  • In this video, Max from Test & Measurement at Kistler explains different cable features relevant for piezoelectric measurement technology and tells you what to consider when installing them.
Cabling is an important, often underestimated aspect of piezoelectric (PE) measuring chains: For a proper signal transmission, cables and connectors have to be optimized in terms of insulation resistance and very low charge loss. By means of special materials and construction features, the so-called drift can be reduced to a minimum.
Max also shows you Dos and Don’ts during installation of cables and connectors. On top of that, he talks about applications, which require cables with special features such as coatings, braidings or a high protection class.

Don’t miss the second part of our small series on cabling: it’s focusing on the triboelectric effect and its relevance for PE measuring chains.
