Van Duijvenboden and Ross Smith deserve every bit of credit the match had to offer! I mean, the drama was just too much to handle at one point but, that seriously was one heck of a match! It went all the way to sudden death!
+ match-180s-record of 31 180s between them + individual 180 record to Ross Simth (19)
The only thing missing in this match would have been a 9 dart finish xD
non the less, for sure on of the best ever world championships matches.
Imagine if that match was the final! I mean that literally should have been the final!
In boxing terms, DVD and Ross put on a 12 round slugfest. Absolutely amazing.
Dirk is one of my favourite players. Never gives up and love his emotional reactions. AUBERGENIUS !

It was a very good match but realistically dirk is going to have to massively improve against Mvg because he won’t make many mistakes
Mvg fan here just saying you never know what will happen and that one should never assume someone is going to win
I think MVG will teach him a good lesson.
If bunting plays 104 again he could give mvg a game
@@pumpkinhead1125 thats the thing right, its not likely for someone like Bunting to do it against van Gerwen. Or multiple matches in a row, but I'd love to see MvG get a solid challenge. He usually has atleast 1 or 2 excellent playing opponents during worlds
I dont know if im the only one, but i would love so see some more 180 throws, this match had plenty and yet ive only seen 5. The raw emotions with a thrown 180 would in my opinion add to the summary.
Ye 31 literally got the record but they only show 5 I would like to see a seperate video showing all

@@bganonimouse2754 I think it was deserved in this case. After 1-0 Ross’s celebration was clearly aimed at Dirk, so I understand Dirk wants to respond in style. After the match they were amicable so I don’t think there was bad blood, just trying to get into each other’s heads I suppose
@@Quirino26 I've watched smith's games regularly. He doesn't aim his celebrations at his opponents. But I can understand why Dirk might have thought he was doing so, since it was closeby.
If you noticed Smith toned down his celebrations a lot after Dirk started mocking him.
Anyway I like both players a lot so its not a case of me supporting one over the other.
But I do wonder if Dirk would mock Price in the same way. What do you think?

That Dirk Van Duijvenbode vs Ross Smith match reminded me of Barneveld vs Baxter from 2009. Not the best match in terms of average, but amazing drama and tension.
they had a pretty high average though, regarding the fact that they missed buckets of darts at doubles...
That DVD vs Ross game was one of the best I’ve ever seen. Very entertaining!

Match between Dirk van Duijvenbode and Ross Smith was a real thriller. As for me - glad that Dirk won. Ross Smith acts like Price. Talanted player, but can't stand all those exaggerated celebrations and screams.
If you can't stand that then go watch snooker! It's the emotion and passion on the oche that makes darts so watchable! If you take that out of darts the sport would die out very quickly!

@@edwardowen4488Showing emotions is absolutely normal, but if you celebrate every high number you hit and show disrespect to your opponent like Ross Smith did after winning one of his sets, than there will be no sympathies from me. Luckily there are lots of other great darts players to cheer for.

Does DVD ever do a sedate or routine match? Fair play to both this was a gruelling, tense and superb battle. Best of the tournament so far.
Buntings finishing was top class tonight, certainly didnt think he had the game to beat Chizzy
Was a big fan of bunting back in the BDO days. He's had a tough time of things in the PDC but seems to be playing well this year. Really hope he can keep it up and permanently put himself in that top 16.

Why does chizzy never get someone playing as bad as king did. Darts is a lot of skill but some players do get lucky with there opponents playing rubbish. Chizzy never has that luck
He himself needs to up his game. You can't have it easy all of the time.

I appreciate the commentator putting in the effort to pronounce Dirk van Duijvenbode’s name so perfectly. I would not mind if he did not, but still
Ross Smith could easily lift the trophy in the next year or two. He has that crushing scoring power, like van Gerwyn or Price... just needs to clean up his doubles, and he's a sure fire champion.
