The fish are harmonizing because they're hummingfish. And no, they are NOT supposed to be able to walk around on dry land at this point in the story. They're supposed to do that when the water becomes so polluted they can't live there anymore.
6:40 Girl, you seen Encanto.
Mirabel had 2 nice, supportive parents
Again, that's Disney. This is illumination, they dead a$$ drop the issue right in front of you, I meant take gru, he has daddy and mommy issues.
Ehh... they were cool, not worse than most. But her mom told her to stfu and dont end up like bruno, and her dad told her to hide the vision and lie.
@@darryljack6612 Last time I remembered the mother never told her to shut up and the father wanted to avoid dealing with conflicts that involving because of the guests. Literally everything you just said wouldn't change the fact that they still supported their daughter and even defended her from the grandmother.
@@average-art3222 She didn't say Illumination movies, she said Animated movies.
The Lorax's job is to speak for the trees, not to stop their destruction physically, although that didn't stop him from trying to send him up the river. The idea is that we are to protect and preserve the environment from ourselves, which is something only we can do, hence why the Lorax doesn't do much. I do agree that this film isn't written well, though. But I think it's better than when Illumination did The Grinch. The Jim Carrey version was better.
I think he represents our conscience
_The Lorax is kinda bad_
🎵How ba-a-a-ad can it be?🎵
😂😂
@@SophieLents I think you're really close to reacting to all of Disney's movies which is something I like about your channel. I quite enjoy your reactions. Would really love to see you react to Mulan 2 and George of the Jungle
17:27 "And the animals are dying" was an actual line in the original song but they had to rewrite it to make it more family friendly.
0:49
“Why are you rhyming?”
Well, it’s a Dr. Seuss movie. There’s gotta be at least some rhyming somewhere in it.
You are correct. The book and 1972 short are much better with a much better environmental message. Not to mention they didn't partner with HP or Mazda to advervise themselves, seriously what was Illumination thinking. And "Biggering", the song they were going to use before "How Bad Can I Be", is so much better at expressing the point.
All very true.
Not just the environmental message. Messages about Capitalism and Trends
Dr Suess books were known for rhyming. Speaking of: I recommend Horton Hears a Who
That's a fun movie hahaha ❤😂
honestly, that movie has one of the nicest scores I can think of, with the music being composed by the same guy who made the music for How To Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda
The Lorax does not use his power to make people do things.
"You did a good job, beanpole...". Congratulates the onceler's personal growth.
Exactly right. He does not mess with free will. He can only suggest things.
Ok, I did not expect Sophie to react to The Lorax of all things
Same!
A funeral for a tree isn’t that dramatic, they’re social, they communicate with each other with an electrical root network. They have memory. They respond to music. Trees are alive, and trees create and protect life. Tress are important beings.
Even if the Once-ler would've planted that one seed at any time, people still wouldn't have cared besides Ted, Audrey, and Granny, and O'Hare, knowing how bad the trees would interfere with his business, would've destroyed them, causing deforestation all over again. So he had to trust Ted to do it.
This movie couldve been SO good and SO meaningful, but Illumination was too scared to embrace its message properly.
I still can't believe we couldve had "Biggering" 😭
This movie gets way better when u hear "biggering" the original song instead "how bad can i be?" It was replaced cuz they think it was too dark for the tone of the movie, and it is really dark. The movie is a criticism to capitalism, biggering is how unscrupulous tycoons sees the world. There's just a song without 3D animation of biggering but it totally worts it and even if it's just a sketch is way better than HBCIB
I used to love this movie a lot as a kid. I’ve been looking forward to this reaction.
Also, this movie was secretly a musical with lots of musical numbers.
The Lorax may not have been entirely well-received by critics saying the message wasn’t clear about the themes of deforestation and the consequences of greed and industrial pollution. However, it was still pretty good in my book.
Ed Helms as the Once-ler (though seen as a human here, but remains unseen in the book) did a wonderful job right alongside Danny Devito’s titular character the Lorax.
I can picture Ed Helms in the Once-ler outfit while he plays his guitar to How Bad Can I Be? He’s got that edge. I’ve seen him do it.
I'm still bummed out that they didn't go with 'Biggering' instead of 'How Bad Can I be', not that is bad (Ha), is just that 'Biggering' is a lot more impactful.
Oh, you should listen to the original version of the villain song btw!! It's called "Biggering" it's way better and it's a shame they cut it out and made it more family friendly.
As a movie, it's not bad. But for an adaption of one of Dr. Seuss's iconic stories, it's not good.
Meh, no.
The only really good thing about the movie is the score made by John Powell.
This movie was a supplement to the original, dedicated, film.
By shifting focus to the next tech profiteer, the events of the first movie are put into perspective
It'll forever be iconic tho
Why people think this movie is bad?
First Sonic, now this. Sophie going blind into a movie adaptation of a beloved childhood property is not a good sign.
I think she's more familiar with Sonic as a Franchise. Just didn't like the movie.
I open debate
"Biggering" would have saved this movie?
Lorax doing The iron man pose was hilarious
Truffula seeds take 10 years to germinate, and another 10 to become a full grown tree.
Oncie here never stood a chance at staying relevant.
So what you’re saying is that truffula trees are the Dr Seuss version of orchids which they take a long time to blossom
I want to hate this movie but the nostalgia is too strong 😭
Try watching "The Lorax but the Lorax is the only character"
I like this movie I think is fun and one of the few Dr Seus books that’s completely accurate to the story I would say. I like that teaches you to not to do deforestation because it wrecks the environment and that’s what the once-Ler did. He didn’t listen to The Lorax and wreck the whole forest and lost his friends 😔 also this movie has great line of star actors likes of Danny Devito, Betty White. Zac Efron and including Taylor Swift as Audrey which is another bonus in why I like this movie 😁❤️ hope you sort of enjoyed it and excited for the next movie reaction 😃😊😄❤️
Thneed: thing you need.
my breakfast is spread on two halfs: first - coffee with condensed milk. second - black tea with zapekanka
Halves. Sounds good
6:40 Encanto, Inside Out, Moana (at least the mother is supportive), Zootopia (not really supportive with her dreams, but happy for her)
still wonder why tf the mother said "you have let me down" like it's becuase they're too ignorant and arrogant to not admit that they enforce the Onceler to push production faster that they helped destroy the forest or just wanted to put the blame on him
This movie is hella confusing for non-Americans. The rhyming, the lore etc. As a European, i had to look up Dr. Seuss and read some of his stuff, i kinda wish i had Dr. Seuss books and stuff when i was little
somebody lied because why is The Lorax one of the best animated films out there?
Regardless of if the movie is good, I will always appreciate the plethora of edits on TH-cam that came out of the Let It Grow song
I'm not saying this movie is better than people think by any means, but can we all just agree on something:
The scene where the last tree fell was the best scene in the movie. It has all the same impact that the original animated short did and then some.
6:40 it happens in Encanto
I always dig your commentaries! I assume you haven't read or are familiar with the original book by Dr. Seuss? I feel this one not only had a hard time stretching the classic Dr. Seuss book out to a feature length, but also just told everything so bluntly and rather over-the-top in a way I don't care for, that I feel clashes with the original book. Feels more like a Despicable Me-esque Illumination romp with the themes slapped onto it (like you said, "surface-level politics") than something where the storytelling works outward from Seuss' concerns about the environment.
Great reaction as usual please check out spies in disguise next🤞🏾🤞🏾
I don't think anyone I usually watch has ever reacted to it, and its so underrated
Imagine if the entire reaction was just you staring at a PNG of a Rolex...
Thank for the video Sophie! :)
I love this movie it's weird it's strange but I like the message in it and you know what Betty White is in here and I will not insult it. I enjoyed the true meaning behind the story. Respect nature and the trees 🌳.
🤔 Here's the problem. Usually, the main issue with converting a popular book into a movie is deciding which parts to leave out in order to condense it down to a reasonable length. With Dr. Seuss books, the dilemma is the exact opposite. How do you take a short book that only takes about five minutes to read, and stretch it out into a full length feature? The answer is, you don't. To me, the only truly great film that was ever made out of a Dr. Seuss book was the original 1966 "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" half-hour television special.☺ If you're looking for a full length cartoon feature that's based on a book, Roald Dahl's novels lend themselves a bit better to the 1½ hour format. "James & The Giant Peach" (1996) is a really good Disney musical that everyone seems to have forgotten about. 🍑 "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" (2009) is also pretty good, albeit a bit darker. 🦊👍
Love this movie it's so cute I love the bears and the line "that's a women??" 😂
I like this movie. It has many failings, but I think it's alright. I detest knowing about the original concepts and listening to the demo songs, I am quite sure that this movie could have been a great new adaptation of the short story.
This is perfect 😢
SAME! I am so not a breakfast person😂😂😂. And apparently, my dad isn't either, so I think I learned it from him or my it's a genetic trait that my hunger is the same as my dad's 😂😂😂
You should watch horton hears a who. It’s an infinitely better adaptation of Dr Seuss
Dr. Sues Grinch Who Stole Christmas
Please react to Horton hears a Who I love that movie so much
We need to see you’re reaction to The Cat In The Hat next :)
Oh no. 🫣
Me encantan las pelicuas de Dr, Seuss y más si las veo contigo ❤
Still waiting to see the Rolex 😂
You not liking this movie feels like a blow to the chest 😂😂
Rango is the best movie when it comes to animations like the Lorax.
I am the lorax, I speak for the trees, but for some reason, they are speaking Vietnamese.
The trees will not be harmed if the lorax is armed.
I am the Lorax, I speak for the trees, you harm the trees, I break your knees
The seed is a metaphor for hope. It's less political and rather more theological. Religions and their prophets didn't change anything or solved the world's problems. They give people the tools to enact change and to believe it will work out in the end.
You should watch the breadwinner it’s so sad you’d cry halfway through or earlier
It seems cheap to have the Lorax return right after Ted plants ONE single seed. In the book the Onceler said " Unless soneone like you cares an awful lot nothing's going to get better it's not. " In this movie one good gesture apparently saves everything.
Not sure if they celebrate valentine's day in your area but you gotta watch Your Name for this month . Also will you be my imaginary valentines 😂
Best Ending Ever!!
22:38 please please PLEASE go track down the original short. Its right here on TH-cam. It has so much more depth than this movie.
Hey Sophie, I saw someone in the comments say that you should react to Avatar and I kinda agree with them. Avatar is one of highest grossing films of all time. They are both beautiful and extremely sad.i would be so grateful if you watch it someday.😉💙
You really need to react to wonka it is a great movie i saw it and it was a great time and I totally recommend it
14:37 Actually I quite like that theory
Oh and sorry for posting twice but I got a video for you to watch Vivo it's a good movie and lots of good music
Would you be interested in reacting to Babylon or Barbie ?
I agree with your opinion of this movie. It was hollow.
Ah yes, the Rolex
It's Dr. Suess
Yeah, onve you mentioned you had daddy issues, that overly pessimistic tone, view, and overall bad energy made sense
Hello and good afternoon,
Is there anyway you would consider doing reaction videos to the old MTV cartoon called Daria?
From 1997 to 2002.
Each episode is 20 minutes long, so you could do two episodes in one video, if you wanted to..
I'm very interested in hearing your thoughts and opinion on the Daria character, and her sarcasm and how she deals with everyday life
Oh yeah this movie does the short and the book a disservice. Doomed from the start when Illumination of all companies was tasked with making an anti-corporate, pro-environment message not feel hollow.
Someday can you react to the science fiction movie Avatar and also the sequel. They are both beautiful and have a lot of action. 😊❤ or Monster house 😅
Hello there hey there 😊😊
People need trees without trees there is no air that is the point, and he makes money off of air supplies and why he doesn't like it when the boy is trying to get trees back, we would all die though for real if that ever happened and we lost all the trees, this movie has good points and strong messages, but I'm pretty sure we would all die if all the trees were gone from he world.
24:28 I loved the movie so F your thumbs up XD
❤your too funnny
#proudSOPHIELENTSaddict
I dare you to react to Ninja Assassin if you have the guts
I forgot how the book went since I haven't read it in a long time. Since you were looking up some movies online, it seems to me you forgot my movie request that you said you added these to your list and you haven't even reacted to them yet and it's been 2 years. Lemme remind you
Kingsman the secret service
Good burger
Flushed away
She's the man
Friday
White Chicks
Coming to AMerica
Secret life of Pets
The Thorax... Nice. : D
My Daughter would like you to watch the new Disney movie Wish and make a video
Waffles sometimes
I wonder why did you decide to react to this one
Watch Annabelle
Im moving to another country because of my daddy issues. So I can't comment 😅
Can you react to "Tonight, At The Movies"? It's a japanese, romantic live action film with heartbreaking fantasy. One of the best movies i've ever seen!!! 😭💔🌈
Day 2 of asking you to watch monster house
:D
More like the snore ax
"Bad air, that must be capitalism"
Well.. maybe a visit to a communist country would be interesting.
It was the introduction of capitalism that saved the treas in Europe. Because under a capitalist system you could trade in land and have value of land. Planting forest that you couldn´t cut down in your life span, still was profitable, because the value of the land increased.
16:04 Robots did a way better misgender joke 7 years earlier.
The book was much better.
Wes Tank did it better: th-cam.com/video/olagQ88D2VA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rThOGZTPFMDAFTL2
ok so let's have an indepth and detailed discussion about sophie's daddy issues...
how often did she mention them by now? xD
Yeah I love this movie I’m disliking this video on title alone
Pésima reacción jajaja
I don't like this movie. 😞
Begging you to check out Scarygirl (2023) sometime.❤ I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it since I didn't even know it existed until like 20 seconds before I decided to watch it lol
