I remember Keith Law ridiculed anyone saying Ohtani would even be able to stick as a hitter, much less be a productive one. He was absolutely talking down to and and dismissive of anyone who slightly disagreed. A miss like that is unacceptable.
The 2020 draft has turned out to not be so great. As a Royals fan I will say that Asa Lacy has been one of the biggest if not the biggest busts the Royals have ever drafted.
I don’t see asa lacy as a bust yet. He’s had 2 TJ’s since he became a professional. The numbers are inflated bc he’s not playing 100% then he came back from TJ and lost his feel for a ball. And now he’s going through TJ again. Royals also had no pitching development system when we drafted him. That has been addressed now.
Dudes gonna be 26 the next time he throws a meaningful pitch, and he has a career 7.09 era. Theres no guarantee his arm even functions post surgery. Also the Royals probably do not care about him, as he will be a minor league free agent soon.
Love the conversation. It's good to see people disagree and still be cordial.

I loved Asa Lacy. Surprised.

I thought Hess has back issues.

More like the unluckiest player ever
@@User-b9q2z No, a bust. Picked high and will never play above AA. That is a bust.

Ben Hess has a career 6.89 ERA in SEC play. I don't see the performance.
