Fellow vaulters. Chill. She has had 20 minutes of vault training. Not much is going to get done on your first day vaulting. She did pretty well for her first practice.
@@Jesus_isRisen3 12’8” in the decathlon. We didn’t have much of a training facility at my college so I only practiced it like 10 times a year in my three season in college
MissesKitty she would never be able to throw her pole in time for her to not knock over the bar. (I pool vault) when I was starting my body could always clear 6 feet but my pole would knock the bar down.
I am very grateful for this video. After looking for days and days on “How to Pole Vault" this video has given me great tips on how to do it. This video has helped me a lot. I will put this into full affect starting tomorrow. Great video for starters. Thank you. ☺🏃
He really does, he’s my coach (well he was like last year) and he’s really good, he can be confusing sometimes but with the groups of people I was always with helped me out when I needed it
Well done, even attempting pole vaulting is a challenge! I was a gymnast in high school 50 years ago, still rings and parallel bars. Even with the daily emphasis on my arms, shoulders and abdomen when I tried pole vaulting for the track team it was a major challenge. The shock to your upper torso from putting all of your momentum against the pole can really be felt. Of course this was many years ago and the poles were fiberglass back then and not the exotic carbon-fiber composites they are today-which tend to reduce the shock to your muscles. I eventually became a fair pole vaulter (for the times and the level) but I can appreciate that it's a sport you can't do very long, the strain on your joints and muscles has a cumulative effect. Anyway, you have my KUDOS for even attempting this!
+Roxanne Gonzalez (MissFoxyRoxy913) you learn to master that part of the jump once you are consistently off the groubd which comes well after your first day
+Kyle Azzam I suppose that some people do it recreationally and aren't taking the fitness aspect seriously enough, and fail in that area. It seems like Lauren's capability stems from already being fit before trying, and so she can exploit the motions of the technique to a higher degree than someone who is not physically fit.
Jason B I mean me and a couple of my friends on the football team started fucking around on the pit and one of my friends cleared 7 over a bar and he weighed 260
Not trying to put her down or anything I'm just saying she would not have cleared any of those jumps because she didn't let go of the pole and the pole would have knocked the bar down
I use that pinkish yellow pole that the girl in the pink shirt was holding for high school pole vault. I just started and I need to learn to get over the actual vault
This makes an absolute MOCKERY of pole vaulting. I understand she's never done it before but what she accomplished in the video is not even scratching the surface of what pole vaulting really is. She definitely cannot say she has "mastered" this sport. Good try but A LOT of things should've been done differently.
i think you're right, this isn't exactly pole vaulting. But for only training one day, it's actually not bad. I had a really hard time getting the confidence of actually jumping up, and it took me a while to actually find the technique, so I think she has done just fine. :)
While, I can't say I've ever heard that expression, I suspect it's something a fitness fanatic might say since having a strong, solid core is beneficial in almost all physical activity, incl. yoga. Of course, that's just my two cents, anyway.
Sad thing is that 30, 185 lbs and 6'1 Never done yoga in my life, and I can out work, out hike, out run many people who live and die by yoga. So busy practicing to practice that they never learn how to actually "use" their core. And not just women, but men, firefighters, soldiers, policeman... I have no doubt that yoga is great for you, but so is just getting out and doing stuff, I laugh when some one say "i do yoga" and then can't make a hike or finish run.... Enjoy your "solid core" haha
Wow! 7ft on the first day! I do high school pole vaulting and I can safely say that a 7"0' for girls would easily get you in the top 3 for a local meet!
The problem with the coach is that you have to make them know to turn right off the bat, that high jump teqnique will have a very low peak and THROW the dang pole
Yes, considering it was all one day. A great effort. Forget the closet critics, the coach did a fabulous job. I'd love to know if she could even move the next day. lots of jumps in there.
Im starting to hate it when women say that. I also love how when they can't do anything they blame it on not going to yoga... like yoga is the end all of everything
Jeez why are you vaulters so toxic? Vaulting is a tough event, try to remember how shitty you were during your first practice.. let the girl have some fun
This... This is not pole vaulting. I am a high school vaulter and I can say from experience what she has done in this video is nothing more than jumping while holding a pole. That takes no skill nor athleticism, which is not to say she is in any way not an athlete. But to say that she has done well in this sport. No, she has learned nothing about the sport of pole vaulting.
No, it doesn't, I know it doesn't because I help train the younger, high school, freshman and sophomores and they can do more than she on the first day.
Haha, came here to check if an amateur could beat the Lebanese female record of 2.10 meter in pole vaulting. Yep, Lauren could definitely beat that record in less than a week. (Btw, the female world record of high jump is 2.09)
it's pretty challenging for a beginner to do that on the first day. you need to learn how and where to put your body in the air first before you start moving it and doing the 'turn and throw'
Fellow vaulters. Chill. She has had 20 minutes of vault training. Not much is going to get done on your first day vaulting. She did pretty well for her first practice.
Joe Noonan yeah you right but the jumped for years and not got over seven feet part 😂
Joe Noonan thanks for not giving me false hope lol
@@loganmay3796 if you ain't over 7 feet in a few months ( depending on age ) you need to find another sport LOL
I jumped 9' my time, I was 14 yrs old. finished the season with 13'6. Finished my career with 17'6". With time, she coulda rockin it.
Nate Plager teach me!! that is so cool 😎
This is great, I like the way Lauren is confident in the way she attempts and complete the tasks given. Well done hope to see more!
Pole vaulted for the first time yesterday, cleared 8ft. Gotta keep working on form to improve. Can't wait to start vaulting higher!
How high did u get eventually?
@@Jesus_isRisen3 12’8” in the decathlon. We didn’t have much of a training facility at my college so I only practiced it like 10 times a year in my three season in college
"once a year someone dies at this"... damn.
diego villaseñor better than cycling
Just ask what time of year they die and avoid.
Simple.
Um why... What kind of injury... That sounds bad but I don't know the stats for other sports
theres a big difference between getting over a bungee and clearing one...
whats the difference?
He wasn't telling her to leave the pole behind. So of course she wasn't going to clear it.
MissesKitty she would never be able to throw her pole in time for her to not knock over the bar. (I pool vault) when I was starting my body could always clear 6 feet but my pole would knock the bar down.
It’s a it good that I can clear 9 ft in 8th grade?
Conner Meme yah it’s above average for a middle schooler I would say

yes pls
This coach really loves his job. bless his heart

Russ is the goat dude
I LOVE the can-do, positive attitude in these videos!!
I love her motivation and enthusiasm
As a pole vaulter that was hard to watch... wow you cleared a whole 3ft?? impressive.
Don't be a jealous troll...it is her first day...nobody just picks up a pole the first day and clears 15 feet.

amazing! love lauren in this, she seems to be able to do anything that comes her way!
I'm 13 years old at 5'3" and I've been doing pole vaulting and I love it. My first day I cleared 6'6"
I'm 14 and I cleared 7 6" today 😄
+seriously seth I'm 5 4"
You'll get better, believe me. It's my first year doing it as a sophomore in high school and at the moment i can clear 11'
What about pushing the pole away....
+Roxanne Gonzalez (MissFoxyRoxy913) you learn to master that part of the jump once you are consistently off the groubd which comes well after your first day
True, When I went like 9 feet i forgot to push the pole away and it smaked my chin and I bruised my tongue for about 2 weeks.
Gee, this lady seems to do everything right no matter how difficult the task is!
Nine years have passed but she is still a hot chick.
Jumped years and never got 7ft? Really?
+Kyle Azzam I suppose that some people do it recreationally and aren't taking the fitness aspect seriously enough, and fail in that area. And I am actually a pole vaulter so I know what 7ft is
Maybe they came in once a month and dicked around.
I’m only ever cleared 6ft in my first year😬
I'm a pole vaulter & it's really fun.
We've all heard of the Fosbury Flop but this looks like the Lauren Vault - pretty amazing...
Just pole dance already lol

It takes a wile to learn and as well get over and clear.
I was looking forward to this all week.
watching this to learn how to vault for a competition. I've never done this before and its 2moro...
Torian Deane got over the first height then was eliminated 😂
what height was it and how old and tall were you?
Me before watching the video: "no"
Me after watching the video: "yep, that's what I thought."

thanks for the video
this was really cool to watch
"We're gonna see how high we can get you." Oh my lord

Can Lauren pick up pole vaulting? No
Lmao
Put a bar up and see if the experience is just as positive.
So umm I vault like everyday and didn’t know someone dies at least once a year. Thanks for that 😂
I pole vault for OU and thats actually pretty impressive for a beginner.
There's no way thats her first time pole vaulting bc I've been doing it for months and just now made it over a 7ft bungee and only a 6.6ft bar.
His head shiny
Hahahahahahaha
How much upper body strength do you need?
Back and core strength

my name is Lauren and I'm starting pole vaulting today 😂😂
How did it go? I wanna start too!
the good ol days... i used to vault in my high school days. won a few metals and awards while at it. most hardcore event in T&F
