got it (never did in the SNES game). Some tips, in addition to doing it on Spiny in Bandit's Way (IGN tips helped)
1. Flower ring on Mario
2. Earlier Times (use once you run out of FP)
3. Kill all but the bottom right Spiny, defend with other characters.
4. Notice the timing when you can barely see Mario's blue left leg cover the yellow Spiny spike. This is when you need to hit A.
5. Can't stress this enough: use the joycons in handheld mode
6. Headphones with low volume so you can only hear the 1up sound.
7. Relax, and try again if you fail.
This is all great stuff!!!
I agree with you 100% on the difficulty change. I failed at 89 and was so sad so I’m glad it’s done.
I failed at 99 jumps. Twice.
At least I did it, though without reaching the area where you get the equipment. Hopefully it still counts...
@@MegaWTFgamer it will still count!!
@@sny_guy yep, I got to the part with the equipment. Now I can tear the rest of the game to shreds.
BROOOO!!! Thanks for the amazing plug in tip
Hell yeah! Glad I could help!
So when you say 'the top of the spiny', are you referring to the very top where the spike on its head is, or the area where mario lands before jumping back up? I always seem to fail just at the 13-17 mark, and no matter the version of the game or the methods I try, the window is just so freakishly small.
Where Mario lands!!! And the window is crazy small!
It also helps if you look at his shadow. Mario's shadow moves when he goes off screen. Making it better to time your press.
I just realised i was using the jump shoes and as soon as i unequiped them i got 60
👀
What ended up working for me was doing this against Jinx. When Mario's head reaches the slanted green line above Jinx is when to press.
I couldn't hardly get past 20 using the spikeys, and eventually gave up. When I first encountered Jinx I got to 30 without even trying. Then I tried and broke 70. Kept at it and got my 100.
Edit: When you first encounter Jinx, you get 3 battles with him. Save the game after the second battle, and have the Earlier Times item, and you're good to go. If you accidentally beat him without getting your 100 jumps, just reset the game and go back in.
Love to hear this!
Man I got to 90 on E023 Booster.... And then he died. 😭 I was heartbroken.
@@darkuscarlet nooooooo
What if you get the record and then die to Jinx though? Perhaps you mean the first fight.
@stephencheney9811 no I mean the third fight, as that's what I did. Also, after 100 jumps he should be dead or near it.
My favorite detail about the super suit is lost in translation and unused item designs: official art makes it look like a cold weather coat or sweater; which are called jumpers in certain cultures, and what the item's Japanese name translates to; the super jumper!
I never knew this! This is legendary stuff right here!
I actually use the lowest tier syrup and the flower ring to prolong attempts and so far at 53 for my best attempt. This is brutal.
Brutal but the supersuit is worth it!!
So the pro controller is better than the joy-cons?
Joycons seem to be the best when attached to console as far as latency goes.
I’m trying the pro controller still, because the face buttons are bigger, making them easier to press for me.
@@megalo_64 I like the pro controller as well!!
I beat the game and post-game without it. I took the challenge today and I got it after a few attempts. Thanks for the tip. 💙🧡
god, the tip for the plugged in controller and earphones made a huge difference, went from like barely 30 jumps to getting the 100 within maybe 20 mins
Within 20mins???? That’s incredible!!! 🔥
What wired controller should I use? Official or third party? Wanna know whenever I get around to playing the remake of the game.
I think either is fine as long as it’s wired. I was using a pro controller but those can be expensive.

I’m curious about that 🤔
So playing with joycons plugged right into the switch and using headphones should work fine then?
Yes!! I couldn’t do the small screen but that will have the least input lag.
I don't understand the tip about plugging in your controller? Wouldn't that have me sitting about two feet from my TV? I feel it would be difficult to do at that point (my TVs are pretty large)..
I guess it depends on how long of a usb-c cable you have! It helps with the lag.
Can the 100 jump challenge be done before reaching Monstro Town so that you can then just collect the suit when you talk to the NPC or do you have to talk to the NPC first to activate the challenge?

Checking back in to say that I managed to pull it off, and I owe it to videos like this one.
Letssss goooooo!!!! 🔥
Good advice! I needed the sound personally.
@@sny_guy Most of this advice is from hindsight, because I did the 100 jumps on a TV with a wireless controller, so it wasn't the most optimal setup. But I was comfortable, which helped me maintain my focus.
Just got it today, thank you for the great guide!
Let’s goooooo 🔥
Too bad I beat Culex 3D already.
Hell yes!!!! 🔥
Una pregunta, yo he hecho los 100 saltos antes de llegar a monstro town, me los contará el lobo ese?

This is epic!!! I’m glad you got it!!!
Now I'm planning my redemption arc to get it in the remake! lol 😤
Finally, everyone knows exactly the stress and suffering this caused me in the 90s 😂

@@SharkXOmega in the original yes. And on the snes classic version.
Also with the normal controller? Or only with the Pro Controller

Hey man! I can't thank you enough for your video! I was never able to do this back in the day on the original but I was able to get it done during the remake! The way I did it was I disconnected the switch from the main hub and played it as a handheld and I found the button presses were more responsive! Got it after about 6 tries!

This is a GREAT tip.
Pro controller to dock. Headphones to tv/monitor.
What is the input timing. I usually get somewhere between 10-17 and my highest is 31. I dont know what the difference was
After 16 it becomes frame perfect. Buts it’s always the same rhythm. If you get anything past 17, you are on the right track!!
Quick question, if I get to 100 before I collect the Attack Scarf, will he give me the Attack Scarf first? I just want to be 100% sure

Does wired pro work better than using as hand held?
In my experience it did because looking at the small screen was tough for me.
I'm playing on the Nintendo Switch Lite, and the most I've gotten was 67. Still working on it. I however found that on the Lite. It's faster to save at that save block in Bandit Pass, and then reload the save.

Don’t wear jump shoes!
I have to ask, would you say not the try it in hand held mode? I usually play in hand held mode so that’s why I’m asking. I don’t have any pro controllers that can be plugged into the switch stand (although I do have ones that can be USB plugged in to charge, and hence can be plugged into the usb port of the switch stand)
Also, how did you turn off the star effects in battle? I don’t know how to do that, so if you could also explain that that would be very helpful also.

It really goes to show how having a visual cue, like Mario's shadow, can make something much less tedious.
I started looking at the spiny instead of the shadow and I swear I'm doing worse lmao

Update 2: I've gotten two more attempts...to 92 and 96. Kill me.
Update 3: I DID IT
The shadow is tough to look at for me. Too distracting and detailed 😅. If you got to 58, you are really RIGHT there.

That’s nice, I couldn’t look at the shadow. It was too alluring 😅
