Firstly, I'd like to Thank You for posting this video. I'm growing these from seed. I laid the seeds out on April 17/2024 & I took a quick peek on them today, and noticed a couple have already sprouted.
A few questions: 1) When should I take them out of their germination tub & put them in planters? 2) When I put them in planters, I'm assuming I won't need the heating mat, is that correct? 3) How fast do these typically grow in their first year?

They should be fine without the hight temperatures once they have germinated for a couple of weeks or so.
I don't have a fixed time period for plugging them up, depends on growing conditions / temperature. I wait till they have reasonable growth, perhaps a couple of centimeters.
      Hope this helps 🤞🏻
      Good luck 🍀

Hi there! Can you tell me what soil you have for them?

I use peat based compost to germinate and propagate.
      Hope this helps 🙂

Some questions - you mentiond a high humidity and temperature. What about brightness? Paulownia are light-germinaters. How long do you keep the bigger plants in the tunnel?
Before you plant them outside, do do put them for some hours over some days in bright sunlight, so that they get used it?
    Thank you.

They germinated fine in the grow room with a couple of grow lights. Bright, but not in the same scale as a bright sunny day.
They do fine when planted out, they don’t do well in the plug trays outside.
Once the roots have filled the plugs they are ready to plant.
      I don’t acclimatise them.

Hi Craig, are you familiar with Black Locust? Very fast growing and extremely hard wood that is good structural timber and firewood. I will be growing some on from seed soon.

Hi Simon, I did a video on germinating Black Locust a few back 😉
Those I planted here are slow to get going, though a couple are now putting out some leaves.
Those I germinated this year are doing OK, though something is eating them, probably slugs. There are a lot of small slugs this year. Probably the fox has eaten all the rats which are their main predator😏
Still the fox keeps the Hares away from the Paulownia 😁
