  • cash games are great, but they rarely have the blind raises, crazy calls, and massive punts I witnessed in this incredible event. worst of all, they don't even have my good friend BUDDY.

That's weird because I was just about to comment saying how much I hate the humor, editing etc. This guy has a good narrating voice, has good poker commentary, but sucks at jokes. At he's the type of person, I think, who sincerely believes they are funny. Those are courtesy laughs my friend. I think you have a lot of good things going for you but you need to drop the attempts at humor or have someone else write your jokes. The jokes which are poker specific are ok, but anything extra is really bad.

Hey there will, quick observation/note from a hand. Being aggro with the 64o is the correct play, but I prefer opening to 2.5-3 BB in that position as a lot of people are not jamming at the correct frequencies there. So if you wanted to raise fold hands like that, you could. And if they flat call, because of stack depths and positions you can often play extremely exploitably post where small bets c-bets just end up printing if they whiff.

    • @4betblind
      @4betblind  ปีที่แล้ว +13

Great vid! Comments. 1. I’d have shoved with 46s, but not off. Not sure if I’ve overvaluing being suited. 2. I think your AQ all in was a no brainer. I’d guess it’s probably close vs. a regular raise, but so much easier to play the way you do it. 3. Like all your plays except the 67 call, but being too tired to decide is very understandable, and it’s probably close, especially given what he actually shoved (maybe an easy call, actually,in this case).
Great content! I think most people greatly underestimate 1. The importance of being the one going all-in vs calling. 2. The importance of folding. The second is probably the most counterintuitive, since in cash games, folding doesn’t make you money, whereas in tournaments it does.

No it's not. I'm no tournament player and I'm lazy to do the maths but intuitively AQo barely has more than a 50-60ish% chance of being the best hand at the table with that many players behind you. So a significant risk to bust, for a reward of 2.5bb that's welcome, but far from essential at that point. Maybe it's close though, depends precisely on payouts and stack sizes distribution..
But anyway I thought the whole video he was making correct observations, citing sound theory, but then not taking the appropriate action. Ran grear though, so that entitles to think he outplayed the (other) fish in that tournament, and get praise in the comments lol.

Congrats on nice payout and winnings.
    Chopping works both ways.
Im usually down to chop lot of times.
Ive chopped as a chip leader.
    Ive chopped as a shortstack.
At the end, all comes out to same thing.
I love tournaments over cash games.
But both have pros and cons.
Tournaments arent 24/7. Cash games are.
Tournaments can pay big while cash games can only achieve tournament winners' payout if they run superhot throughout entire session.
Tournaments require better pre flop hand selection while cash games require better post flop plays.
Tournaments have lot more variance than cash games due to lack of room to play postflop due to increased blinds unless two chip leaders are battling with deep stack.
Tournament strategies change based on blinds while cash games stay same at all times.
Except for major events like wsop, wpt, most tournaments, especially local daily or weekly tournaments, they allow u to chop.
Best to chop when blinds get stupid high because its a crap shoot. Even Ivey, Negreanu, Hellmuth, dont have edge over you at that stage. You wont have edge over me at this stage. So best is to chop for that reason.
Best of luck in your future games!!!!!
Thank you for the breakdown and approaches on different stages of the tournament.

If you're ever in the central coast California area, drop by the Oceanview casino. A lot of action in our tournaments, much like what you experienced in Eugene. Similar prize pools, too.

I appreciate how funny some of these cut scenes are like that Legends of the Hidden Temple one. Very clever.

Most entertaining, easy to watch poker video I've ever seen. Love tournaments. You always get someone who plays any 2 cards getting all the chips even if they end up losing them. There is nothing better than seeing someone who let's everyone know how they're probably one of the best players in the tournament, Get taken down by someone who's gone all in with 4 8 off suit because it's the number on the door of where he lives.
