Price is one of those weird players where I'm dying for him to get beat, but when he wins these contests he just proves himself and you just can't help but respect him even more while realising how good he is for darts

I find that while it's nice when a top dog gets beaten by a lower ranked player, too often that lower ranked player can't keep up the standard until the end of the final and the overall quality of the tournament lowers. Of course there are exceptions like when Rob Cross just kept beating everyone a few years back and won it.
Respect his game. No respect for his behavior.

All the comments about the great starting match but let’s give some credit to an absolutely dominant performance by Johnny Clayton.

Price V Huybrechts is the *MATCH OF THE CENTURY* as long as Ally Pally is concerned. I was screaming at the telly during that seventh set. Gervin Price, love him or loath him, is a Man of Steel. No wonder they call him “The Iceman.” Kim deserved the chance of a sporting miracle. The winner must be who was the hungriest, and the Welshman has showed to have the most hunger.

It was Kims inability to break prices throw in the last few sets that lost him the game. He hit his doubles when to hold on his throw but multiple occasions he had 3 darts at a double to break prices throw and throw for the match but he cracked under the pressure. Thats the difference between a good player and a great player.
he played better as a great player than most of the guys who are already home and by miles .
More like the difference between a wonderful player and the greatest player

Yes he always makes out it’s only a bump in the road but he won that match with the final dart nearly😂😂 he never says anything good about the opponent. I like him all the same! He’s got some bottle with all the crowd against him

Shame Kim couldn't bring it home, was definitely crumbling under pressure in Gerwyn's legs, he could've at least won 3 of them in the final set. The difference between a good player and a top tier player right there.
Yeah indeed i think he made a mistake going for D9 i the 5th leg of the 7th set because you cant really atack it from the first dart and if you miss the first one you dont want to go inside

Amazing match! Gerwin might be full of himself but it's for good reason. Not too often someone switches sports and becomes world champion in just a few years.
If he'd switched to snooker then THAT would be something. I jest of course, because that's an impossibility.
Price has made Darts so much more exciting, so refreshing to have a confident player, who can easily wind up other players and he’s capable of backing it up! He’s great for Darts, you NEED characters like this in any sport.
No he has a bigger gob than mvg, yes he is a great player, but just a shame he has a head the size of planet.

He used to be a top 16 player. Had a bad couple of years but beat MVG on TV a month ago and is back in form. Shame he couldn't finish it off what a game!

Difference between Kim and Gerwyns shouts is Gerwyn does them as a show of passion and aims it towards the crowd everyone one of Kim’s ended up being directed at Gerwyn which really just shows his pettiness

I see you didn't show the embrace between price and kim afterwards. Was that on purpose to try and build the 'hype' for the next time they play.
everybody should watch the price documenary once before judging. i made the same mistake, i didn't like him for some years but when he got better and better i informed myself, what everybody should do.
gerwyn price has a good attitude, he knows what competition means and he is not aggressive at all, he is a very calmed down character.
please watch his story and then judge again.

Kim threw it away with rowing against Price. His festive attitude after that was almost hysterical, as if he tried to dust the pressure off his shoulders. He forgot he had a match to win. He is just not a professional player.

@doraemon: They have the bull-up before the match, so to me, another is not needed. The only way to make it fairer is to do what tennis used to: play till they get a 2 leg win.
